Here's everything you need to know — so far.

Hi all, Ben here. I hope you’re enjoying your Sunday. The Meidas team has been following all the latest developments today and I’ve put everything you need to know in my latest report. Thank you to all our subscribers for helping us to continue to grow our team and lead the way with our reporting. Consider becoming a paid subscriber today.

Here’s the latest.

When I watched the protests erupt in Seoul as Donald Trump landed in Malaysia, I couldn’t help but think how far we’ve fallen (it’s something I think about a lot, to be honest). Trump’s arrival in Asia was met not with respect or diplomacy, but outrage, with South Koreans taking to the streets over his attempt to extort their government for $350 billion. Trump reportedly warned that unless South Korea pays up, the U.S. will no longer treat it as a reliable trading partner. And yet, no one can seem to explain where that money would even go.

Once on the ground in Malaysia, Trump took the stage for what could only be described as a humiliating spectacle. He performed a bizarre, jerky dance before the audience (eerily reminiscent of the footage of him dancing with Jeffrey Epstein). Then came his so-called speech, an incoherent rant about broken escalators, teleprompters, and his “love” of getting involved with and “ending” wars.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, traveling alongside Trump, only made things worse. In an interview, Bessent brushed off the chaos at home, as millions of Americans losing healthcare and struggling with inflation, saying “what’s happening in North America is taking second fiddle to President Trump’s leadership out here in the Pacific.” Leadership? Trump’s behavior abroad was degrading America’s standing by the hour.

While Trump flaunted his power overseas, the suffering back home deepened. The government shutdown has entered its fourth week. Federal employees remain unpaid. Food lines stretch across cities. Forty-two million Americans risk losing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance benefits. And yet, the administration found $40 billion to hand to Argentina in a so-called “swap line” bailout that Bessent absurdly claimed was “America First.”

When pressed about rising grocery costs—coffee up 19%, beef up 15%, bacon up nearly 6%—Bessent accused journalists of “cherry-picking.” He insisted “everything is going down right now,” a claim so detached from reality it would almost be comedic if it weren’t so cruel. Americans know exactly what’s happening when they go to the store. They feel it every day.

Back in Malaysia, Trump bragged that his administration had brought “over $20 trillion worth of investment into the United States.” It is a total fabrication. A lie. A hoax. A scam. Trump’s math isn’t just wrong; it’s a cover for open corruption. America is being sold to the highest bidder, and Trump is cashing in.

Bessent’s arrogance reached new heights when asked why Trump didn’t disclose plans to bulldoze the entire East Wing of the White House to build his personal ballroom. His answer? “That was a judgment call. The president is a master builder.” The “master builder” is literally tearing down the people’s house, our house, for his own vanity project.

This isn’t leadership. It’s looting. It’s lying. It’s scamming. Trump’s Asia tour has once again shown the world a regime that mocks its citizens, profits off allies, and destroys the very institutions it claims to serve. The image of Trump dancing in Malaysia while Americans stand in food lines is not just an embarrassment, but a representation of everything wrong with this regime.

We are witnessing the moral depravity of a presidency that hates the country it leads. We will never “both-sides” or “sane-wash” what we are witnessing on a daily basis.
