We have watched 60 Minutes for years . THANK YOU FOR STANDING UP TO CENSORSHIP ❤️ please join Midas Touch … where you will be respected and appreciated.

DO NOT STOP REPORTING ON THIS ADMINISTRATION !

All of the real journalists need to start their own network. Create a new show called “The hour of truth” and let these large media companies go under. Contact the advertisers on their network and inform them that you will be boycotting their products due to their association with Crap Bull Shit (CBS). We deserve so much better - like you! Thank you for what you do. Keep up the good work!! Words matter.

MTN is such a Godsend.......Substack is the safe haven for journalists that have not bent the knee......Brooke Baldwin....one of the first CNN victims of the Orange purge...is back on the scene ..has a substack that is great. MTN should bring her onboard.

If NBC and ABC want to overtake CBS's ratings, they'd move their news operations to prime time and add an "Hour of Truth" talk show.

AI Overview The title of most popular TV personality is widely divided by genre, but Stephen Colbert (host of CBS's The Late Show) regularly leads late-night ratings, David Muir (ABC World News Tonight) holds the highest Q-scores for TV news, and global icons like Oprah Winfrey retain the highest name recognition.

AI Overview The highest-rated television programs airing recently feature major live sports and hit CBS dramas, with the NBA Playoffs (NBC/ABC) leading sports viewership, followed closely by network mainstays like Tracker and Marshals (CBS).

NBC and ABC already overtake CBS for prime time news. You must be a bot.

Daniel Solomon's avatar

They have NO prime time news. Prime time is 8-11 est.

That's how NBC and ABC can overcome CBS dominance of that time spot. And that would be and attract advertisers.

Barb O's avatar

Yes, you are a bot. Since most of us would consider the Evening News prime time for news. Another know it all that doesn't know anything. Time to block.

I had the same thought. Sadly it would take time, ,money and a platfform and fighting bureaucrats from the FCC and others.. People need somewhere to go other than YouTube which many people don't have access to. And individual subcriptions can become overwhelming quickly for people on a budget.

Karen Weinseiss's avatar

Was thinking the very same thing this morning - the sixty minute lens (for deep dive journalism and investigative reporting)

I don't disagree, but express concerns about how much our language has been corrupted along with everything else. EG: the word "truth" seems meaningless today and REALITY is no longer REAL. Let's figure out how to bring our language into meaning again! Our words have been corrupted, tossed into the abyss. Let's bring meaning, substance, words that we can trust.

Jeri Peratis's avatar

Well said, Judy. I agree 💯 %!!

Let's make lying wrong again!

Martha MacRae's avatar

The words are still the same, is the people who have changed.

Perhaps that's where the focus is needed.

SueieM's avatar

Excellent idea. They should do it.

…no doubt you will as well.

Although assuming everything is propaganda leads to no knowledge about anything.

Definitely, diversifying news sources is very important.

I try my best to do that, and still believe in 60 Minutes.

Everything is not propaganda. And the various facts that are presented from left and right act as a reality check.

Labelling everything as propaganda can be an excuse for only accepting that which agrees to a pre-existing conclusion, and which allows one to keep doing what is already being done and following the direction already being followed.

No change is required, and change is uncomfortable.

Mary,

While none of us knows Pelley’s plans, I believe it is essential that, whatever the venue, it enables Pelley to continue to capture a major share of the public discourse. As much as I am grateful to be part of the Midas Touch community, I’m not certain this is the most appropriate platform.

Resistance to the Max's avatar

As opposed to what alternative(s) at the moment?

Barbara Jo Krieger's avatar

Eric, My top pick would be NBC News that I understand maintains an aggressive newsroom.

Gene Wood's avatar

Mary hits it out of the park .. come to Midas touch .. keep being you .. come to a new home where we, the subscribers value you 🙏

At my grand age (94+) I have been a devotee of 60 minutes for as long as it’s been running undoubtedly, hence my great disappointment with the CBS management for messing one of televisions true gems‼️There isn’t nothing in its class so hopefully a remedy is already in the works.

Scott for the good of the nation and journalism, join MTN. We need people who will stand up for the traditional values of our country in the independent media.

WJB Motown's avatar

Scott Pelly and Katy Phang should do a regular show together.

It would be groundbreaking.

Betty Blersch's avatar

So glad you sent that letter to Scott Pelley. I admire him so much and am happy that he challenged those jerks.

