You can almost hear the rats scurrying around trying to delete electronic messages

The one thing though is they are required to keep backups so even if they delete, and the backups mysteriously aren’t there, they are in violation of the laws.

But what I’m really wondering is why Congress isn’t doing anything about all the openly made declarations of war against the people of the United States, including the labeling of liberals as terrorists, and the bombing of Venezuelan fishing boats , etc. ; among many other unconstitutional acts by this Christian Nationalist Heritage Foundation Pedophile Pandering Economy Rigging Authoritarian Administration put in place by a man who’s many convictions and obvious character should’ve proven him unqualified to run for the highest office in the land in the first place … WTF !?!?!!! My perception is that although only 32% of Americans eligible to vote, voted for trump, the Republican Party now controls America root and branch. No one else seems to have any choice or say in what happens.

There is something seriously wrong with the American governing system.

Expand full comment
Sandra Wallace's avatar

Indeed, ever since Newt Gingrich, the Repugnants don't fight fair - or respect constitutional norms - neither when in the majority or when in the minority. Dems are snookered every time, trying to govern under rules so readily and so easily ignored or broken.

Congress has become a House of Ill Repute. Shame on all of them.

"Fie on thee, wretch!" (Shakespeare)

January 2003: "I realize what I am. I'm very comfortable in my own skin. I can think the thoughts I want to think. I can do the work I want to do and I'm free to explore as I see fit". (Jeffrey Epstein)

2019, Epstein once quipped, "Maybe the only thing worse than being called a pedophile is being called a hedge fund manager"

The ghost of Epstein is among us, taunting us to dare defy the evil doom he wrought upon the world.

Great rant without any substance. The republican majority has shut down the House and, thus, Congress for the last 4+ weeks. Who are you addressing when you say "none of you deserve to keep your jobs...."? Who do you think will stop trump and his minions? The majority MAGA Republicans shut the government down?

Expand full comment
Paulah May's avatar

And they sat in silent agreement before the shutdown. Trump is not actually a Republican. He is a populist, a nationalist, a criminal and an opportunist. And the Republican Party is pandering to him, while he panders to dictators, billionaires and the Heritage Foundation.

If the Republican Party had put forth anyone with any balls and true conservative values that actually matter to every day American citizens WE WOULD NOT BE HERE RIGHT NOW.

Thats who had better start REPRESENTING US or lose their jobs. I think most of us would agree that our “representatives” are doing a piss poor job of getting our voices heard thus far in this presidency. Congress. IS one of the checks and balances that is failing us right now. They need to stand the fuck up for their constituents and stop playing games while some of their colleagues in the White House use this moment merely to enrich themselves.

I didn’t realize that needed specific clarification.

Expand full comment
Paulah May's avatar

And by the way , whittling down the size of government on a massive scale while not relinquishing any of its authority is not actually reducing the government’s power, it is consolidating the power of the government. And that power is being welded against the people.

Our representatives on both sides of the aisle need to check that power immediately, lest their jobs be eliminated by the executive branch as well.

That was Hillary's emails, back in the day when the news meant something. Most MAGA didn't understand the technology behind emails and why it might have been a problem if true. It was just a hook - Master said "Jump!" and they all said "How high?"

Now it's Republican emails - and their voters won't give a damn. Master will say "Nothing to see here!" - and they'll all close their eyes.

Lady Emsworth. I understand how important it is to have discovered this information, but I have to agree with you. I’m afraid this will just get lost in the great beyond basket with all of trump’s and his enabler’s criminal acts. ‘Master’s voters’ won’t give a damn, Democrats will make a fuss, and then it’s just going to be another day in this cesspool of rot and corruption.

Roberta - it's education. All of it is education. The best run countries in the world, the one's with the happiest and best cared for populations, have the best education systems. Not "the most fabulous universities" turning out a small percentage of extremely clever people - but well educated ORDINARY people right across the board. You have an educated population, it can spot the grifters and liars. Which is why the Republicans have gradually been destroying public education in the US for years. If the next Democratic government (should there ever be one) doesn't do a radical overhaul of countrywide education, we will soon be in the situation again.

Expand full comment
Roberta Houle's avatar

Very true. I have never understood why the education system in the US has been rated so poorly. Now it sure makes sense. It’s all about control. In a first world country that has policies that are worse than some 3rd world countries, example, women’s rights to their bodies. That was my worst fear when the progressive conservatives were vying for power as our Prime Minister and as Premier in British Columbia, my province. I don’t think I have ever been that stressed.

Great investigating. The question is: what will this do if we can't get a hearing or any other type of action that will be effective without a majority in the House or the Senate?

One thing we can bring up: the Republicans wasted over $500 million investigating Hillary over several years, so that should be the amount allocated for this, at least to start. It is guaranteed to get ugly, like trying to take candy from a three-year-old in the grocery store. These whiny Republicans think that because they have a do-nothing, invisible, and 99.999999% unlikely to exist God on their side, they believe they are always right. They're not. They're delusional.

This country has become a big laughable joke, believing that women are nothing more than arm candy or blow up dolls, for the entertainment of half of our population, rather than as obviously skillful capable and intelligent leaders of 100% of our nation.

There are about 98 males per 100 females in the U.S., depending on the source Specifically, there are an estimated 174.5 million males and 172.8 million females, leading to a slightly male-dominated overall population.

Is it MAGA vs ANTIFA, or Men vs Women, or Herr Trump vs Humanity, or - all together now - Epstein Pedophilia vs The United States of Americans?
