Ask Senator Schumer this:

Why isn't John Gillette under arrest? He has made deadly threats against Pramila Jayapal. He is a dangerous man.

"Arizona state Rep. John Gillette said he used a "poor choice of word" when he said on social media that a Washington congresswoman should be "tried convicted and hanged" for what he described as advocating "for the overthrow of the American government."

"I should have said 'firing squad,'" the Kingman Republican told The Arizona Republic."

This is not only vicious and unconscionable, it is ILLEGAL. He must be arrested.

DOJ applies a different standard to Republicans and Democrats. This is an example of that. You already know this, don't you.

SLMontgo's avatar

No. I'm really stupid and never leave the house. I truly enjoy being condescended to. No, seriously. I await your next lecture.

Bonnie Boyce's avatar

I'm so sorry. That was not my intention. I was being sort of sarcastic about the double standard of the DOJ. I apologize.

SLMontgo's avatar

Thank you - *sarcasm is sometimes difficult to perceive* (this is what I meant to say during the early hours of the morning). But this is a very serious comment on a particular death threat from a vicious white man against my own US House Rep and I take it very personally. Double standard or not, he has threatened the life of an excellent woman and valuable House member who represents me. Appreciate your reply. Forge on.

Jean Conley's avatar

I caught that! You're right. It's too bad sarcasm doesn't get through to the Pukes. Actually and unfortunately, common sense doesn't get through to them, either. By the way, isn't this the RIGHT-TO-LIFE party?????? What kind of life? Won't go on because all of you are sensible here--and you know what I'm going to write here......... Glad I can make statements like that here because all the other sites (Post, etc.) have those "community guidelines," so even if you don't curse, call people names, etc. your comment is censored. OH--that is, unless you're a republiCRAP and you put down Democrats' statements and Democrats altogether. then it's allowed. (Guess I did "go on." I apologize!

Charlie's avatar

Whoa, whoa-- look at what you're doing. Flaming your own people helps how?

Kamm's avatar

Jean explained and SLMontgo apologized. They're fine, leave it.

SLMontgo's avatar

Thank you, Kamm. Indeed what has been proven in this thread is that my original comment was lost in the following comments. I don't have "people." That concept, to me, is ludicrous. As for flaming, if I wanted to be "THAT" person, there would be no doubt.

Actually, it was Bonnie who made the initial comment that triggered my own sarcasm. I think Bonnie and I would enjoy real life interaction, don't you?

SLMontgo's avatar

Thanks again for proving how stupid I am. I have no idea who my alleged "people" are and who you think I have "flamed." I have no "people" and wonder why you think I am "flaming" any of these imaginary folk. ICYMI, I am incensed over the vicious, provocative, totally illegal threat issued by that AZ asshole aimed at my deeply appreciated US House Representative Pramila Jayapal. If that makes me a "flamer of my people," so be it. Seriously, what?

LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP!

Ruth Jenkins's avatar

I want to know why they both voted to continue funding for Israel. Not cool at all.

WJB Motown's avatar

Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dumb-fuck need to step aside NOW. Schumer doing the KFF.....new data Kentucky French Fries thing....and houses are blowing up!!!

These 2 are beholden to AIPAC for starters. Move over and let let younger voices take over

Marsha Carter's avatar

Word's out all over IG that AIPAC recipients (Dems and most certainly Repugs) are headed down a slippery slope that does not include reelection

Geri Cochran's avatar

That's great, but both of the democratic men running in my state of Texas, for Cornyn's place in the U.S. Senate took money: one directly from AIPAC, and one from a huge donor to AIPAC. smdh

AIPAC blocks progressives from getting elected with their millions of dollar donations; to benefit Israel...not the U.S.A.

But this is a moot point, as any democrat would have great difficulty overcoming all that gerrymandering the Texas MAGAs have done.

