And “won” because of the pathetic lies he told about real statesman, Senator (now NASA Administrator) Bill Nelson.

Are the points of the threats intimidation? It seems to me that this is a true violation of the first amendment- the government cannot abridge free speech within reason. For instance, fomenting an insurrection might not be covered. I never thought this country would come to this.

DeSantis is a great example of having a fine education (Ivy League) being overcome by poor character development……the man is a self centered bully who likes to push people around….too short for his own good!🤨

Wish he would put on his boots and go away. Like Nancy Sinatra sang,”These boots are made for walking. “

Half of those "fine educations" of those who can afford it are bought and paid for not earned by learning anything

Education is not necessarily equal to wisdom: Case in point is DeSantis.

This is... just sickening. DeSantis is out of line, out of control and loves to ignore the "separation of church and state."

Many years ago, two different women in my family needed and got abortions in much wanted pregnancies because Roe was still in place in both Florida and New York. My sister-in-law had an ectopic pregnancy which ruptured. Had she not been able to abort, she would have hemorrhaged and died, leaving my brother-in-law and her older son. However, she survived and later had another son. In New York, a cousin was pregnant for a second time and was in a horrific car accident and ended up in a coma. Doctors told her parents ( first cousins to my mother ) that if they aborted, they could bring her out of the coma. She would still face a long recovery. However, she had been brought to a Catholic hospital. We're Jewish, and Jewish law on this is ancient and views the need for an abortion as though one was having an appendectomy--the fetus is a part of the mother's body and until it can breathe on its own, can be taken to save the mother's life, which is paramount in Jewish ethics and law. They fought in NY courts and took the fight up to the Supreme Court, which refused to take it up and sent it back to the state courts. First Lady Barbara Bush said she should be able to abort. Finally her parents and husband were able to have her moved to a different hospital and the abortion was performed. She survived and did have a long recovery.

These cases are personal to me.

And we have HIPPA privacy laws enacted during the administration of President George W. Bush and signed into law. Every time, we go to the doctor or something else, we have to sign to acknowledge this law.

And as VP Democratic candidate Tim Walz says, "mind your own damn business".

Jewish law is ancient. My mother was forced to carry a dead baby (died at 9 months) for two weeks until it passed in 1958. She told me and all the other pregnant women she knew that if they experienced problems back then - to go to a Jewish hospital. Only Jewish hospitals would put the mother’s life above the fetus.

Very sorry about what happened to your relatives. I can imagine many similar scenarios happening to people in the future if these policies are allowed to continue. My ex-sister-in-law had an ectopic pregnancy in Texas back in 1990. They did a D and C, I believe it is called. She and her husband are conservatives and I bet she still votes conservative despite the fact that if she were in this situation today, things would be turning out differently. Some people will never learn.

DeSantis really does rank up there in the evil self centered weird woman hater as Trump without the nasty smell. I can't wait for Karma to unleash her Special Justice on ALL of the MAGAt Republicans. It's been a slow wait but it wiil be coming soon 😈😄

Isn't there a new hurricane in the gulf heading straight for Florida? Maybe they should have called it Hurricane Karma. 😂 I remember in 2016 when Baton Rouge and the surrounding area flooded really bad. The then governor of Florida, Rick Scott, invited all the Louisiana businesses affected to move their businesses to Florida. This was just pure hatefulness! If these GOP politicians can't take the karma, they should get out of politics!!!

DeSantis has been lying in wait, anticipating his big moment where he impresses the Trump/Vance ticket into giving him a job next January. Maybe he's hoping for Secretary of Misogyny and Oppression of Women. He can also try for Secretary of Deportation and Racism.

Oh, come on. Six weeks? How about six hours, or six minutes for that matter. How many women don't even know they're pregnant in that time? That's one missed period, which could be for a variety of reasons. I am disgusted with authorities dumping their self-righteous hypocrisy on the public at large. The framers of the Constitution were well aware of the dangers of theocracies, and heads of state are sworn to uphold those principles. I wouldn't be surprised to see the public jettison Mr. Sanctiphonius in the next election. Dang, I'd better watch it. They're probably trolling this site right now.
