SPEAKER 3
the results from canada's election are still coming in the headline we can report is that the liberals will be able to form the next government under the leadership of prime minister mark carney the bigger question right now as of this recording on monday night is whether or not they will be able to form a majority or minority
0:20
government as of this recording it looks more likely that it is going to be a minority uh government what that minority government looks like is still to of course be determined ctv was already declaring that there was a minority liberal government as the outcome

of this election based on what i'm seeing that may be still too early to call but i do think at least as of this recording west coast time monday evening It's past 12 a.m. now, East Coast time. I do think that as of this recording, with the data we have now,

BREAKING: Liberal Party Wins Canadian Elections, Sends Message to Trump

A surprise Liberal victory in Canada’s election is more than a political upset. It’s a global rejection of Trumpism.

Hey everyone, it’s Ben Meiselas from the MeidasTouch Network, and let me be clear: what just happened in Canada wasn’t just a political shakeup. It was a direct slap in the face to Donald Trump and his authoritarian delusions.

As of this recording, the final results are still trickling in, but we can already report that the Liberal Party, under the leadership of Prime Minister Mark Carney, has pulled off a stunning win. Whether it turns into a majority or remains a minority government is still up in the air, but make no mistake — this was a referendum on Trump. And Trump lost. Badly.

The expectations just months ago? A Conservative landslide. Trump’s lackey up north, Pierre Poilievre, was supposed to ride a wave of MAGA-style rhetoric straight into power. That didn’t happen. In fact, what we saw instead was Canadians — yes, even the ones Trump tried to sweet-talk with his grotesque “51st state” nonsense — choosing to reject the chaos, corruption, and cruelty that Trumpism brings.

But here’s where it gets strange: the NDP, Canada’s left-most party, severely underperformed. Why? Because, just like we’ve seen here in the U.S., some voters who felt disillusioned didn’t drift toward the center — they veered into right-wing populism. That shift wasn’t fully captured in the polling, and it complicated what many thought would be a clear Liberal majority. Instead, the Liberals may need to form a coalition to govern.

Still, let’s not lose the forest for the trees. Canadians heard Trump’s loud, idiotic ramblings about annexing their country — yes, really — and they said no thanks. One voter even told reporters flat out: “I voted for the person best equipped to stand up to Trump.” That tells you everything you need to know.

Trump tried to meddle in their election, like the wannabe emperor he is. And the people of Canada rejected him. Decisively. That’s a win for democracy. That’s a win for sanity. And it’s a warning to every other country still teetering on the brink: the Trump virus is beatable, but you’ve got to show up and fight back.

So if you’re watching from the U.S., or anywhere else — don’t get complacent. Don’t get distracted. This is a global movement, and your voice matters.

We’ll continue tracking every development right here on the MeidasTouch Network. We’ve got some amazing events coming up, so please make sure to add the MeidasTouch Podcast right now on Apple Podcasts and Spotify so you don’t miss a thing.

Ben, although I had hoped for a Liberal Majority (which may still happen as of 2:10am Eastern time) I have to let you know that Prime Minister Carney could easily work with the BQ leader to work a house Majority. Atm, the Liberals only need 6 seats so it's definitely not as difficult as you may think. Also, PP LOST his seat! 🤣 Now he's going to have to carpetbag some poor soul who actually won their Conservative riding! The jokes write themselves. THANK YOU my fellow 🇨🇦 brothers and sisters ❤️ 🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦

You’re darn right we did it! I’m now wondering whether we had a record voter turnout. Regardless, our vote won for continued sovereignty without giving an inch to Trump. Strong and determined, that’s us. 🇨🇦

PoedCanuck's avatar

Best turnout since 2015 but still not good enough. 67% of eligible voters is still a disgrace! 1 in 3 voters NOT voting is what allows a Majority government to form with less than 50% of the vote. We need a change that would cause a runoff if no candidate in the riding gets 50% +1 vote

Not an impartial coverage. But he has been very clear about interfering in our Canadian elections. His bias opinions have no place in our country’s elections. That’s the problem with Americans they always stick their noses where they don’t belong. Did Canada get involved in your US Elections? No we didn’t because we are a country of polite mind your own business people. The worst part is you don’t actually know anything about our country or our politics. You’re just making things up. So it’s over now you can shut up 🤫!