Jean Conley's avatar

Hopefully, it's only the republiCRAPS. Millions (senior republiCRAPS) and then some are on Medicare. it seems like in the last several elections, over half voted for the republiCRAPS--especially the Dump. Wonder how they feel now? Of course, the wealthy republiCRAPS have more than enough money to pay for their own health care. Millions--and I'd say most--can't afford it. Just maybe they'll be smart enough and get rid of their republiCRAP senators and representatives. (That is, if we even have any more elections.)

Kamm's avatar

Well, first we have to elect younger people to be able to let them take over. That's not happening, maybe, until next year. In the meantime, we must work with the people we have.

Barbara Shirley's avatar

Because Dems have historically supported AIPAC…But we should be drawing the line at annihilation!

MAscrappy's avatar

Annihilation is the line for Dems? How is that any better than maghats?? WTF has happened to people in this country?!?! What has happened to humanity? Empathy? Compassion?

Chris's avatar

Trump and his administration happened! Maga people happened! A cult happened after being lied to and brainwashed!!! Ice happened! Democrats need to keep speaking up and keep on Trump and Johnson!! Keep calling them liars like they are!!! KEEP THE SHUTDOWN going on till we get what we deserve!!! We've been through a 35 day shutdown before... help others out if they need it but Democrats have to keep hounding them! We have to win midterms to get these assholes out of the white house once and for all. They need put in their place and put in jail for what they're doing. Ice needs to go!! They are hurting people and some have died cause of trump and this administration. It's wrong for people to suffer because of trump and his evil people running the show.. p 2025 is destroying our country. Veterans didn't give up they fought for us. Keep speaking up encouraging the democrats to keep up the fight and we're with them. We gotta win midterms!

Susanna J. Sturgis's avatar

The U.S. has been headed in this direction at least since the Reagan administration. Did you not notice? The last time the U.S. was on the side of justice in the Middle East was 1956, when it opposed the British-French-Israeli invasion of Egypt over Nasser's nationalization of the Suez Canal. I was only 5 at the time so I learned about it later.

The Democratic Party is deeply flawed for sure, but that's not news either. If you don't see the difference between the Democrats and the current crop of Republicans, I can't help you. But I will point out that single-issue voting is a problem. So is single-issue NOT-voting. It helped elect Trump in 2024. And now, as the saying goes, here we are.

Tina Raffelson's avatar

Single-issue voting, imho, is the #1 cause of the position we are currently in.

WJB Motown's avatar

Jeffries...Schumer...Johnson...on and on......so much limp dick energy!!!

Ronald Viola's avatar

If not aware - you will be happy to know of a new coalition called Reject AIPAC. On their website you can see politicians who are on this side of genocide.

Geri Cochran's avatar

Thanks for this info. I'll definitely look them up.

Jean Conley's avatar

Thanks for the info, Ronald!

josephebacon's avatar

I expect Trump to not only pardon Maxwell but he will pardon Diddy too. And the Republicans will bend over backwards to say that is perfectly fine with them.

And that really upsets me...

Chris's avatar

Let's hope he doesn't do that. He's in those files and everyone knows it. It'll make him look worse than he already is and piss people off.. I believe tomorrow the women connected with Epstein are supposed to be speaking.

GW B's avatar

Diddy’s convictions and sentencing are already grossly inadequate and a miscarriage of justice. A pardon would just be a final dollop of FU to victims.

Debbie Rakestraw's avatar

It might be a step too far over a moving line for the base - especially Maxwell.

Jean Conley's avatar

Of course he will? If he can pardon the 1/6 revolutionaries, he definitely will pardon that b**** and Diddy.

JR's avatar

You’re probably right! Me too!

LC's avatar

Also Grifter Mike should think twice as he may soon become a target as he’s hiding his sexual preference.

Leah Baum's avatar

I don’t know anything about Grindr. Is it a hookup site for gay people?

LC's avatar
Oct 7Edited

Yes.Apparently someone was threatening to share his Grindr file if he didn’t swear in the New Democrat.

Leah Baum's avatar

I read about that, but went into hiding due to nasty death threats. He should release it anyway. So Mike who spews hate towards LGBTQ is one of them. Hypocrite.

