But Dr. Monarez’s lawyers, Mark Zaid and Abbe Lowell, immediately hit back with a powerful rebuttal: “Dr. Monarez has neither resigned nor received notification from the White House that she has been fired, and as a person of integrity and devoted to science, she will not resign.”
Their statement exposed the dangerous political agenda at play: “First it was independent advisory committees and career experts. Then it was the dismissal of seasoned scientists. Now, Secretary Kennedy and HHS have set their sights on weaponizing public health for political gain and putting millions of American lives at risk.”

And let’s not forget: just weeks ago, there was a domestic terrorist attack on the CDC building by an anti-vaxxer radicalized by MAGA rhetoric. A heroic police officer was killed in the line of duty, hundreds of bullets fired at a U.S. government building. And yet Trump and his cronies said nothing. Not a word. Not a shred of support.
This is all part of the same campaign: to undermine science, weaponize public health, and put lives at risk for political gain.