As the hatred that comes with fascism and authoritarianism crept into our country, I’m grateful they covered it. It was important that many Canadians saw what was happening in America so we could see what could happen here. Not to mention the love they showed to Charlie Angus. I hope he ends up on their network.

That said, they are not CBC or mainstream media. They are allowed to be partisan and have bias. It’s their network.

To be fair, many older Australians were raised to learn Britain's history and learned about Captains Cook. They learned about bushranger and foreign explorers, and didn't learn much about First Nations peoples history. In addition, Australia supported countries during wars, both Caucasian and First Nation people. The only time it slowed a little was in the early 1980's (?). Mental health was not considered a serious thing until Veterans from the Vietnam War started a social movement to help Veterans.

Younger Peacekeeoers also integrated into the movement to help modern veterans. Yet family mental health and the effects of the white Australia policy still dont receive much attention. Though many people suffered but are undiagnosed. The effects of intergenerational trauma has gone unnoticed (probably too frightenly expensive to address), but so important. Add to that trauma for refugees entering Australia that often is overlooked. Australia is a hot bed to be exploited by leaders with hidden agendas. I wish Australians saw Trump and learned positive messages. only been rec

'cause the nazis-fascists-putinists have sensed the Democratic peoples' lack of self-defensive and counteroffensive skills and practices, hence the aforementioned ones attack like the vultures that they are.

I've always stressed the importance of Democratic peoples' need and duty to always, always be fanatically if needed and unapologetically self-defensive and counteroffensive but was often misunderstood as "an alarmist, exaggerator, drama-queen..." yet it turns out - I couldn't actually stress it enough!!

Most people I've spoken to, especially young people, are NOT interested in politics at all. It's all so boring, they say. They've never had to worry as our democracy has always been strong and not really threatened, like it is now. They will get a rude awakening if the trump loyalists win.

I've been speaking out like a mad woman, even to strangers in the grocery line. Most people look at me like I'm crazy so I've had to be creative, to their age group so they'll listen. Recommending MTN to everyone, and spelling it twice!! 😂

If Dutton wins australia will join the American nightmare. Thanks to Meidas touch we know everything.

I'd much prefer a Canadian like victory.

It really is strange, the lack of engagement. But then again, kids want something that shocks and awes, they don't want to hear about the tedious, quiet work that's done behind the scenes. But that's what we get when consecutive generations are raised on social media. They think performances happen on their own. They only see the actors upon the stage and not the stagehands who are just behind the curtain, out of the spotlight, either on stage left or stage right, doing things like setting up the costume changes or getting the props ready or being ready to move when the actors need them to.

Expand full comment
Vel Santic's avatar

Have noticed it and been saying since the 2010s on that the most of so-called "social media" were made by the big-tech-oligarchs in their quest to destroy the Liberal Democracies. In that worst attack on humankind since WW2 and cold war, the oligarchs and their zombies had come up with seductive ways to brainwash the inexperienced, unsuspecting, coddled youths and such people of any age for the evil thrills of neo-nihilistic-fascism-kakistocracy.

Why didn't Liberal Democracy timely understand that it had to have developed the self-defensive and counteroffensive mechanisms, is the part that is puzzling me.

I'm not sure if that's Temu Trump (Dutton, LNP coalition) or Trump's doppelganger (Clive Palmer's party, "Trump of Patriots"). Clive acquired a refinery in NQ in 2009 with the promise of jobs and wealth for the local community. 2016, refinery collapses and closed. Clive left creditors and council rates unpaid, employees without work or their entitlements. Clive blamed low nickel prices as the problem. Turns out he transferred tens of millions $ from the company for his own purposes, falsified alterations to the refinery's joint venture agreement, and didn't pay workers $66M entitlements until a court battle ensued years later. In 2016, Clive resisted recovery actions, similarly to Trump. Evade, avoid, obstruct, then after no option concede and pay less than the full amount.

