Too bad it’s not Trump behind bars! That will be one of the happiest days of my life 😁

Mine too. He’s a career criminal and pedophile who should’ve been locked in prison decades ago.

Gingie's avatar

This was exactly my thought. I want him to have to feel the repercussions of what he’s done. Stripped of his comforts feeling all of this behind bars. Nothing will be right with this country again until it happens. Also the republicans in congress can join him there.

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes!

Martha Kenne's avatar

Yes...a champagne moment!

Sylvia Arrowood's avatar

We better get our bottles of champagne now before they sell out.

SNaomi19's avatar

I believe trump is more of a Boones Farm Strawberry Hill kind of a guy :)

Dean's avatar

Drinking it out of a bag.

Leah Baum's avatar

Yes. Cheap and fake like he is.

Odis H Johnson's avatar

trump could never pen such a letter, he would be busy blaming everyone else.

Linda Klug's avatar

You’re right. And his letter would be filled with prisoners coming up to him with tears in their eyes, saying, “Sir, sir….”

Sylvia Arrowood's avatar

The whole prison will turn orange.

Dorcas George's avatar

I have lost all hope that that day will arrive. As for Santos, maybe he will learn something.

Randy S. Eisenberg's avatar

True and true, but trumps prose could never, ever reach the bar set here by Santos, darlings.

Crosley Shelvador's avatar

News flash: it’s SUPPOSED to suck

Ya, not going to happen. You ever think there’s more skeletons in his closet they haven’t discovered? He’s exactly where he should be. Exactly where the entire magat party should be!!!!!

Oaktown's avatar

He stole money and people's identity and has been a compulsive grifter liar his entire life. He will NEVER change. No sympathy for him, but much sympathy for those unfairly convicted and unfairly sentenced for far lesser crimes that Santos and every single repug in Congress has committed.

Karen D's avatar

I agree...to a point. No award for him, but we definitely need a discussion about our broken election system.

ItsGottenReal's avatar

Boo to the effin hoot

Marty's avatar

Georgie Kitara Santos is a serial conman grifter. He ripped off everyone, every chance he got. He STOLE PUPPIES to bilk people into donating to his fake dog rescue. The only difference between Georgie and Trumpy is Trumpy is ruthless and has no soul. Maybe Georgie is the same, just less skilled. Either way, he's where he belongs. So good riddence.

MM Harris's avatar

Does he really think we are going to fall for his "My First Day in Prison" report as evidence of a change in integrity? Puleeze, dude.

Jax's avatar

He has no soul or he would have apologized to his victims instead of trying to make himself out to be one!

Ken Gullette's avatar

Santos' letter was written by AI. I can tell from the wording. He can't even write authentically.

HarrisWalz FTW 2024's avatar

It's got a very bizarre tone to it, that's for sure.

Betty Frost's avatar

Darn, I just commented on how well it was written. I hate AI!

Joy Kramer's avatar

Me too. We’re all going to be brain numb in a couple years.

I sure wondered about that, though I don't have a clue about recognizing AI products. As a retired English teacher I noticed the difference from his previous public writings where he often had glaring spelling, grammar, and syntax errors. I had to do a double take on his properly hyphenating "state-issued polyester" wherein two linked words (typically adjectives) are hyphenated when modifying a noun which most people rarely observe. His sentence structure and paragraph organization made me think at first he's had plenty of time to improve his writing skills, then I surmised someone helped him write it. Whatever, he'll have plenty of time now to qualify for library privileges and continued education classes (I taught long ago at Nebraska's maximum security facility), i.e., if he's a good boy, works well with others, volunteers for work opportunities, stays out of trouble, and gets along with security personnel. He may have a rehabilitated future. It's his choice.

