How about writing to your Democrat representative every time they open their mouth and say nothing and ask them what the solution is? They tell us to rally in the streets, they tell us to send money for their reelection, they tell us to write to them and tell them what we want, they tell us to volunteer and help our fellow citizens– they tell us a lot of things while they are up there raking in the dough, with their cushy limo drivers and their government subsidies to fly all over the goddamn place to be on talk shows, free , free dinners, a staff any corporate person would die to have and then they sit in these goddamn hearings all day long that go nowhere. I’ll tell you what the solution is - start telling them to stay at their goddamn desk until the solution is found. That is their job – that is what they are paid for – they wouldn’t last two damn seconds in any corporation because they don’t know what it is to come up with a plan and implement the plan and answer to the stock holders. We need to start treating them as our employees and stop just saying the words. We pay them to come up with the fucking solutions. Are you seeing any solutions lately? Then start holding their feet to the fire and stop treating them like Hollywood royalty. We need to take away their cushy retirement plan until we all get a fucking retirement plan. We need to take away their health insurance until we get fucking health insurance. we need to demand that they pass laws to raise the minimum wage or else they’re not getting paid. we need to stop fawning all over Gavin Newsom like he some Hollywood movie star. Gavin Newsom is a corporate Democrat who will not raise taxes on the rich and has the biggest slave labor of Mexican immigrants in the fields in California of any state, we need to start looking at reality and the reality is, we have been duped by both sides of the aisle. Stop being a good soldier and start demanding the people we are paying in Washington DC that they do their goddamn job.

you can get your shorts in a twist, but I think most of what you said is fantasy. a lot of those people are TERRIFIED and no, they don't have limos and stuff. they have to rent a place to stay when they're in session, they pay their own way (and that includes security) I'm from California btw and I like my governor because Prop 50. remember that? every time I hear someone complain about the job of governing I wanna say "you know what? YOU try herding millions of kitties" CA is an enormous state and has the fourth largest economy in the world. (okay, I'm done.)

The surest way to get Democrats elected in November?

Defer spending until after the election.

If the economy is suffering between now and November, Democrats will be ensured victory.

The real star of the American economy is consumer spending, which accounts for 68% of GDP

Stop spending now, except on essentials. Defer spending, as much as possible, especially on big ticket items, until after the election.

Shop, but don’t buy. Defer that gratification for a short while.

It’s important to stop spending now so there will be two quarters of bad economic news before the election.

“It’s the economy, stupid” as James Carville famously told Bill Clinton. It was then, and still is, in politics. The reelection of His Royal Heinous is largely attributed to the state of the economy, misrepresented as it was by HRH.

Will HRH destroy the economy on his own? Maybe or maybe not. He’s already retreating from his ill conceived war with Iran because of the damage it’s doing to the economy. TACO.

He will try to find a way to prop it up (like lower interest rates and fake numbers from the administration) because the economy is his key to keeping power.

But why take a chance? A simple and painless deferring of spending until after the election will ensure a Democratic wave and almost surely make the Republican politicians fear The People more than the fear His Royal Heinous.

We (wife and kid's - two teenagers) are currently in "no spend April". We did "no spend January" as well. Basically no frivolous spending, just needs. We are not "top earners", but we earn a decent living and when we do a no spend month, it's a fairly significant amount of money saved. If we all did as you suggested to some degree, I can definitely see it having a huge economic impact.

Why would they when now is the best time in years for them to invest and spend?

• Interest rates have been lowered, making borrowing to invest and spend cheaper.

• Tariffs disproportionately burden lower income earners. Small money to the rich.

• Tax rates were held in check, allowing to them more available discretionary funds.

• Passive income such as carried interests and capital gains are taxed favorably.

• Wealth creates wealth and money never sleeps. Why would they stop spending now?

If it comes down to “doing the right thing,” the concept fundamentally is DOA.

The laws are being faithfully 'executed' alright. However, it's not as the Founders intended. My members of Congress are all R. My House member, Sam Graves of MO, is the 36th R who is retiring at the end of this term. He's a farmer & even the farmers are getting sick of his lies. MAGA farmers are pissed at the high price of fertilizer, the tariffs & the high price of diesel fuel for their machinery. It's planting season. He's getting out while he can. He never held town halls. You can also directly boycott products of Koch Industries, streaming media like Amazon Prime, Paramount or Disney +, etc. Tesla Takedown was highly successful.

Good point, but as I read that Article, I saw this:

"The President shall, at stated times, receive for his services, a compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that period any other emolument from the United States, or any of them."

He is not responsible, in our constitution, for enforcing himself, is he?

I genuinely want to know.

They have chosen to abdicate those obligations.

I think you have given a very convoluted mixed up conclusion about the separate powers granted to Congress, and to the Vice President and a majority of the principal officers of the Executive Departments.

Regarding Article II, Section 4:

"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

should only be read in concert with the powers prescribed in Article I, Section 2(5):

"5. The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment."

And

Article I, Section 3:

"6. The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present."

And

"7. Judgment in Cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law."

It should be emphasized that Article II, Section 4 simply names that ALL the civil Officers of the United States are subject to the Impeachment, Trial, Conviction and Removal procedure, and NOT that there is a complete removal of those Officers. In fact, the TWENTY-FIFTH AMENDMENT, Section 1 prescribes:

"1: In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President."

On the other hand, the TWENTY-FIFTH AMENDMENT, Section 4 prescribes a procedure that could be used by the Vice President of the United States and a majority of the principal Officers of the Executive Departments:

"4: Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."

However, it does NOT remove the President permanently as Section 4 further prescribes:

"Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office."

I think it would be simply better to describe those procedures separately as only the Impeachment, Trial, Conviction and Removal procedure would remove the President permanently.

Also, I have to commend you for inserting the links to Cornell University Law School's Legal Information Institute database analysis of the Constitution.

However, your last sentence is on the mark:

"They have chosen to abdicate those obligations."
