Exclusive Behind the Scenes Look at MeidasTouch

I thought I would start today’s Substack posts by giving you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at where I record.

Here I am recording my videos. And look who it is—it’s baby Ximena Meiselas making videos with me. Isn’t she cute?!

I bet you didn’t know that while I’m recording my daily news updates—with the dogs barking in the background—I’m also trying to rock little baby Ximena to sleep where the camera can’t see. It’s a bit of multitasking, but I’m up for the task.

You might be wondering what’s on the shelf behind me. That’s a photo collage of me and my wife, Xochitl. Here’s a close-up of that collage, which features some of our favorite memories together.

For those who know me, you know how important my family is to me. They’re my entire world. I wake up every day so motivated to do the work we do here at this network for them—and, by extension, for all of you, who I consider to be family as well.

What makes this media network so special, I think, is that it’s not only family-run and operated but also powered by the MeidasMighty, which is one big, giant family—all 3.3 million of us.

I know some of my morning posts may have been a bit dark and grim lately, especially with some of the death threats we’ve been receiving since the election. So I wanted to lighten the mood a little today and invite you into my studio to meet Ximena and see where and how I record.

Guess what? I’ve got more good news to share. MeidasTouch YouTube is now averaging over 13 million views every 48 hours. That’s not quite as much as we were hitting before the election, but it’s pretty darn good—and it’s all thanks to you!