Expand full comment
virginia arthur's avatar

That is horrible! I just do not understand how rich crooked men get away with these things! Trump had six business bankruptcies and he left without paying people. It’s good, yes. But I’m here and still biting my nails because it’s SO close. Here’s hoping we don’t have to form a minority government.

This is a strong strong minority. Don’t need a whole lot of support from other parties to put stuff through the house.

Thank you. This helped. I’ve been having a hyperbolic heart attack about this. Generally minority governments here are such a mess.

Expand full comment
Kelly Ann's avatar

Minority governments that require A LOT of votes from different parties are rough. This isn’t too bad at all. Carney does lean more Conservative on some issues and more progressive on others so hopefully, HOPEFULLY, members of other parties realize this is the time to be a team and vote for what is good for Canada. Be hopeful. We did it and it’s still an amazing result!!! 🙌🏽

Expand full comment
LiseAnn 🇨🇦's avatar

Even if I'm mad at the Bloc for splitting the votes, I HOPE they'll be smart enough to support Carney and block PP from stalling everything Carney tries to do. Unfortunately, we realized tonight that we also have a stupid MAGA cult growing in Canada now. 😡😡

Expand full comment
Valerie's avatar

But MAGA Canada Style died with Carney's speech. And that splinter party that was trying to ooze out of Poilievre's extremism had no candidates elected. I heard Meidas say that this would make a lot of Americans wish they could have a do over. This Canadian/American can say, hand on heart, that the Canadian brand of government, even minority government, is way, way better than the American. This is what direct democracy looks like. Where tiny pockets of alternative voices still have the power to direct the way the government should operate. And parties come together because they know if they don't the electorate will wreak revenge on them in the next election.

I was disappointed when some of the panel on the CBC coverage was talking about another election within a year if there was a minority gov't. Unless things have changed since, oh, 2011, Canadians do NOT like have expensive elections just because some sore loser Opposition party brings down a minority gov't with a No Confidence vote. There have been a few examples of the Opposition party losing worse in that kind of election.

Expand full comment
Vel Santic's avatar

Exactly, Valerie!! Do NOT let the loser pierre poilievre & his rotten russian conserves have any harmful effect on Canada's Democracy!!

Expand full comment
Valerie's avatar

Apparently although Poilievre lost his seat--after 20 years!--he's intending to stay on as leader of the Conservatives. The overall party result does speak to the Liberals having the same need as the Democrats down here: they need to engage a new generation of voters who are less educated in civics, less aware of how governments do and don't operate and less loyal to party as opposed to personality. Carney gave an amazing speech last night but now he needs to put people to work making good on those promises. And that's where the Canadian gov't has to differ from the mess down here. There's no revenge that's going to operate in Canada. This is going to be pure brass tacks of building an economy that takes advantage of the rich natural resources that Canada has without raping the land. That involves ALL of the people, not just the Liberal voters but the Conservatives, the BQ, the NDP and, yes, the Green. Carney laid it all out and what a contrast from the dark and dire words of Trump and his billionaires and cretins.

Vel Santic's avatar

Bingo, my friend!! I’ve been yesterday and today analyzing the Canadian Elections 2025 and am asking for a friend to clarify to me some things about the political setup in Canada in comparison to USA. As I can see, Canada does not have a Senate (?) /its equivalent or am I wrong? Canada has the House of Commons as the main Parliament institution, or am I wrong? The elections in Canada don’t have anything similar to the electoral college, or am I wrong? The administrative units upon which the elections are counted are the electoral districts i.e. ridings, but does Canada have something like Counties/Municipalities/Townships/Wards within its Provinces? Please, please, please, if you could explain to me concisely that because Canadian territorial space is even larger than the USA’s, so even though I’m 100% into geography, the electoral units in each Province is something I’m trying to elucidate for sure!