Jeff Urdank's avatar

He said that he gave all his information to a journalist, to vet out, and that he is no longer is in position it. That’s the last I heard. Could all be bullshit. I guess we’ll see. ✊🇺🇸😎

Kathie Punturiero's avatar

What happened to that?

Jean Conley's avatar

Hope the "someone" does. We deserve to see it.

Susanna J. Sturgis's avatar

"Apparently someone was threatening" really doesn't cut it as a source. This is a public board with thousands of subscribers. Providing a reasonably reliable source or two would be helpful. Otherwise this is just hearsay. Or, as the right-wingers like to say, "FAKE NEWS."

LC's avatar

Dean Blundell posted the guys videos, so who knows. If it’s true, I hope we see them.

Angela Shipman's avatar

yes, not only for gay people, apparently...Mike, Lyndsay, Marco, the list gets longer and longer...lot's of hypocrites...they prey on a group and yet hide behind an app... imagine that

Angela Shipman's avatar

it's a site for any sex...mostly men who CLAIM to be straight, yet hook up with gay men

Purobi Phillips's avatar

That makes more sense. Thank you.

YourHuckleberry's avatar

Schumer & Jeffrries need to demand the immediate swearing in of Adelita Grijalva before even considering talks or negotiations. No seating of Grijalva - no budget talks or votes! 🤨

Kathleen Wilber's avatar

That won't do any good. The GOP doesn't want to negotiate and they're perfectly happy with the shutdown. They will just keep bad mouthing the Democrats during the whole thing and ignore any disruption it causes. They've caused so much deliberate disruption, anyway, that the shutdown could be small in comparison.

Mariantoon's avatar

People working with no pay check is a BIG problem AND of course job loss is not sustainable. I call BS on little Johnson and all mean spirited Reptiles! Jeffries/Schumer need to be determined to get the Government open too! Keep the constant pressure on little j. Epstein cover up exposed too!!

Christine Glenn's avatar

The Republican 2025 is a 900 page blueprint of their goals and strategy. It has been out since 2023. Where is the Democratic blueprint? This shows an absolute lack of leadership and their reactive rather than proactive attitude. This is why the Dems are seen as weak. The party leaders should be asked about their blueprint at every interview. I am not interested in thoughts, prayers and strongly written letters. Meidas, you need to put the heat on these guys. If they can't produce a blueprint, they need to resign and let more visionary leaders be elected. These are not normal times and Schumer and Jeffries do not seem to understand that.

Easier said than done, We are Not in their shoes…Maybe the fault lies with the Voters who voted Red instead of Blue…I applaud S and J for fighting for the millions who won’t afford the health insurance to save their lives….That makes sense…They are trying to slow the Regime in the destruction of many American Lives…Why do you think Johnson didn’t swear the new Dem in…

Jay Kinard's avatar

As a paid subscriber to both you and Heather Cox Richardson, please let me say to all your followers to read her “Letters From An American” for today’s readers.

It is absolutely essential reading!

Judith Hofeditz's avatar

Dem leaders need to expand their demands to address the threats against democracy being activated as we speak by this regime. Healthcare yes, but it’s an opening point to the larger danger to the American people created by moves to invade cities with military against protesters, punish geographies that didn’t vote for Trump by illegally withholding Congressionally approved funding etc etc. People can see what’s happening and a majority are against it. Dem leaders need to loudly push back and HOLD THE LINE!

Linda's avatar

If only we had more Dems oh that’s right we don’t and that’s why there’s the problem…It crucial to start now to vote more Dems in thru the Nation…

I don’t know about anyone else but my insurance hasn’t yet settled gone skyhigh to the ends of the universe.

Before on Medicare I could choose an HMO and this was Medicare and medigap basically in one. Of course I paid separately for Part D. Then along came Donny and Elon…and Elon’s teeny boppers who just had to wreck everything. Good Lord…Ben you should look at last year’s website and now this year’s. It’s worse than first year law school! And then my supplemental (that medigap policy). My sister looked at me crossed eye when I asked her…will the doctor’s office want my medigap card at the same time I present my insurance card. It was like…are you crazy?…I’ve never had a medigap policy before…how am I suppose to know!

