I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Donald Trump is unleashing chaos on this country, turning ICE into his personal Gestapo, and targeting people not because they’re violent criminals, but because they’re easy political prey. We showed you the heartbreaking story of Sarah, a legally employed state worker detained with her six-year-old son over a paperwork technicality, and the outrageous case of a 15-year-old boy with special needs hauled away at gunpoint outside his school in a botched raid. We even spoke to a Latino Trump voter, now suing ICE after being racially profiled and harassed, who admitted he was brainwashed by Trump’s lies.
And it’s not just cruelty. It’s coordinated. Trump’s recruiting barely-trained teenagers to “protect your culture” while setting arbitrary quotas of 3,000 deportations a day, shattering lives for the sake of fearmongering. Then there’s his latest stunt: deploying the National Guard and federalizing police departments to threaten Democratic cities.
That’s why I brought on Maryland Governor Wes Moore. He’s a soldier, not a showman. And he made it clear that in his state, the National Guard answers to him, not to Trump. Moore is proof that real public safety comes from constitutional policing, community investment, and following actual data. Under his leadership, Baltimore’s homicide rate is at its lowest in decades — without tanks in the streets.
We also talked about Trump’s economic devastation: tariffs raising prices on everything from groceries to gas, the largest loss of federal workers in Maryland’s history, and tax cuts for billionaires paid for by kicking children off food assistance. Moore is shielding Maryland as best he can, turning deficits into surpluses and keeping unemployment low, but the damage from Trump’s policies is real and personal.
Governor Moore’s message was clear: Maryland will not be bullied. They will not let Trump trample the Constitution, and they will not let fear replace freedom. In this fight for the soul of the nation, leaders like Moore, and the people standing with him, are the firewall. And we’re going to make damn sure that wall holds.