Ken Gullette's avatar

SFGal, here's a comment I made on another reply. It might give you a heads up about AI writing. There are clear signs. It is a certain type of comparison, but it usually says "not (this), but (that)." Here is a sentence from Santos' letter that illustrates this: "one that didn’t just show my face, but the wreckage of the life I had built." Also, AI loves to describe stuff with "regret," such as this sentence in Santos' letter: "an abandoned gym locker room from a forgotten high school—grim, damp, smelling of mildew and regret." Here is another sentence that is a clear sign of AI. Once again, notice the comparison of "Not (this) but (that). "That’s been the hardest part. Not the routine, not the bed, not even the loss of freedom—but the slow disassociation from the man I once was."

opsan's avatar

Hail, Fellow Grammarian!

Lori's avatar

I also wish there was some way to identify AI; not only in replies but also on the actual posts. I can't tell anymore if it was a bot post or a real person post. And I really hate that sometimes I fall for it.

Katherine Donald's avatar

Many things jumped off of the page for me. But what resonated most, the part where it is written that Rep. M. Greene indicated that Republican lawmakers should not go to prison during the Trump administration. What?!

Maya Delpit's avatar

I don't think they have AI in prison dude...

Ernestine's avatar

They have computer access so yes A1is available🫨

Jax's avatar

Maybe it was written prior to him going in

MM Harris's avatar

He's in the slammer a day and already has access to a phone or computer?????

SFGal's avatar

Nah, probably not electronic access that soon as MM points out.

Dotsie's avatar

How can you tell? I’m curious about the telltale signs. I thought maybe he was flowery writer….🤣

Ken Gullette's avatar

There are clear signs, Dotsie. It is a certain type of comparison, but it usually says "not (this), but (that)." Here is a sentence from Santos' letter that illustrates this: "one that didn’t just show my face, but the wreckage of the life I had built." Also, AI loves to describe stuff with "regret," such as this sentence in Santos' letter: "an abandoned gym locker room from a forgotten high school—grim, damp, smelling of mildew and regret." Not the routine, not the bed, not even the loss of freedom—but the slow disassociation from the man I once was."

Schmendryck's avatar

Well if he's got access to AI in th'joint, it can't be THAT restrictive.

Kamm's avatar

Ah gee, and here I was going to say he would make a good fiction writer and now he can't even write but uses AI. 🙄😂

Maya Delpit's avatar

I don't think they have AI in prison dude...

Ken Gullette's avatar

Then someone wrote it for him on the outside. It's AI.

Kamm's avatar

If they have access to computers, which they do, they most certainly have access to AI. As someone else has already pointed out. So, either you're a BOT, a troll or don't read.

Margie Nobbman's avatar

Prison sucks, unless your name is Ghislaine Maxwell and you hold Trump's political future and possibly his freedom in your hands. Yeah, I know I probably spelled her name wrong but she's not worth me taking the time to look up how to spell it.

Sharon C Storm's avatar

Your spelling is correct.

Timothy Giles's avatar

In other words, she’s got him by the balls😂

Molly Cook's avatar

I spell it Jizlaine.

Oaktown's avatar

Giz would be more appropriate.

Oaktown's avatar

First time a comment rated two pukes. LOL. It is disgusting.

SFGal's avatar

You're fine, you spelled it correctly. I had to learn to memorize to get it right myself.

Mike's avatar

Send Donny next!!

Richard Jasper's avatar

Let's not forget that Santos is openly gay and Mike Johnson is a homophobic bigot. He wouldn't touch a pardon request from Santos with a ten foot pole!

Schmendryck's avatar

Withered Johnson isn't "homophobic," he's "being outed-phobic."

Oaktown's avatar

Took the words right out of my fingers.

Kate's avatar

And let's not try to ignore the fact that lil Mikey is as gay as Christmas!! Which is why he's such a homophobe!

Suzn Sez's avatar

Rumors suggest that Johnson's pole is about 9'10" short.

WJB Motown's avatar

Santos will be very popular when its time for a shower. Soap bars will be going at a premium and be careful bending over if you drop it.

Schmendryck's avatar

Hey, the guy's gotta have SOME means of earning tuna packs & cigarettes, ain't he?