Aria White's avatar

Yes, I completely agree with you.

Pat Robinson's avatar

This should be signed Respectfully, Ben Meiselas and the 6 million plus Meidas Mighty You tube subscribers.

Ruth's avatar

Yes. Exactly.

And growing 🇺🇸 🇺🇦 💙💙💙💙

Pat Robinson's avatar

Awesome, isn't it...all mainstream media is fading away and we are growing by leaps and bounds...amazing what having great talent telling the truth (without annoying advertisements!) can do!

Julie Conboy Russo's avatar

You’ve got integrity, morals, and ethics. Reporting as we know it begins today. Godspeed Scott! You’ve got a supporter here!

SJS52's avatar

Scott Pelley is a treasure and such a devastating loss to 60 Minutes! His words spoke true. Bari Weis has “murdered” 60 Minutes and CBS. Boycott CBS!

Resistance to the Max's avatar

Of course, CBS and its parent company, Paramount Global, are owned by Skydance Media, led by CEO David Ellison, who, not surprisingly, is a Trump pal too. Weiss is just his lackey in carrying out the gutting and demise of the network...or, the creation of Fox News light

Cindi Keane's avatar

I agree and I say f*k CBS which stands for Corrupt B------s Station

Aria White's avatar

Yes, we are going to boycott CBS! They have completely destroyed “60 Minutes”, and it used to be one of our favorite programs but sadly we’re going to have to boycott it too now.

SJS52's avatar

Real classy. Sure you belong here?

WJB Motown's avatar

Who are you? The Orange thought police!!!

SJS52's avatar

You sound more orange MAGA.FO

Heather Sabo's avatar

Thank you for standing up to censorship- you are a hero♥️

Aria White's avatar

Agreed completely!

Lisa's avatar

Thank God for people like Mr.Pelley, I hope he knows how much we all love him and appreciate him speaking up for us to these corrupt bullies. It’s truly frightening how they are everywhere now, destroying everything in its path. I only hope that when Trump is gone that 60 minutes can get back to what it actually stands for, truth in journalism, and the corrupt regime will be long gone and just a horrific memory.

Chuck Jann's avatar

I fear that the CBS we loved might be gone for good. I hope I'm wrong.

Lisa's avatar

I fear that too, but I have hope for when this is all over. Untill then #BoycottCBS, #IstandwithPelley.

Rich Penc's avatar

when the orange smear is gone, break up these monopolies. All of them.

Anne Rudder's avatar

Mr. Pelley- LEAVE CBS and join Meidas for reporting honesty! You do not need to prostitute yourself to an entity that no longer values truth! People of conscience will turn to independent media for news in the face of this fascist takeover! Take this fight to the people!

AnnaMarie Charlebois's avatar

Scott Pelley has been fired. So… leave is what he will do!

One of the best contributors to 60 minutes for years. Great interviewer, gifted writer and excellent reporter.

My best to you Mr. Pelley, I will follow you wherever you choose!

Fred's avatar

C’mon Scott. Join our community

Sue Linder's avatar

Great Scott! I have followed you for so long and have admired your fearless journalism. We need you, your integrity, your truth. Thank you and know that you have a ton of grateful followers. Looking forward to more truth from you, sir!

Greg Goodson's avatar

Ben and the MTN, thank you for offering an independent journalistic platform for Scott Pelly, who is certainly one of the finest of all time.

Lynn Swaffar's avatar

Excellent. 60 minutes was my favorite program since I was in my 20s and I'm now 82. The honesty and journalism and the interesting segments put it in first place in my programming. They will now fall from what they are known for. I'll be glad when the monster in The White House is out and integrity is back in and perhaps 60 minutes will return like it was !!!!!

Sheri's avatar

I always liked Scott. Now he has my full respect.

Judi's avatar

We love Scott Pelley and hope this isn’t the end of his industrious career. He needs to find another truth telling niche and continue till he’s ready to be done. CBS used to have a great reputation, now not at all. Too bad, I’ll miss a few shows but its not the same.

Valerie Panther's avatar

Thank you Ben for eloquently speaking what many are afraid to say or admit. Times are changing at break neck speed and it is frightening! I hope Scott takes you up on your offer…solid journalism that one can truly believe is becoming obsolete. I pray this all goes away sometime in the kit consistent future🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