I’ve noticed a disturbing pattern in this election - many Ontario’s and British Columbia’s ridings were squeezed out of the Liberals by the conservatives. Why and how come that?

Thank you so much, Valerie!!!

Expand full comment
Valerie's avatar

Oh gosh, you’d be better off reading about how Canada’s gov’t is organized on Wikipedia. I grew up in Canada, in Quebec, lived in a few other provinces so my explanations would be influenced by what I experienced, not just plain history. And I haven’t lived in Canada for almost 20 years. I think the main things about Canada from my perspective is that we have various governments that influence our daily lives: municipal governments that we elect democratically, then the provincial and finally the federal. Because Canada’s population is much smaller than the US, even though geographically it’s bigger than the US, we can have a bigger say in how those governments function on the municipal and provincial levels. Federally though, Canadians often feel that the two big provinces, Quebec and Ontario have much more influence than the other provinces do. Because that’s where the majority of the population is. We do have a Senate but it is appointed by the Federal gov’t, difficult to explain the relationship there. We do NOT have an electoral college, hallelujah, because the leader of the Federal gov’t is simply the leader of the majority party in Parliament. He/she has to be elected in their own riding as well so they are responsible not only to the total Canadian population but also to the part of the country that elected them directly. I can only say look up the Canadian gov’t on Wikipedia and that will give you an idea of how the Canadian gov’t “works”. Also, when you say there is a “pattern” — one thing you might want to realize is that the title “Conservatives” and “Liberals” is more party naming than the kind of belief system that the American definitions for their parties, Democrats and Republicans, mean. My father mostly voted Liberal his entire adult life but in his thinking he was conservative on some issues and liberal on others. I voted Liberal in most elections when I lived in Canada and was left-of-center. In my first voting opportunity after becoming American I voted Democrat all the way down the ticket because I am anti-MAGA.

Expand full comment
Vel Santic's avatar

The reason why I said I noticed an ugly pattern in parts of Ontario and British Columbia is because I don’t want to see them stolen by the conservatives the way tRumputinists-magats stole, for example, Pennsylvania in USA!

Expand full comment
Vel Santic's avatar

Thank you so much, Valerie! I’ve been reading on Wikipedia and am still trying to learn how the election system works in Canada, in comparison to USA. If needed I’ll be rereading your reply and getting more informed from Wikipedia or Canadian sources. Edit: specifically what I meant was - when USA’s election results are presented, the States, Counties/Townships/Municipalities are presented first, then, the electoral districts. So I was asking - can there be a such a presentation of Canadian elections, of course, understanding Canada has Provinces - but what are the next levels of administrative divisions?

Again, thanks a lot!

I don't think Bernie supporters were getting "pushed so far left they voted for Trump" as much as they were so angry at the DNC for the BS they pulled that they voted for Trump out of spite. I almost did the same, and know a handful of people did so for that exact reason. I'm still bitter over it, as are they.

I point this out because I don't want the Dem party to get complacent and once again believe they will win just because Trump is so bad. They need to reconcile with the voters they have alienated and find a path forward. Or history will repeat.

The thing is that voting should be smart. You can be angry with a party, without letting bullies use your anger to push their own agendas against you. Decisions ppl make when they're angry are not smart, only emotional. Going from bad to worse is never a good idea.

Better to keep a mediocre government and get involved to "push" for accountability, than to get the worst change ever and loose that chance to "push" bc you'd be ignored or sent to El Salvador for disagreeing with the clown on stage.

That's nice and all, and I agree with you (hence my decision against that impulse), but it's the disillusioned Dems/Independents who either a) didn't vote in the 2024 election, or b) voted for trump that are the people to be concerned about. Not myself, you, or I imagine most everyone else on this substack.