Crosley Shelvador's avatar

Golly, is he penitent already? Or just replaying the shtick of hapless victim he’s known for?

HarrisWalz FTW 2024's avatar

That's a rhetorical question, right? Funny how much it affected Marjorie Toughgirl Greene.

Schmendryck's avatar

I WAS gonna say something really foul about what affects Empty Gee, but she doesn't deserve the attention.

SFGal's avatar

But I do like the "Empty Gee" moniker and will use it in future. Imaginative!

Schmendryck's avatar

Spread it like fresh fertilizer across the purple fields of grain! (Or uncleaned- up-after dog poo on the sidewalk!)

SFGal's avatar

OMG! Your comment reminds me of a pic my daughter sent me a few days ago from her hiking trail where she saw occasional piles of dog poop (trying to be 'decent' here) and someone had been well-equipped on the trail with large tongue depressors labeled 'TRUMP' and methodically stuck them in the ground next to each pile. She appreciated that as some real ground-level resistance. Wish I knew how to send you the photo but I lack the skills. I'm sure you can use your imagination! We are not alone in this battle! (:

Schmendryck's avatar

When you figure out how to do it, please go ahead and post it at the very least on your own stack. (It does seem like this sort of thread doesn't make it easy if at all to attach images, more's the pity)

HarrisWalz FTW 2024's avatar

We all thank you for not making us think more about her.

Mingo's avatar

Perhaps Large Marge would like to give up the names of politicians walking around who've committed crimes in exchange for Georgie's pardon. Let's start with Taco Don.

CE's avatar

Perfect response!

Jane Kosola's avatar

You put yourself there unlike the innocent immigrants who are getting deported. You’re not getting beaten, your head shaved, shackled in chains and drinking from a toilet. I don’t care what you’re going through. And you shouldn’t have a platform like your open letter that keeps you relevant…because you aren’t.

SFGal's avatar

Absolutely there with you! All I envision are the pain and suffering, inhumane treatment of innocent migrants and immigrants, which is why I'm so incensed by this Santos public woe-is-me somebody get me outta here. His elitist attitude has me so angry I can hardly type accurately! I appreciate you speaking for the voiceless disappeared!

David A Pitock's avatar

Relax George your going to be the belle of the ball.

SFGal's avatar

Yikes-a-roni! That's probably what he fears most and I just hope he won't send us a public missive about those kinds of situations I'd prefer not knowing about.

A. Hofferkamp's avatar

Sounds like Ghislaine Maxwell has better digs than he does. He should have been a sex offender.

KeepPinotAlive's avatar

No sympathy AT ALL! Now let's elect more real democrats & get this country back on track,

The Style Investigator's avatar

He's a surprisingly good writer. Maybe he can write a prison memoir...

Kristopher Giesing's avatar

I was about to say the same thing.

It's hard to feel sorry for someone who duped the nation so blatantly, but Marge is also not wrong that it's a double standard. Look who's in the WH.

F'ing weird times, man.

Schmendryck's avatar

Let's hope it's not another Jack Henry Abbott "Belly of the Beast" situation....THAT didn't turn out well, especially for that waiter.

SFGal's avatar
Aug 5Edited

So who cleaned up on the publication sales, Norman Mailer? Guess it wasn't the waiter's widow.

The Style Investigator's avatar

Actually it was - at least per Wikipedia: "Adan's widow sued Abbott, winning the multi-million dollar royalty payments for Belly"

SFGal's avatar

Thanks for educating me on this. I see that she was awarded millions and Abbott received only $12,500 in advance for the book and that was it. I'll have to go back and revisit the Abbott book as it's been years, like way back 1979 when I read "The Executioner's Song." Tommy Lee Jones was chilling and stunning in his 1982 portrayal of Gary Gilmore in the film.

WJB Motown's avatar

Santos will be in the shower on his knees or bending over most of the time

Cornelia Teed's avatar

He made his choices, now he is having to deal with the consequences. I do not feel sorry for him. I hope he learns something beneficial from this.
