Will someone please get a restraining order preventing anymore destruction of the east wing of the White House?

Bob's avatar

ISN'T THE WHITE HOUSE a HISTORICAL SITE and Can't be CHANGED??

Klaus Hergersheimer's avatar

As you and I know MAGAs do as they please since laws are meant for everyone else to obey. As Donny likes to brag, he has the cards.

Bob's avatar

He was GIVEN cards. They Can be, as they say, TRUMPED

RJ Rentals's avatar

Yes, Scotland knows bout Getting Trumped— he’s shit in his mother’s homeland.

He only has respect for a Happy Meal and causing pain to others for his own pleasure.

NO republiCRAP is. Their elevators don't go to the top floor.

RJ Rentals's avatar

That is uniquely funny- thx

Jean Conley's avatar

You're welcome, RJ! Can't claim credit for the originality of it--I read it (actually quite a few years ago) but I can't remember the article or wherever it was. I doubt it's copyrighted or I'd have been in trouble a LONG time ago! I'd say use it all you want in your comments! It's definitely true of the Deranged Moron in the Oval Office and his republiCRAP airhead cronies.

does it matter? Unless the British burn it down again around him, he could care less. He wants his pimp crib and nothing will stop him.

E L Nolan's avatar

very true. I'd wager Greenland would like a piece of the fun too.

RJ Rentals's avatar

He forgot about Greenland when he forgot about Epstein and his survivor girls.

Helen Stajninger's avatar

The changes must be approved first, but of course Trump doesn’t obey rules or laws and did it anyways

Heather Marie's avatar

Then isn't he breaking the law? Because according to the news it's happening? It belongs to the people and it is very historic. Who's stopping him?

Teri Gelini's avatar

He chose to not get the authority or the permits to do any of the work. Someone posted the historical Society process for Washington DC since the White House is a Historical site and there are rules re how you change or alter it and must have the permits to touch it. I hope someone sue and it has to come to a screeching halt!

RJ Rentals's avatar

Wasn’t America a Tripartite Democracy?.. . And a world leader in scientific research and technology before the MAGAts took over Reason?

Heather.B's avatar

This is plain Sickening! The White House does NOT belong to Trump!

The White House is officially designated as a National Historic Landmark with protections and preservation requirements. Probably one of the big reasons why Trump wanted the government to shut down, so no oversight committee could stop him from destroying the people’s house... 🤦‍♀️

This is another step in Trump’s attempt to demolish the United States. Before he was figuratively destroying its reputation. But now he's actually destroying the building!

It's just a dictator move by him who thinks he owns the White House and has no plans to ever leave.

He destroys everything he touches: Jacqueline Kennedys rose garden destroyed and replaced by a ugly slab of cement and now he's literally destroying the White House for his PATHETIC gaudy ballroom. When is enough enough?

There are a lot of horrible things that will define the legacy of MAGA and the destruction of the White House is one of them. What he is doing to the House and to this country is unforgivable.

This "We the People are PISSED OFF" T goes everywhere with me 👇

https://libtees.dashery.com/products/78782439-we-the-people-are-pissed-off-t-shirt

Get out and make your voice heard! We’ve had enough of this crap from Trump and his regime. We The People, are the Governance of this nation!

Klaus Hergersheimer's avatar

The Pedophile Rapist had no intention to leave in January 2021, but Pence did the right thing for probably the only time in his disgusting life and certified the 2020 election. Donny Boy has since said that leaving was his ONLY mistake in Trump 1.0. We can be sure he won't leave in 2029. Our only salvation is if he finally croaks or goes full dementia and then the cowardly Republicons in congress might realize they have to remove him before he blows up the world.

J Dunce Vance is a lightweight who cannot command the adoration and twisted love the MAGA faithful have for the worst president ever and possibly the worst person ever to walk the earth.

Pat Robinson's avatar

For the GOP Congress never...they will support trump till whatever the end is, gleefully hurting as many of their constituents as possible along the way. I do hope that once they are all gone whoever becomes president will start a project to rebuild the East Wing as it originally was and use marble or some material from each state to rebuild and have volunteers of all races and every state come and do a little of the building. Since the White House does not belong to trump, maybe if we regained the Senate and even the House we could do this without the approval of the president....will be great to have all the Republicans go on record saying they do not support that move, they prefer a ballroom for billionaires.

Janet Wilson's avatar

Ditto for the Rose Garden. There is something particularly malicious about paving over such a beautiful space.

