It sickens me that FCC has a loyalist in charge acting like the Italian mob for protection money. The greed of the owner of Paramount is upsetting. She wants the merger so she can make $2 billion at the expense of 60 Minutes or the journalists who are doing the honorable thing: reporting. This is why people go to independent media to avoid the affect of these billionaire owners censoring news and facts.

Not with the teamsters. They hate woke, liberalism, empathy, softness, compassion for fellow human beings, they’re just a bunch of brain dead slobs with no soul.

Oh it gets better. Here's a SheerPost I got today, featuring Mike Ludwig of Truthout:

<https://scheerpost.com/2025/07/12/sanitation-workers-demand-higher-wages-as-trash-pickup-strikes-spread-nationwide/>

"A local sanitation workers strike that began on July 1 in Boston, Massachusetts, and left trash unpicked across the city is now spreading nationwide in a series of labor actions coordinated by the Teamsters union as frustrated workers demand better pay and benefits from Republic Services, a major waste disposal company."

**I have not seen this elsewhere, so have not confirmed it, but it's a good source.

This seems to be a sickening bribery scheme to create a company focused on AI productions. What could possibly go wrong with that? Everything in my opinion! Never mind the loss of jobs and all the other negatives associated with this travesty of justice. I’m so sick and tired of the corrupt corporate BS. This is yet another perfect example of why MTN is so deservedly #1, as people are all the way over all the corporate crap and are and will come to and support independent journalism that is honest, true, factual, and with the utmost integrity. MTN has restored the heart of the old school, Edward R. Murrow style of journalistic integrity! Onward…...

Of course it's a bribe, but one that Paramount can get away with with it's stockholders, saying they had to do it, not because trump was right but because it was in the best interest of stockholders to pay up since going to court would be more costly...not true, but they can say that rather than say we're going to give trump a bribe to get this merger done as it will make us money. But as with so many others negatively impacted by their vote, they did vote for trump and asked for this.

Mainstream Media also used to have a spine. Too many journalists now roll over as if synchronized swimmers seeking access and attention (and the avoidance of hominem vituperation and banishment) cf. the Gulf formerly known as that of Mexico. Go AP!

Well said. Except MSNBC and once in a while CNN, there are no more journalists on mainstream media, only actors/actresses reading scripts spouting off bland non news.

It is a tough call for them...support trump and let members lose jobs or stand up for the members. I'd say a no brainer, they will go with trump. Sort of like the entire GOP Congress had the choice to protect their constituents or go with trump on the budget bill and every single one chose trump over their constituents. But they sure are happy to see those tanks roll down the streets in their districts looking for brown skinned folks to harass.

This is a mob shakedown, and trump** is the mob boss. There's no one to stop him since both Congress and the SCOTUS have rolled over for him. This is no longer government, "of the people, by the people, and for the people." This is a dictatorship for the sole benefit of trump** and his fellow mobsters.
