I’ve got to say—hosting this Substack Live with my brother Brett and our friend Don Lemon was one of the most energizing moments we’ve had since launching here. And yes, it was a first: Don Lemon’s very first live appearance on Substack. And he brought the fire.
We launched MeidasTouch on Substack because we needed a platform that doesn’t censor independent voices or water down truth to appease corporate overlords. A place where facts matter and where community thrives. And having Don Lemon—a journalism icon and fearless truth-teller—join us on Substack? That speaks volumes.
Don's debut on Substack is already a powerful reminder of what makes this platform essential: authenticity, independence, and a real connection to the people. He talked about leaving the suits and makeup behind in favor of man-on-the-street reporting—capturing the raw, unfiltered voices that the corporate media too often ignores or distorts.
We laughed, we got fired up, and we dug into some real talk about Trump’s dangerous incompetence, the unraveling of his MAGA ecosystem, and the billionaire class that’s trying to buy our democracy—literally. Elon Musk dropping millions on races in Wisconsin like it’s Monopoly money? That’s not democracy. That’s oligarchy. And Trump’s cabal doesn’t even try to hide it anymore. Their SignalGate chats read like a frat house playing a video game with the U.S. government. It’s disgraceful.
Don said it best—people are waking up. And with his on-the-ground report, he is seeing this seismic shift happening firsthand. The Trump regime thought they could keep firing people, gutting veterans’ benefits, and giving power to unelected billionaires like Musk without consequences. But reality’s catching up with them. And thanks to independent journalism, the truth is getting out.
And we will keep laughing. Because as Don reminded us: joy is resistance. That’s why fascists hate humor—because when you mock them, you strip away their power. So yes, we’ll fight hard. But we’ll also cook breakfast, sing karaoke, and crack jokes about Trump’s sippy-cup America.
