Ask Senator Schumer this:

Why isn't John Gillette under arrest? He has made deadly threats against Pramila Jayapal. He is a dangerous man.

"Arizona state Rep. John Gillette said he used a "poor choice of word" when he said on social media that a Washington congresswoman should be "tried convicted and hanged" for what he described as advocating "for the overthrow of the American government."

"I should have said 'firing squad,'" the Kingman Republican told The Arizona Republic."

This is not only vicious and unconscionable, it is ILLEGAL. He must be arrested.

No. I'm really stupid and never leave the house. I truly enjoy being condescended to. No, seriously. I await your next lecture.

I'm so sorry. That was not my intention. I was being sort of sarcastic about the double standard of the DOJ. I apologize.

SLMontgo's avatar

Thank you - *sarcasm is sometimes difficult to perceive* (this is what I meant to say during the early hours of the morning). But this is a very serious comment on a particular death threat from a vicious white man against my own US House Rep and I take it very personally. Double standard or not, he has threatened the life of an excellent woman and valuable House member who represents me. Appreciate your reply. Forge on.

I caught that! You're right. It's too bad sarcasm doesn't get through to the Pukes. Actually and unfortunately, common sense doesn't get through to them, either. By the way, isn't this the RIGHT-TO-LIFE party?????? What kind of life? Won't go on because all of you are sensible here--and you know what I'm going to write here......... Glad I can make statements like that here because all the other sites (Post, etc.) have those "community guidelines," so even if you don't curse, call people names, etc. your comment is censored. OH--that is, unless you're a republiCRAP and you put down Democrats' statements and Democrats altogether. then it's allowed. (Guess I did "go on." I apologize!

Thank you, Kamm. Indeed what has been proven in this thread is that my original comment was lost in the following comments. I don't have "people." That concept, to me, is ludicrous. As for flaming, if I wanted to be "THAT" person, there would be no doubt.

Actually, it was Bonnie who made the initial comment that triggered my own sarcasm. I think Bonnie and I would enjoy real life interaction, don't you?

SLMontgo's avatar

Thanks again for proving how stupid I am. I have no idea who my alleged "people" are and who you think I have "flamed." I have no "people" and wonder why you think I am "flaming" any of these imaginary folk. ICYMI, I am incensed over the vicious, provocative, totally illegal threat issued by that AZ asshole aimed at my deeply appreciated US House Representative Pramila Jayapal. If that makes me a "flamer of my people," so be it. Seriously, what?

That's great, but both of the democratic men running in my state of Texas, for Cornyn's place in the U.S. Senate took money: one directly from AIPAC, and one from a huge donor to AIPAC. smdh

AIPAC blocks progressives from getting elected with their millions of dollar donations; to benefit Israel...not the U.S.A.

But this is a moot point, as any democrat would have great difficulty overcoming all that gerrymandering the Texas MAGAs have done.

Hopefully, it's only the republiCRAPS. Millions (senior republiCRAPS) and then some are on Medicare. it seems like in the last several elections, over half voted for the republiCRAPS--especially the Dump. Wonder how they feel now? Of course, the wealthy republiCRAPS have more than enough money to pay for their own health care. Millions--and I'd say most--can't afford it. Just maybe they'll be smart enough and get rid of their republiCRAP senators and representatives. (That is, if we even have any more elections.)

The U.S. has been headed in this direction at least since the Reagan administration. Did you not notice? The last time the U.S. was on the side of justice in the Middle East was 1956, when it opposed the British-French-Israeli invasion of Egypt over Nasser's nationalization of the Suez Canal. I was only 5 at the time so I learned about it later.

The Democratic Party is deeply flawed for sure, but that's not news either. If you don't see the difference between the Democrats and the current crop of Republicans, I can't help you. But I will point out that single-issue voting is a problem. So is single-issue NOT-voting. It helped elect Trump in 2024. And now, as the saying goes, here we are.

The Republican 2025 is a 900 page blueprint of their goals and strategy. It has been out since 2023. Where is the Democratic blueprint? This shows an absolute lack of leadership and their reactive rather than proactive attitude. This is why the Dems are seen as weak. The party leaders should be asked about their blueprint at every interview. I am not interested in thoughts, prayers and strongly written letters. Meidas, you need to put the heat on these guys. If they can't produce a blueprint, they need to resign and let more visionary leaders be elected. These are not normal times and Schumer and Jeffries do not seem to understand that.

Dem leaders need to expand their demands to address the threats against democracy being activated as we speak by this regime. Healthcare yes, but it’s an opening point to the larger danger to the American people created by moves to invade cities with military against protesters, punish geographies that didn’t vote for Trump by illegally withholding Congressionally approved funding etc etc. People can see what’s happening and a majority are against it. Dem leaders need to loudly push back and HOLD THE LINE!

I don’t know about anyone else but my insurance hasn’t yet settled gone skyhigh to the ends of the universe.

Before on Medicare I could choose an HMO and this was Medicare and medigap basically in one. Of course I paid separately for Part D. Then along came Donny and Elon…and Elon’s teeny boppers who just had to wreck everything. Good Lord…Ben you should look at last year’s website and now this year’s. It’s worse than first year law school! And then my supplemental (that medigap policy). My sister looked at me crossed eye when I asked her…will the doctor’s office want my medigap card at the same time I present my insurance card. It was like…are you crazy?…I’ve never had a medigap policy before…how am I suppose to know!

And the rates…I mean I know I pay 2/3 times as much for part A/B…if you make over a certain amount you start paying extras. Well hell, that was before. Now they want me to pay astronomical rates in addition. Plus super astronomical rates for Part D.

I know it’s not your fault but damn I wish we could ship Elon back home to South Africa. He and his teeny boppers have totally mucked things up for me.

LOL I'm an old white progressive woman. I never thought Schumer was the right person for that position. And I never thought Jeffries was the right person for his position either...Pelosi's guy. He is way too milk toast for me. And that's what has gotten the democratic party in trouble, imo. ...They've done NOTHING for the people. Biden did great for the country...but he was unable to do much for the people.

But then the established Party thinks people's disapproval is because they are being too liberal. lmao Too bad they refuse to see how popular Bernie Sanders is: how many thousands of people, including MAGAs have attended his Oligarchy Tour. I recommend watching videos of Senator Sanders' speeches. They are uplifting. When he speaks with smaller groups of MAGAs, his genuineness and honesty convince them that he's a good guy with great ideas. Just my opinion.