Pat Robinson's avatar

True, but the GOP Congress has no appreciation of beauty or kindness. We can and will find those things in many many other places, but it is very sad that the GOP took away the Rose Garden and the White House.

Janet Wilson's avatar

Were they even consulted? Increasingly, he just pretends Congress is irrelevant.

Pat Robinson's avatar

Not pretending, they are. There really is no need to consult them as they will approve anything he asks for. But it would be nice to have each one on record saying yes they want the East Wing of the White House demolished for a ballroom none of their constituents will ever get to step foot in.

Debra Curry's avatar

Trump knows he can do whatever he wants and Congress won't stop him. Sc will give him legal coverage. He honestly believes it is HIS property to do whatever he wants with.

Robin's avatar

just like he believed classified documents were his to do/store/sell however he liked

No Handle!'s avatar

Maybe he could just live at Mar Lago permanently. and zoom his pitiful press conferences. Golf when he wants. DeSantis and he could become even closer. No planes as he has no place to go. It would save the other countries money as well.

Bob's avatar

I hear he's in poor health. Heck

Heather Soper's avatar

I'm in England and I'm really pissed off. How on earth is this nightmare going to end?

He is so deluded, he thinks the WH is HIS, when will America be rid of this total insanity? Is there Nothing that can be done to get him out and into prison where he and the rest of the psychos belong?

Susan J Kula's avatar

He has to be charged with Treason that gets him and his cabinet out all in one sweep. Even Vance would out.

Sue Marie's avatar

I don't think the Founding Fathers thought of things like Trump does. Since his 1st term, I kept saying they have to start changing laws,... so he can't take advantage of presidential power. Pardoning his criminal friends, the Jan 6th rioters, even the violent ones and now Santos? So much abuse of power.

I'm in Canada and probably as outraged as you. What bothers me the most is his does his corruption in plain sight and gets away with it. Instead of stopping him when he mentions something like building the ballroom, it happens and then they say it's illegal. Seems even so, there's no consequences and that's where most of the problems lie.

Bob's avatar

It's probably illegal

Janet Wilson's avatar

I think the preconditions are there, but who would have the courage to lay the charges??

Bob's avatar

AND THE REASON HE SHOULD BE REMOVED ASAP

Joanne Steacie's avatar

Right, Heather! My rage matches yours!

RJ Rentals's avatar

I’m wondering what Vance will do when he takes over. I’m thinking he’ll keep it the same, as what Trump does is irreproachable?

Janet Wilson's avatar

Vance will never "take over". He is a puppet and even his own party loathes him. At best he will be a front man for Vought and Miller.

So much depends on the midterms, folks!

Edie Sadowski's avatar

WOW!😱😱😤😡 What next, gold foil on the Statue of Liberty or the Washington Monument! tRump has to go, NOW!!!!!

Sue Marie's avatar

Did you see he wants to put up a big arch? Donald Trump wants to build a triumphal arch across from the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, the latest in his efforts to make over the capital city in his style. The so-called Arc de Trump.

No Handle!'s avatar

Insanity, Depravity, and Decadence all rolled up into one individual.

Klaus Hergersheimer's avatar

How about removing the statue of Miss Liberty on the Capitol dome and replacing it with a statue of Princess Ivanka. How's that for class?

Heather Soper's avatar

OMG I hope he does not but I put Nothing past this monster.

io bonini's avatar

Agree with you Ms.D., but that would require some forceful leadership.

And all we seem to have are Dem “hand wringers”.

And courts that undermine leadership when they stand up.

With a few exceptions.

Janet Wilson's avatar

Good grief, what do you expect Democrats to do right now? By hook or by crook they do not hold the balance of power in the House or the Senate, and Republicans in Congress are setting new lows across the board.

"Forceful leadership"?? What does that look like? When the Supreme Court has just been asked to allow Trump to move the military into states at will?

Unless the American people stand up and demand a return of their democracy, and stop expecting "someone" to ride to their rescue, America is poised to fall into iron fisted autocracy, policed by the Proud Boyz.

io bonini's avatar

Hey Janet, good points. That said, how about not voting for the Republican nominees or their policies? And maybe the Dems should support people in their party who actually win. Can you say Mamdani ?

Janet Wilson's avatar

Agreed Io, I was sick when Democrats voted for Republican nominees and policies. How Trump and his cronies must have laughed. And Mamdani...he has just the energy, community spirit and wild optimism the electorate is longing for.