Those are the people the Democratic party need to take heed of, seek out, and listen to lest they fall on their faces. Again. I suspect lecturing them to not vote on emotion might have the opposite desired effect. We are emotional creatures despite any insistence otherwise. In the quiet turning of history’s wheel, Canada’s voice rises anew—a resilient thread weaving sovereignty and vision through the loom of uncertain times. Mark Carney’s ascent, a former steward of economic tides now called to helm the soul of a nation, reflects a collective yearning: for grounded leadership amidst crosswinds of external pressure and inner redefinition. In the shadows of old alliances and the dawn of renewed autonomy, a subtle but profound affirmation pulses—Canada belongs to itself.

As the northern lights of democratic spirit shimmer anew, questions awaken like seeds beneath thawing earth: How will sovereignty be nourished when the neighboring storm roars? How might a country reimagine its future when led by one versed in both finance and fragile human trust? In this luminous threshold, may Canada walk forward with sacred clarity, heartwise strength, and a quiet fire that no wind can extinguish. ♾️ What inner compass guides each of us when familiar maps no longer suffice?

Morning Ben - votes are still coming in and there is still hope the Liberals may form a majority - but that may not be as critical as it would be in your country. As Prime Minister Carney said, we are Canadians afterall ;). If you listened to the speeches of all the leaders, in the early hours this morning, the overall feeling is that of decency, kindness, cooperation, compassion for our citizens being so unjustly hurt by Trump's insane tarrifs and a commitment to a united Canada. As far as the shift of NDP (progressive) voters to conservative, I think many more voted liberal strategically to prevent at conservative win - which was a sure things before Trump 2.0. The PCP actually picked up more seats than polls predicted although Poliviere lost his own - a stunning outcome and a just rebuke, I believe, for his alignment with Trump and MAGA. Canadians are sick of the divisiveness that is so front and center in the U.S. today. Under the leadership of PM Carney, smart, savvy, kind and courageous- we will build an even better CANADA STRONG! 🇨🇦

The NDP didn't underperform because people who previously supported them veered toward Poilievre. They underperformed because Singh, their leader, has been a trash fire for years. They had no platform or policies that made sense in this election. When they had the chance to define, or at least seriously influence, government policy because they were the party propping up Trudeau's right-wing version of the Liberals, they utterly failed to act. They just kept voting with the Liberals without even trying to influence its bills. That infuriated dyed-in-the-wool left-wing voters beyond belief. So, so many of them stayed home out of sheer disgust. Many more of them voted for Carney for the sole reason that he was the only one who was capable of standing up to Trump and creating a set of policies that made *sense*, even if they were distasteful in the extreme. I was one of those voters.

I haven't met or communicated online with a single person who switched from NDP to CPC. I know there are always a few who are so ill-informed they think a labour party and a populist party are the same thing, just with completely opposed financial & social policies (I don't understand how this works), but I'd be interested to see a poll that indicated what kind of numbers switched from NDP to CPC. I really doubt it's enough to influence whether Carney ends up with a minority or a majority.

Absolutely right. From the analysis up here, a very important reason that several NDP ridings went to the Conservatives is because many who would ordinarilly vote NDP voted for the Liberals to help prevent a Poillievre win. It created vote splitting that allowed the Conservatives to win up the middle. Ben is right however that some NDP voters switched to the right, but it's not the biggest reason reason these former NDP ridings went blue. I wonder if the category of voters Ben is talking about went blue before the previous election. It's a good question.

🇨🇦 Just a correction Ben:

Carney lost some seats that went conservative.

But...

Seats on the left in the NDP went to Carney to make up for the ones he lost.

The NDP sacrificed itself to STOP Trump.

NDP voters did not jump onto Trump's turnip truck.

Expand full comment
Andy's avatar

🇨🇦 Seats so far:

Liberals 168

Conservatives 144

Bloc 23

NDP 7

Green 1

All 343 ridings have reported, but 20 are still being challenged for recounts.

