I read about this shitshow of a president every day and wonder how a felon with 90+ counts against him and probably THE key player in a worldwide sex trafficking operation can end up being the U.S. president. It seems to me than anyone with a few functioning brain cells can see his con. He has done NOTHING in 6 months except lie about everything; make empty promises; threaten the media and universities and everything in between until they bend the knee because they are afraid of losing a little bit of money, and not worried enough as they publicly lose their integrity and sometimes their legacy. I think the majority of Americans, although probably a small majority, agree that he needs to be impeached. If the mainstream media would carry more stories about the fake deals and how the trade war is really hurting the middle class more people would be concerned about his lies and his refusal to uphold the constitution...while making horrible economic decisions is not a reason for impeachment it would help change the sentiment towards him (he has not usurped Congress's power to impose tariffs, the GOP Congress gave it to him. I think there is a list of impeachable offenses that at least one Dem Member of Congress has tried to introduce, but those things may be too far removed from the everyday life of the working class so they don't care too much but if they see how much he is hurting their pocketbook they might. Of course the big problem is that no matter what the majority of Americans think, even if it were a huge majority, the GOP Congress will not impeach. Not a one cares about their constituents or the rule of law or upholding the oath they took to uphold the Constitution. But still I think I'd rather live in a nation where the majority of citizens do in fact believe in the rule of law and really think no one, not even trump is above the law, even if we can't get him out of office because of the GOP Congress.
I saw a report recently that the GOP is trying to use the threat of impeachment to bolster their need to counter Democratic voting. Their stance is that if Republicans are not voted in that there will be more Democrats, which will more likely result in the impeachment.
Which is so sad... they never talk about concrete plans to address the needs of their constituents. Their donors, yes, but not the people they were elected to serve.

We need to make sure our midterms are held safely and honestly. We need to make sure everyone gets to vote. If needed, we need to demand hand counted ballots.
Ever since November and Musk's claims about the election, I've been thinking hand-counted votes are the only safe way to restore faith in the voting system in America and it should be insisted upon for the mid-terms.
On several occasions I have acted as a Deputy Returning Officer on an election day here in Canada. I was required to oversee the entire electoral process at my polling place, making sure that all the laws and regulations were followed. The poll clerk and I were also responsible for hand counting the ballots and recording the results. Each of the candidates on the ballot was allowed to have a person present at all times to observe the process and raise objection if something was not right. These observers could watch everything but at no time were they allowed to touch any of the ballots. After the vote was counted all the ballots were sealed in the ballot box and returned to Elections Canada or the equivalent provincial body where they were kept until certification
We have voting machines in the States and that is what Musk meddled with. I became an Election Inspector and I want to demand hand counting the ballots at each and every election site. The Democrats are going to have to become ruthless in Texas and everywhere else to make sure Trump cannot gerrymander the sites to his benefit. But then I heard Governor Newsom said if Trump was going to gerrymander in Texas then perhaps they would do the same in California. But this would just create such a huge mess.
So far as I'm concerned they have already created a mess for my county. For years Congressman Garamendi represented us. Due to boundary changes we no longer have him here. He is still doing excellent work for his new counties; but, now we are stuck with a Republican who just echoes Trump.

While I was living in Lancaster, South Carolina I emailed weekly to crumb butt Lindsey Graham letting him know how despicable I thought he was and how I was voting against him and doing what I could against him. I think you should attempt to speed up the timeline of Meidas Mexico. The ICE race profiling of Hispanics for deportation needs some additional focus. Bringing a "Meidas Touch" to bear on this with a perspective from Mexico, and how this is being perceived there, will help to show who the "true enemies of democracy" are. Don't make the same mistake as mainstream media and assume our strongest connections are only with English-speaking countries.
