Unions need to be back on the radar of working Americans. They have protected workers and their financial futures. Union member, here. No pension without my union supporting us!

I agree with everything in this extended post. My question is why so many of your brothers and sisters support Trump?

So frustrating that any union member would support union busting and benefits suppressing politicians

Those that do are shootings themselves in the foot and are quite frankly low IQ if they cannot understand the gop HATE unions. Hubby is a union electrician and has seen high evidence of the sheer stupidity of union members supporting the OT. I have no respect for them.

A superb article that explains what it takes to give workers economic security. Send to your elected politicians. Say you will vote for someone who supports this approach to ensure workers 'thrive, not survive.'

The union goals can be accomplished…..but ONLY if ALL union MEMBERS vote in political Elections and ONLY if they vote Democrat and for the non oligarch democrats.

We would all be working for peanuts without any benefits if it wasn’t for THE UNIONS!

You made it very clear about unions and I'm beginning to see the light at 90 yrs old. Nicely explained. Maybe I wouldn't have lost my husband (age 33) and me at age 30 with 7 children to take care of with nothing to do it with.

I was a waiter for 25 years and retired with a pension thanks to my Union jobs.

I tried to sue the government but you know how that is. Besides, a catholic priest was involved and nothing ever happened.

Why haven't information technology professionals unionized?

I am currently an information technology professional working for a large healthcare organization that recently decided to offshore 6K or more IT positions. I believe that my colleagues and I should be able to fight such actions.

Unless I can move into another internal position, my job will end as of 9/4. I will be 64 by that date. I have been with this employer for 14 years now. The severance package offered is 2 month's salary, plus money to cover COBRA for 2 months. That's no way to reward a loyal employee of this tenure.

That is terrible! I am sorry you've been treated so badly, because of their insatiable greed. And 2 months severance? God I hope there are laws and lawyers who can say to these sociopaths "Not so fast."

Cheeto Is A Loser

For Cheeto the most despicable word in the English language is "loser". For a malignant narcissist there can be no defeat. Pure and simple the psychopath always wins. If it weren't for the economic pressures coming from his billionaire cronies in the oil industry and more broadly the energy sector, Cheeto would have manufactured reasons to carry out this war out interminably.

But alas, Nature always catches up with psychopaths eventually. The governing laws of human behavior are inextricably tied to forces beyond human control and Cheeto is as good as a cooked turkey for Thanksgiving.

Nonetheless the Cheets will find some way to creatively make it so he doesn't appear to be the loser that he is. For every self respecting malignant narcissist there has to be a way out of this conundrum. Blame as WE the People have seen is the most common highway but in some spin there will the obvious lies that all his objectives have been met so in stretching truth to meaningless meanderings is a good way for Fox or Stephen Smith and Bill Maher to give him an off ramp.

But this sad hunk of human protoplasm is still just a demented psychopathic loser.

Trade schools are usually union jobs to graduates. Proud wife of a hard working union man. 👏

I just read a story that DJT is threatening to stop all unemployment payments! He claims fraud! Can he do that? I'm sure all the corporate friends would love not paying into unemployment!

This is such a nice succinct statement we need to be using in campaigns..." the government’s job is to lift workers into the middle class, not push them down". The GOP will say we are doing that, we removed taxes on tips and overtime....we have to have at out fingertips fact that show just how many people really benefited from these actions and how much they actually/really saved. And of course couple that with how much higher health care, child care, housing, groceries and everything else is that the middle class needs.

Unions built this country! Many of the troops coming home after WW2 joined and prospered along with the country. They need to get into high schools and sell the benefits to kids who won’t go to college.

I’m SO grateful for everything the AFL-CIO brings to the table to help preserve the rights and protections for hard working Americans. Keep up the amazing job…SO PROUD of all of you and keeping us informed through Meidas!💝🙏🤗