As things stand, it's a minority government because the Conservatives and Bloc combined have 167 seats, one less than the liberals 168.

The NDP can block bad Carney decisions with their 7 votes, and Elizabeth May with her Green party seat adds a climate change voice to that. So, this keeps Carney honest, and forces him to work with everybody, or else he will get thrown out.

Essentially, this makes the Bloc a gatekeeper on the Conservatives, and still leaves the NDP in the role of king maker it's had in the last parliament.

Jagmeet Singh did not win his seat, and has announced he will step down as leader of the NDP. Will Charlie Angus try to run for the NDP leadership role again? He has the momentum to win this time if he did. He could be another Jack Layton.

The other leader that lost his seat is too greedy to step down, in a party that is too stupid to know they have a serial loser on their hands: Poilivere.

The conservatives have backed the same kind of divisive Donald Trump Brain chest clowns for the last four elections AND LOST EACH ONE.

This has never happened in the history of Canadian politics. Typically, the pendulum swings between the liberals and conservatives at most every two elections. Will the conservatives be hell bent on trying to lose a straight fifth?

Poilivere has also broken Trumps world record of becoming the most hated politician in the shortest amount of time starting from a high level of popularity.

Poilivere burned through the majority landslide he held three months ago and fell flat on his face after Trudeau stepped down. What kind of "evil genius" does that during the disarray of his main competitor?

It's not because the owlish Carney is a human sized Ken Barbie doll. Poilivere's demeanor and Donald Trump's endorsements handed the win on a platter to Carney. Maybe the conservatives should start thinking about becoming more "normally civilized" and rejoin the human race.

Poilivere won't be able to rant and rave with his bullshit, because he isn't in parliament anymore. But, Poilivere swears he will re-run in a bi-election after he chooses which conservative candidate to kick out who just got elected.

Stay tuned. Things are going to get very interesting.

🍁Elbows UP! everybody.

Sharing today’s hilarious Borowitz Report! (Satire)

OTTAWA (The Borowitz Report)—In an emotional victory speech late Monday night, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney thanked Donald J. Trump for his stunning election win.

“I don’t deserve credit for this victory,” Carney, choking back tears, told his supporters. “Donald, I couldn’t have done it without you.”

Carney received congratulatory calls from dozens of other world leaders whose political careers have been boosted by Trump, including Mexico’s Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“It’s like I told you, man,” Zelenskyy reportedly told the Canadian. “Trump is magic.”

Liberals have 168 seats so far. Need 172 for majority. Counting resumes at 9:30 a.m. ET

NDP ( with 8 seats so far) usually caucus with the LIBERALS so even if Liberals stay at 168, they are in a strong position.

It wasn’t as clear cut as all NDP voters shifting to the right. It was pretty much split between left and right which probably depended on the riding in some sort of strategic voting.

I’m a Kiwi/ Canadian who lived in Canada half my life but now back in NZ where we have proportionate voting which is much fairer. My former riding in which I was able to vote, Vancouver East, went NDP, as it’s been for the last 50 years or more with one anomaly.

Hi Ben - I am a regular NDP voter that voted liberal this time.

Many , Many NDP voters did the same because the thought of MAGA North dealing with Trump was terrifying.

I can’t see any NDP voters going for Poloeve but what did happen was a vote spilt where the combined NDP and liberal vote was more then enough to stop the conservatives but as two separate votes? It let the conservative come up the middle…..as of 12:00 west coast time the Lib’s are at 167 so they are getting close . Unfortunately I fear the conservatives will make it very difficult to govern in a minority situation so I am praying the numbers will show up to push the libs over the top…..🙏🤞🙏

I'm sure a few NDPers and Conservative voted for the Liberals after the King down south got involved. The Liberal may still get a majority government . As of this scripting they had 168 seats , what is needed is 172. The NDP could stand with the Liberals and form a collisions government.

