If that were the case, why couldn’t blue states activate their own National Guard to protect polling places?. We already know that the National Guard can be activated by the state when there’s ice on the road.

I like your idea. Trump & Johnson are already talking negative with plans on the 2026 elections.

Tall One's avatar

I think they could be outnumbered. May be best for state election officials to begin training of volunteer “forces” to guard elections; find a way to whisk ballots and if possible voting equipment to undisclosed secure spot so chain of custody cannot be broken; and encourage voting by mail to approved drop boxes - not through federal USPS.

I think this idea should have been sprung in 2024. Now it is too late. What you've said takes logistics and thorough planning.

Rick Abrams's avatar

Are you ready to fight the US Marines?

Rick Abrams's avatar

Under Trump vs Illinois all Trump has to call is call out the US Marines and then he can then federal the state militia despite what the governor has done

Ken Salwitz's avatar

I like the idea of restriction of all ICE and CBP activities on election day and 3 days before.

cindee68's avatar

But DHS has already been in contempt 96 times in the last year. This is too big for them not to disobey a court order. A court order is not enough.

Tall One's avatar

I agree. We must fight fire with fire. Volunteer “forces”…

Rick Abrams's avatar

Wake up and be reasonable. You think you can fight the US Marines and the local militia which Trump will have federalized under Trump vs Illinois? Trump has the Supreme Court behind them and they have Wall Street. Why do you think Trump has been building concentrations camps? For illegals? He will deport them and deported people need no concentration camp

I will be ready to vote...no matter what because it's my rights.

This never-ending avalanche of bad news - Epstein, voting, ICE etc - is a demoralizing military tactic used to take down societies, and it is being fully deployed here at home.

President Obama's Warning: "You just have to flood a country's public square with enough raw sewage, you just have to raise enough questions, spread enough dirt, plant enough conspiracy theorizing that citizens no longer know what to believe. Once they lose trust in their leaders, in mainstream media, in political institutions, in each other, in the possibility of "truth", the games won."

Who is behind this? The 1%:

Here is well over a dozen Fox, CBS, ABC, & NBC local news stations all reading an identical script sent down from their singular overlord to crash & burn alternative media in order to de-fang the Oligarchy’s Overwhelming threat to [theor total control of] our democracy:

https://substack.com/@tritorch/note/c-208406729

Ultimately we are not consuming news. We are consuming a product manufactured by the richest men in human history, and that product is designed to do one thing: keep us so busy fighting our neighbors that you never notice the chains being fastened around our wrists.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Totally agree. But articles packed with overwhelming despair, presenting huge, powerful forces we're powerless against, is also a form of capitulation, of obeying in advance. We need to know a. what realistically is likely to happen because realistically he's not going to do all of this and b. what is being done to fight back (because a lot is) and what can WE do to fight back?

c.h.'s avatar

It's already working. I see comments telling people to stay away from protests and "leave the agents alone to do their job." I get that some people are too scared to speak out, but don't try to scare the whole nation! Our federal government is already doing that job.

Knowledge is power.

We first need to build a platform of local strength, self-dependence, and resiliency. Once done, and we have a solid foundation from which to stand, from there we begin working on taking back the higher levels: country, state, federal.

The solution is to get local, get self-dependent, get the common unity back in community by building webs of resilience with your neighbors, get control of your school boards, mayors and sherrif's office, and town councils (the last places we still hold all of the cards), get a garden in your lawn no matter how small, a single tomato plant is better than nothing, get a well (water is your most important resource hands down), get ready, get moving, get doing, and, if so inclined, get God.

Be sure to read those Epstein files. Epstein had his fingers all through USgovernment, Hollywood, finance, other countries governments, and contacts with so many billionaires. He had links to Q Anon. As if child sex trafficking weren't bad enough, he was making serious inroads on planning to take over the world evidently.

Sinclair owns nearly all of those stations. They infiltrated mainstream media to disseminate misinformation and disinformation a while ago.

Yeah that is an 8+ year old video, but it has never been more relevant

This has been his purpose all along

There is no "all along" with this man; he's a creator of impulse and goes with what sounds good at that minute.

Thank you for defending democracy, Jay! All immigrants must vote without ID through mail. I wrote a poem for Liam Ramos, a brave boy who was almost deported by the fascists: https://democracydefender2025.substack.com/p/liam-ramos-poem

Not through federal USPS mail….

The election is very worrisome. I was starting to relax. This must be Miller. Tacos just not this smart. Since the states are in charge of elections, how does the feds get in legally? He’s needs to be treated like Nixon. Admittedly, Nixon was easier to deal with, and he did have a bit of respect for the law, but we just witnessed what we already knew, taco has NO respect for the law! I just hope that blue wins midterms. Any reassurances?

Tall One's avatar

States control their own elections but Trump only responds to superior fire power or monetary damage.

Say NO to the SAVE act! You should not have to show a birth certificate to vote. The SAVE act would do significant harm to women and people that have legitimate name changes.

Thing is that special election in Minnesota where the Democratic candidate got like 95 percent of the vote just proves that voters would probably crawl through broken glass to make it to the polls come November. And I kinda doubt that just four members of a goon squad would be equipped enough to bluff their way into convincing everyone that they have a official roll there that wouldn’t be met with an official kick rocks from the local cops. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be worried about the regime trying some dirty unhandled tactics to suppress voters in certain spots. Trick is just being smarter than them and not letting them get away with it.

Pam H's avatar

"Kick rocks from the local cops" ?? Take a good hard look at what Minneapolis cops SAID versus what they DID. They DID NOTHING. The cops say one thing for the public, but carry on aiding ICE. Wake Up. The cops are NOT helping the public.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Which candidate was that? That would be overwhelming even in a deep blue district like mine unless a candidate was unopposed. (My congresswoman typically wins with about 80% of the vote.)

Matt's avatar

Meg-Luger Nikolai. It was for a Minnesota State representative district. There was 2 of them having special elections last week at the same time, just in the other one the democrat candidate ran unopposed. This one they did have a token GOP candidate running that Nikolai beat like a drum. Small districts in the greater twin cities area, but helps keeps the Minnesota State Legislature balanced.

Great piece, and chilling. Hope it gets the attention it deserves, more importantly action. And I am no authority, but I’d be willing to bet their long guns still have the rock-n-roll lever. (as full auto is affectionately known.)

Thank you Governor Inslee! We greatly appreciated your work previously and are glad you are adding your voice as a warning for the great problems we are facing with voting thx to this vile turd attempting to overthrow our democracy.

If you haven't read this article, you definitely must do so. If you have read it than share it widely. Everyone needs to call their U.S. Senators now. This is a 5 alarm fire.

Sue Marie's avatar

I hope they don't deter anyone from voting. I know some changes have been made to ICE. Now they have to wear body cameras. I think it's more important that they be unmasked. I think many would think twice about how they behave if they were recognized in pics and videos.

Veteran McQuade's avatar

They won't be wearing cameras anytime soon!!!!!!!, something is going on with ice because from what I understanding they haven't been receiving pay some for weeks some for months!!!, Congress is questioning where is the money?!!!!.

So it’s November. OK. Time to get ready.
