Elizabeth Warren Slams 'Coward' Elon Musk on Meidas

They tried to set the cutoff at $100 million—Republicans still said no. How about $500 million? Nope. One billion dollars? Republicans refused to say no to giving billionaires a tax break. They won’t even stop tax cuts for people making a billion dollars in a single year, but they’re more than happy to slash funding for kids with disabilities and seniors in nursing homes.

This is their vision: a government that serves billionaires and screws over everyone else.

And speaking of billionaires running the show, Warren also tore into Elon Musk’s attack on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)—the agency that protects everyday Americans from financial scams. The CFPB has returned over $21 billion to defrauded consumers by holding banks, payday lenders, and credit card companies accountable. So naturally, Musk and Trump’s goons want to kill it.

Musk even bragged about it, posting “CFPB RIP” on social media before Trump’s administration started illegally dismantling it. But when lawsuits and public outrage pushed back, they suddenly changed their tune, trying to gaslight the courts by claiming it was all just a “streamlining effort.”

Warren sees right through it. She’s calling out why Musk really wants to kill the CFPB—because he wants to launch his own financial platform, X Money, without regulations, without oversight, and without the “cop on the beat” to stop him from exploiting consumers.