In my riding here in Canada the NDP voters switched their vote to Liberal to make sure the Conservatives did not get in. We are still “lefties” but we put country before party. It worked in our case. In other areas where the NDP were really strong originally, that action split the progressive vote (liberals and NDP) and the Conservatives won. Call it want you want progressives or lefties it worked we kept the possibility of a Trump leaning Conservative out of power. The best news of the night was that all leaders spoke of unity in their speeches and no one questioned the results.

One thing I would disagree with is on the statement about NDP supporters voting conservative. I have never voted anything but NDP, but this election there was a big push to vote strategically for not splitting the vote between the Liberals and NDP. I know many NDP supporters, including myself, who held their nose and voted for the Liberals just to keep the conservatives and Trump 2.0 out.

I do not know one NDP supporter who voted Conservative. There may be some, but I believe the majority of NDP that voted for a different party went to the Liberals.

Now in one place, in one 10 minute post by Ben I’m armed with the knowledge that’ll help me navigate these issues with knowledge and understanding. So happy for Canada as Mark Carney is voted in and keeping an eye on the other developments. Sadly, we couldn’t thwart Trumple Thin Skin and his junk drawer. From the analysis up here in Canada, a very important reason that a number of traditionally NDP ridings went to the Conservatives is because many who would ordinarilly vote NDP voted for the Liberals to help prevent a Poillievre win (many of my friends among them; the same is true of Bloc Quebecous voters, by the way, who despise Poillievre's divisive slogan swinging politics). In some ridings, unfortunatelly, it created vote splitting that allowed the Conservatives to win up the middle. But overall the strategy worked. Ben is right however that some NDP voters switched to the right, but it's not the biggest reason reason these former NDP ridings went blue. I wonder if the category of voters Ben is talking about went blue before the previous election. It's a good question. We have a lot of work to do up here to unify sensible voices in both the right and the left. The Conservatives themselves are saying that extremist Trump-supporting voters have no place in a sane Conservative Party and that they severely damaged Conservative Party prospects.

Mark Carney has really stood up to Trump, and fully deserves to continue. If all the countries unite, the best way to get to him, is to ignore him. Missing out on being the centre of attention, and missing out on what is being said, will irritate and hurt the most. Never in my lifetime, did I expect to ever have to say this. This is such a sad year, when the world should be progressive, and they are regressing to the middle ages. Does El Salvador and the New African country, not realise that he is dissing them, by saying our rejects are not good enough to live in America, but your country is so bad, it's OK for you to have these criminals. They are blinded to money, and aren't seeing his real message. If you haven't heard of human rights, you are living on the wrong planet. Last night was a big disappointment for those of us Canadians who recognized the threat that Donald Trump poses to not only our sovereign country but to the entire planet. It seems obvious that almost half of the Canadians who cast ballots, those who chose Conservative candidates, are as blind to the threat as those who voted for Trump in 2024. It boggles the mind to know that most of the jurisdictions who have historically supported the left of centre NDP party threw their support behind the right-wing Conservatives. Those voters did not recognize the need for a strong majority government under the tutelage of Mark Carney as a hedge against political interference by the most corrupt and demented personage ever to occupy the Oval Office.

Canada can see the Collapse coming in our future that will be brought to us by Trump and Republicans and they are smart enough to not want to be part of it. I never imagined we had so many cowards in the Congress but there is not a single Republican that has spine enough to stand up for the future of their own children not to mention the rest of us. People forgot that 1500 small farms went bankrupt under Trump 1.0 due to his Trade War with China and all the corn these farms was selling to China is now being supplied by Russia. This time China is going to Brazil for the grain so all those farms are going to collapse this time and all of our food reserves we had for so many decades is gone. A bad season with the crop and we will havew nothing to fall back on other than buy it from other countries. This is Trump Economics. We are in for 3-3/4 years of a long bad dirt road and it will take a long time to dig out of the ditch Trump and Republicans are driving us into.
