The Patriot Act played us for fools; we couldn't take this, that and other thing in our luggage. Couldn't wear whatever, take your shoes off on cold and dirty airport floors. Missing flights because they pulled someone out to go into a back room to be physically searched. I was flying out of LaGuardia the day the 1st Gulf War started. I had to leave my hot rollers behind because TSA said they looked like detonators! What?!? In 2010 my husband and I were flying out of Reagan in DC, which had been closed due to a week long blizzard. He was required to fly with medication, he had notarized statements from his Dr. yet they were still going to either keep us off the only flight we could get out on, or leave his meds behind. Someone came out of some back office and told TSA to cut the crap and we were able to fly out. After that day in April 2010 I swore to never fly again, and I haven't.
