A Message from MeidasTouch to Jimmy Kimmel

Hey Jimmy. It’s Ben Meiselas, the co-founder of MeidasTouch. I wanted to personally thank you for your courage in standing up for Stephen Colbert and other comedians and hosts. I wanted to commend you for fighting back against Trump despite all his threats directed at you.

Yesterday, Trump threatened to have you fired again. He posted that you are “next” to go, and that he hopes Jimmy Fallon gets fired also.

In his post, Trump said that he hopes he was the reason that Colbert got fired.

Any attempt by Paramount or Skydance (the company acquiring Paramount) to claim they weren’t influenced by Trump seems to be contradicted by Trump’s post.

Obviously, we know that your parent company, Disney—which owns ABC—was one of the first to settle a bogus lawsuit with Trump back in December. Trump claimed he was “only” found liable for sexually assaulting a woman with his fingers and that the assault could not be called “rape,” and thus he said he was defamed and his reputation was harmed by George Stephanopoulos.

Disney/ABC settled without even taking Trump’s deposition. It was a truly shameful settlement.

Jimmy, with that as background, we understand how difficult it must be for you. We just wanted to let you know you have our complete support here. Keep speaking truth to power and never back down.

As I’m sure you are seeing, independent media is the way of the future anyway—and you will crush it on independent media if you create your own channels that you 100 percent own.
