NO! We aren't...at least those of us who have managed to hang onto our sanity up until now. In the midst of all the horrific things he has done, continues to do, and encourages others to do, I am absolutely gobsmacked about this bull**** last night in Texas. Aside from the "are you freaking kidding me?" aspect of it, surely this must be illegal. Isn't it, holding someone against her will?!

I agree! If I was a member of the Texas congress, I would take these "police?" on a wild day. See if they can run, ride an electric scooter, ride a bike...and for grins and giggles go clothes shopping! Take a nap in a dressing room while they stand around wondering what happened, and then go to a crossfire gym or hit yoga session. Put them in their place! Any person entering into law enforcement should no better than to do what these idiots are doing. 'Just Say No' should be the slogan the respectful and lawful police use when dealing with Trump and the useful idiot governors afraid to stand up to him.

So look, You call it ‘bombastic,’ but which part is untrue? A Republican really did float a 3rd term for Trump. Texas lawmakers really are being confined unless they sign permission slips. Federal agents really have been deployed in U.S. cities as if it’s normal. If you’ve got a factual rebuttal, bring it — otherwise, dismissing everything as ‘stupid’ isn’t an argument, it’s a dodge.

As an American, are you vaguely familiar with the Constitution, which dictates how many terms a person can serve as president? Is it worth discussing those facts? What you are bringing up about Texas lawmakers is the degradation of the United States as a country - it can be adorned any way you wish, but in the end, that is the law of the land. There is no need of further discussions about this topic. You get it or don't, it is the same to me.

MAGAisAMess's avatar

Yes, I’m familiar with the Constitution. I’m also familiar with the fact that authoritarians test limits by floating ideas that chip away at it. Proposing a 3rd term may not be legal, but it signals a willingness to undermine constitutional norms — and that’s exactly how erosion begins. As for Texas, calling democratic backsliding ‘the law of the land’ doesn’t make it healthy for democracy. If your position is that it’s not worth discussing, that says more about your comfort with these abuses than it does about the facts themselves.

MAGAisAMess's avatar

If your meaning was packed in, it must be sealed pretty tight — because nothing you’ve said actually addresses the point. Care to unpack it so we can have a real discussion? Cause I know for a fact that us Americans are NOT looking for a supreme leader! And like I said we are all being forced into one. Pretty simple decipher

Thomas Dillhunt. Strongly agree with you and with Michael Cohen. People: Watch the video Ben showed of the hundreds of thousands of Israeli people protesting their government, and learn from it. I was frankly disappointed to see so few people protesting inside the WH in support of the Democratic legislator being held hostage for refusing to sign an illegal document. I more than appreciate the people who stood up and showed up. 🥂

The people asked Samuel for a king, Samuel asked the Lord what he should tell them...

“This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights:

He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots... others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers.

He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants.

Your male and female servants and the best of your cattle and donkeys he will take for his own use. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves.

When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”

Matthew 7:21-23

I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

To my knowledge, real Americans don’t want a supreme leader, but, if we were looking to elect one though, he/she definitely would not be an entitled convicted rapist/felon. Nor would he/she be a pedophile, fraud, cheat or narcissistic asshole. I love the way trump is decorating the White House as if he IS supreme leader though, because it’ll make it all the more painful for him when it’s all taken. Bye bitch 👋🏼

Cheeto and Putin: The Lawless Immoral Evil Axis of Two

So being a Russian agent since the 1980’s and being rewarded with an endless stream of money from Russian oligarchs to keep his bankrupt businesses afloat(https://bit.ly/4188w5B) over the years, Cheeto being the lawless transactional scumbag he is, has decided to return the support to his Russian war criminal counterpart Hey, if you can shamelessly release a convicted three time convicted murderer onto the streets of Orlando, all of the J6 rioters, and an overwhelmingly too many to count convicted felons with pardons, what’s the big deal helping a war criminal extricate himself from a war he started(https://bit.ly/4mOD4Bw)

It’s clear that Putin is getting back his due from Cheeto who is putting together and overseeing a sweetheart “real estate Ukrainian land deal” for his fellow partner in crime while the European leaders watch the slicing and dicing of the sovereign country he invaded, claiming that historically all along it was his to begin with There are those who justify this imperialistic power land grab but who will be next? Azerbaijan, Turkestan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Tajikstan, Poland, Baltic states? But these aren’t as valuable as eastern Ukraine And who knows, Cheeto and his fellow dictator friend can split up the mineral rights spoils of a war gone horribly wrong

Putin is losing this war and bankrupting his country as Ukraine strikes strategic targets inside Russia crippling it’s oil industry and outsmarting the proud Russians on the Ukrainian battlefields despite being outnumbered Putin needs an exit strategy and Cheeto is providing him one

Oh my gosh! I was unaware that this sycophant had made a proposition to allow Trump to run in 2028!!!! I’m just sick about that but furthermore, I don’t think Trump has any plans for leaving Office. I also think that’s why he’s taking over DC and Los Angeles with the police. I think it’s a practice for what’s to come. It’s both sad and scary.

I for one am tired of approximately half the country being OK with all that the orange stain does. 26 years in the military and I feel like it's been a big joke on me. I was taught honor, courage, commitment. I do not see these values anywhere.

I despise what the Republican Party is allowing the orange stain to do. And yet they seem to have no trouble blowing a hole in our constitution-all for power. And what do the political parties want? Money! Money! Money!

What is the common denominator? Human nature. What is the answer to overcoming human nature? One self-serving individual will be replaced by another self-serving individual.

I can deal with the idea of Trump, as despicable as he is. He will die and that will be the end of him someday. But I cannot deal with the idea of about half the country thinking he's great. The United States will never regain its former status thanks to Trump. We will never have three coequal branches of government thanks to Trump. We will never be able to trust the government AT ALL because of Trump. He & his cult sicken me for what they have done to our once great country. 😔

Commander-in-Chief at Civil War: Jefferson Davis, Emerging Civil War, July 31, 2024 https://tinyurl.com/4def66wx

“[Davis] believed that the Confederate constitution made him the sole source of military authority and that he could personally command the army in an emergency.... “Davis wasted time on trash that ought to be dispatched by clerks.” Davis could not restrain himself from exercising his military authority. ... These actions highlight one of Davis’s fundamental failings, his inability to utilize talented subordinates for fear of being overshadowed. ... Davis also had difficulty admitting that he was wrong, especially regarding military matters. ... Davis had a sensitive ego and greatly valued loyalty from subordinates, causing him to retain those he liked even after they demonstrated incompetence. ... Davis betrayed a certain tone-deafness regarding foreign policy and diplomacy. ... Davis’s failure to use all his instruments of national power stems from mismanaging his cabinet. ... In a way, Davis was doomed to fail. ... Convincing the people of the individual states to sacrifice for the national effort was highly difficult, and Davis lacked the charisma and popular mandate to be a unifying figure.”