The USA needs to bring its campaign finance laws into the 21st century, in line with other western democracies. The creep of anti-democratic, anti-taxpayer politics (and the wishy-washy performance across Congress) is directly tied to donor pressure, lobbying and dark money.

io bonini's avatar

Hey Janet...and here's the thing, I actually think Sen. Schiff does a good job, right? He's articulate, smart, cares about his people, but...instead of sounding powerful and positive in interviews he sounds like a milk toast. So, then the question is, Does it matter that he/they sound like milk toast? I say YES IT DOES! Because when you sound like a milk toast, people who pay attention have zero confidence in your ability to get some justice done or worse people think that you are completely out of touch with "the break glass" moment we find ourselves in because of Merrick Garland and the failure of his office. I suppose that's "sandbagging", and water under the bridge, but let's not forget.

Finally, of course it's "citizens united" maybe rename it..

Roberts Revenge part 1. And if we remember our history...Dems helped put these crooks on the court, I'm talking...Roberts, Thomas, Alito, When they knew they had shall we say "issues". Once again I was yelling at my radio when these creeps got on the bench. Thank you Ms. Janet for your thoughtful missives, appreciate them very much.

Janet Wilson's avatar

You do put your finger on a perennial problem: diction. It sounds silly, but Trump can talk in a 1970's slang vernacular that gets through to his base, makes them think he gets them and has their back.

I agree that poised, educated diction is working against some politicians right now. They should study the way Bernie Sanders communicates...plain spoken, to the point, in everyday language, short and pungent statements folks can easily understand, quickly.

Much as I liked Kamala Harris, it was Governor Walz who could really talk to the electorate. That easy style of communication is worth studying...

David Maceira's avatar

Like a true cult leader t and his regime is deploying daily bouts of pain and suffering. Essentially trying to torture victims into submission. However, the t regime has overlooked a couple of things. Oppression breeds resistance. And the sell by date on cults and their leaders is extremely short.

My congresscon says the short-fingered vulgarian has a Mandate from the American People to do what is Best for America, and shut up about all that stuff.....OK, those were not Mr. Langworthy's exact words - but it was certainly the thought behind them, and he's always telling me about that Mandate and protecting America from commies and immigrants.

Debbi's avatar

He definitely does not have a mandate to do the destruction he’s getting away with. More people voted for someone other than Trump to be the president than voted for him. Also a number of people who voted for Trump are now saying they didn’t vote for this agenda. Please tell your Congressman that Trump’s policies are hurting ALL of his constituents and he will probably not be reelected. I’m not worried about “commies and immigrants”; I’m worried about all of the violent criminals Trump is pardoning and the government corruption we are seeing on a daily basis.

Ellie still in the mix in 26's avatar

I tell him all that, and so much more. I'm always surprised when he answers (or whatever staff member does it for him), because I thought by now, my missives would go straight to recycle.

No Handle!'s avatar

Exactly. My two senators have told me they are voting with Trump. They both need to do some serious critical thinking. One was given at least $285,000 from a politically conservative organization. I have said many times campaign financing rules need drastic change.

Ellie still in the mix in 26's avatar

My Senators are Schumer and Gillibrand. Schumer was only elected the last time, because he wasn't the Republican, and should have stepped down, long before this. But, I'm sure he'll write another "strongly worded letter," to the short-fingered vulgarian.

Bob W's avatar

Isn’t the White House the American People’s House? I don’t recall being asked for permission to deface it!

cnlights2's avatar

He'll eventually tear it all down. He's making history his story. Wtf is congress??

Heather Marie's avatar

Please! Stop the destruction of our country!

RJ Rentals's avatar

He has no respect for those who built the White House, or the values those people had.

Trump sees the WH as just a cheap block house flip for his profit and pleasure, and, in his case,Inflated Id.

He’ll sell the crap outta plates in that ballroom, just as he does with 1,000,000 Plates at M Largo.

Trump thinks of his office as the profiteering opportunity of a lifetime— and he’s using it!. . . .

Trump’s definition of an ally is anyone that praises and pays him. He has no concept of what a US ally is.

Jeana Tillery's avatar

Trump’s tariffs are coming back to bite all of us.

D Chandler's avatar

Is there a list of concrete tariff agreements signed? With Japan withdrawing from trumps offer including a cash component?

Jeana Tillery's avatar

The actual commitments made by these other countries always seem to turn out different than what Trump has claimed.

So, we’ll just have to follow up on it and see overtime, what the countries actually invest into the US economy.

Probably both , but notice how jd is suddenly more prominent as we see the ravages of time taking trump down. Everything in this regime is calculated.

Stop that! Everyone implicated in the Epstein files must be prosecuted!

Release the Epstein files!
