Me, too! He could be relied upon to be truthful and uplifting. No wonder he was re-elected for a second term. If Trump gets the go-ahead for a second term, does that mean we can run Obama against him?

Indeed, whenever he spoke he spoke from the heart and always had such powerful words to share. tRump, on the other hand, only ever speaks out of his ass and just divides everyone even more with his hateful words. Ick, I hope like heck tRump doesn't have a chance to run again, just imagine how awful a third term with him at the helm would be when just one day of his asshattery is more than enough to deal with.

Ha, yeah, I recall that whole "tan suit" thing, that was so incredibly ridiculous. Imagine getting so worked up over color (and in the case of Maga, that would likely mean black or tan).

I miss having a leader who only had pressers when there was actually something to say, not because they wanted to brag about themselves or condemn the opposing party. I have never seen a bigger group of sad, hateful, miserable looking people than the orange felon and his regime.

I'm a blue dot in a red sea in Missouri but have a governor who is more trumpier than trump...our state legislature feels free (and is free since there are no consequences) to ignore/overturn the will of voters when we pass amendments or propositions, and they gleefully did the gerrymandering trump told them to do. You are very very lucky to have Gov. Beshear!

Thank you for bringing those leaders to the forefront that we would never realize think like 'normal' people. Not like MagaMind Cultists. It is refreshing to hear that some 'red' state governors are perfectly able to sit down with anyone to discuss the problems of the American people. It would be so refreshing if the Republicans in the House/Senate were able to close their ears to the whiny baby with the gold gewgaws and govern according to the Constitution and not according to the toddler's tantrums. He is not an adult, he might be 79, but he never got past the 7.

I appreciate you bringing up Andy Beshear. I live in Kentucky and we are a majority-Republican state with a Democrat governor. There is a way to move past political tribalism and we live it here, in our own ways. However, much more has to be done. I delve into this topic, and mention our governor’s precarious position in my recent piece on the Horseshoe Theory of Politics here on Substack. Thank you, Meidas.

Well, they kind of just have. But they were clever enough to cement their hold on all the levers of government and democracy before really taking off the mask. The question remains: just how passive is the American public? How willing to roll over and accept being a serf in a police state run by white, male, Christian nationalists?

Plenty of resistance but they just getting arrested and thrown to the ground. It's really shocking.

And that piece of lard gets wined and dined by the king of England while Canada gets treated like sht by both countries tho we were the first to join the wars cuz Amerika and England backed Nazis until Churchill and we are the colonised by the monarchy. We gave shelter to 3500 people after 911. We send in firefighters. F Amerika.

They coming for us next. I said long ago, ICE and NG domestically, proper military invasion on Canada next. Presumably Canada's allies will continue to wine and dine the fcking fascist.

Jeepers, I get your anger, but I think the King had a very clever agenda for that state visit. It was to show Trump that he can be showered with glitter while maintaining a democracy, and to expose him to the relentless and very clever protests the British put on for the visit.

They may think they can come for Canada but it would embroil them in a very costly war of resistance. I am sure that is not what anyone wants. In any case, the American dollar continues to slide, and they are truly courting an economic disaster.

It is an ungodly mess, though, isn't it?

We been living next to the united snakes of amerika forever. We know the lay of the land. King Charlie didn't back those protests. He's king not the peoples people.
