Citizens need to terrify their Republican congressmen into fighting back. And I don't mean terrify them of losing their next election, terrify them of losing their lives. These people are so committed to violence against working class and minorities that it's clear violence is the only language they understand.
I think that's extreme because I disagree with the assumption they're not afraid of losing their election. I do think if every sane rational American voted Democrat or independent down the ballot and not even 1 Republican vote, the GOP might capitulate. I agree with Karen and Popok. #1 Become an active part of the resistance and #2 Give us both chambers and I believe we can secure a conviction on impeachment. Then we just have to deal with JD for years! I shudder at that thought too but he's a self seeker and should be quaking in his boots once Dump is history.
It's not extreme because trust me, they're already afraid of losing the next election, but they KNOW that if Trump publicly rebukes them, the MAGA base will turn on them, and they will CERTAINLY lose their next election, so instead they cower, cancel public halls, refuse to do interviews, and march in lock-step with Trump, kiss the ring, lick the boot, cheer when told to, parrot the nonsense propaganda, etc. The only thing that can shock them out of their fascist alignment stupor is an actual threat to their wellbeing. They're too comfortable in their positions, knowing they can't be touched. We need to remind them they're wrong.

I agree. The rapid pace at which they are dismantling our democratic institutions is alarming. This has been 10 years in the planning stage. They've removed all those people who had an oath to the Constitution and put criminals and puppets in place. What we are experiencing is part Hitler's Germany, "Project 2025", a carbon copy of Chavez's "Make Venezuela great again" and Orban's implementation of "Shock and Awe" to confuse, exhaust and throw people off balance to consolidate power.

Rigging an American election is as logistically impossible today as it was every other time anyone has cried wolf about that issue. Refusing to accept the results of the election didn't do a damn thing in 2016 and it's sure not going to this time. He won the popular vote, but that doesn't mean more than half of the population supports him. Only about 45% of the population actually cast ballots, 64% of eligible voters. Trump won with 77.3m votes, that's 22% of the US population. Be hopeful in knowing he doesn't truly have the mandate of the entire country, whatever he might think.

If I understand this ruling correctly it means that DOGE must respond to every FOI request they receive. In other words, even if thousands, tens of thousands, even millions of individual citizens submits a request for information, DOGE must respond to every single of of those requests for information.
If you've been paying even a little attention to things Musk you will be aware that X recently went dark for several hours. The reason it went dark is called a denial of service attack. In simple terms, the site was hit by so many transactions in such a short period of time that it simply could not respond to any of them and therefore the entire site crashed.
The reason I bring this up is it seems that if DOGE were to receive millions of FOI requests to which it must respond the "agency" would just choke on the requirement to respond.
