Meidas gets political cartoonists! Now it's really going big time.

Philip, you know it is the paid subscribers who are contributing

$10 a month (cancel at any time)

making this additional content possible.

I see you are a subscriber because you have that little + sign on the lower right of your generic icon. All subscribers have that little + sign on the lower right of their icons.

Now as long as we are talking about icons, can I convince you to add an icon to your Substack profile, replace the generic one? I like icons, it is easier for me to remember people by their icons rather than names.

It's easy to do

Google: PROFILE ICONS

There are millions of free ones on the internet

Just download one on your device.

Go to your profile on Substack and

edit/add icon

Select the icon you downloaded

I am a paying subscriber and I don't see any + sign anywhere around my Icon. ????

Sylvia Arrowood's avatar

Same here. I am paying yearly but I don't see anything around my icon. And I chose a picture of myself and my husband instead of an icon.

I have learned that lesson of sticking your tongue on a cold metal pipe. It’s a lesson that most people only need to learn once. After that they never forget. Most people.

My dumb A$$ son in law gave my 2 young grandsons $5 to put their tongues on a steel pole and I have a picture of them crying. They didn't know any better. I helped my daughter

get a divorce from him before he killed her. Wife beater.

Sharon C Storm's avatar

I’m so sorry the children and your daughter had to go through that.

Shannyn Frank's avatar

Yes. I learned that lesson when I was 5 years old and visiting Canada with my family. Once was enough 😂😂

Suzette's avatar

I was lucky, I witnessed one of my older brothers do it, lesson learned.

Jennifer Rabuchin's avatar

LOL the truly intelligent learn from other peoples mistakes

Shannyn Frank's avatar

Yeah - my brothers witnessed ME doing it and never tried themselves :)

olderwoman's avatar

Yup!

BTDT (been there done that)

It will be fitting that on Donable Lectors final resting certificae it will say........"Depends diaper not changed in time. Extreme frostbite to buttox"

Hi Michael, welcome aboard. So you were once fired for drawing donald trump cartoons? Their loss and our gain. Draw all the donald trump cartoons your heart desires. We look forward to them.

Margaret's avatar

Michael, you are one of my favorite and most treasured commentators. Your cartoons are brilliant. So glad to see you here. Many thanks!

Sorry to be stupid. Who are the people in the background? Doesn't look like Trudeau or Sheinbaum?

MrsCQ's avatar

I was wondering the same thing but felt dumb asking - which reminds me, there is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers. Thanks for asking!

Daph Enby's avatar

I've followed Michael's cartooning for many years and have wondered the same (have tried to figure out who those 2 passersby might be; they often appear in his work). I have a impression that they aren't meant to be specific (recognizable) persons but represent 'man in the street' perspectives.

Ellen From NJ's avatar

That makes sense, especially if you’ve seen them before. Thanks!