And the rates…I mean I know I pay 2/3 times as much for part A/B…if you make over a certain amount you start paying extras. Well hell, that was before. Now they want me to pay astronomical rates in addition. Plus super astronomical rates for Part D.

I know it’s not your fault but damn I wish we could ship Elon back home to South Africa. He and his teeny boppers have totally mucked things up for me.

Geri Cochran's avatar

AND we don't know what Elon's done with all of our personal data. grrr

Linda's avatar

I believe that his whiz kids dabbled with the voting machines in order for Trump to win…Anything’s possible…Musk did say out loud that He Helped Trump win….

Linda's avatar

Don’t forget Trump…He loves being a controlling Dictator…

Mike Hammer's avatar

Does anyone really think Schumer the right man for the moment?

josephebacon's avatar

No and hopefully AOC will challenge him when he comes up for re-election.

Whatistobedone's avatar

NO. Not even close. He's too busy with his stock portfolios and INSIDER TRADING.

Christine Glenn's avatar

and protecting Israel. He is not the man for the moment.

Linda's avatar

That sounds more like Trump…

Barbara Shirley's avatar

Not the time, man! Don’t change riders in the middle of the battle! Fight the fight.

Kevin57's avatar

I say no. An all out offensive against-the blatant corruption is needed. Rally EVERY senator to use every penny they have , and every waking moment, doing town halls together,

Letting people see the alternative! Strongly worded letters do t work at this point in history!

Nancy Cone's avatar

No - it’s time to step aside. I’m afraid no one takes him seriously.

Linda's avatar

So who do you suggest?

Chris's avatar

Let them to try to get the health care settled first. Hopefully both can get something settled for the people and then voters can decide what they want.. we need younger ones in office with new ideas.

Geri Cochran's avatar

LOL I'm an old white progressive woman. I never thought Schumer was the right person for that position. And I never thought Jeffries was the right person for his position either...Pelosi's guy. He is way too milk toast for me. And that's what has gotten the democratic party in trouble, imo. ...They've done NOTHING for the people. Biden did great for the country...but he was unable to do much for the people.

But then the established Party thinks people's disapproval is because they are being too liberal. lmao Too bad they refuse to see how popular Bernie Sanders is: how many thousands of people, including MAGAs have attended his Oligarchy Tour. I recommend watching videos of Senator Sanders' speeches. They are uplifting. When he speaks with smaller groups of MAGAs, his genuineness and honesty convince them that he's a good guy with great ideas. Just my opinion.

Linda's avatar

Seems like they are by standing up for the millions who won’t be able to afford the health insurance that they need to save their lives….That’s no small feat….The Repubs are not even there to try to negotiate…

Linda's avatar

A little too late to ask that question…How about is Trump and his Regime right for this Country now!

MAscrappy's avatar

LOL!!! LOL!!! That was too funny!!

Benegessert's avatar

No, not a wartime consigliere

Kathryn's avatar

Thank you, thank you, thank you Ben and MeidasTouch👏🏼

Julianne Clark's avatar

I heartily recommend tonight's episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on the topic of the need that our Democratic leadership hold fast and NOT cave.

Linda's avatar

Yes the criticism does not accomplish anything, if rallying around them makes the difference that Repubs see, just maybe they will make negotiations possible but the Repubs are not there, they left so what does that tell you…

Susan Cooper's avatar

"I say the same things privately as I say publicly," says MAGA Mike. So I guess that means he lies in private as well as in public.

Heather's avatar

Show up on October 18!!

Mel's avatar

I wouldn’t be able to hear this clown or Jeffries. I hope Meidas is asking tough questions. More importantly ask them more than the health care issue. Health care is a huge issue, but they shouldn’t negotiate with the terrorist when their opponent keeps threatening the military to go after dems. Or how at this very moment ICE is terrifying communities. WTF!? Schumer - step the fuck down! You are no foe this moment and neither is Jeffries. You talk too complicated for most people. You are also super late to the daily craziness’s .

Linda's avatar

Late or outnumbered?
