Keep in mind they want you to be discouraged, and while that is an appropriate feeling, don't let it lead to inaction...instead work on letting it motivate you to action, even if it's small actions like phone calls. Persons of color have been working for decades to get some degree of equality and freedom (so sad Black men gave the election to trump based don what most if not all analysts have said which has set back the cause for equality decades with the racism in the administration and the official stance that persons of color and women are not as qualified for anything as white men). I cannot imagine how discouraged slaves must have felt both before the Civil War and after when they were supposed to be "free" and then there were all the Jim Crow laws and now there is trump. Seems the fight for liberty and justice for all is never ending and requires a lot of folks in the fight. Jessica raven reported in her subtack Chop Wood Carry Water that there is a lot of movement..today's edition is a good read, and I found her comments about a new Indivisible chapter meeting was very encouraging.. Having said that I too feel a lot of discouragement and seem to go around with a knot in my stomach. With such little mainstream coverage of anything the Dems are doing it is hard to think they are doing nothing, but it seems some actually are.

Good morning. One of the consequences of this administration hit home for my family. My daughter, who is a Scientist, got let go yesterday, along with her Supervisor and others with PhD's!!! Her company does medical research and works very closely with NIH. She has been with this company for 4 years, her supervisor, 10 years. This was done randomly. It was because of research funding. My daughter lives in San Diego and was in the military. Her husband is a veteran who almost lost his arm while serving in the Middle East almost 2 years ago. He is doing well now. He is still waiting for his disability from the Army, which is around 70%. No money yet. This dictator is doing everything he says. A situation like my daughter's cannot be resolved through the courts like the federal employees. She tells me that it will be very difficult to find a job in her field. She is 36. The company she was working for is one of the best with excellent benefits and pay. I am so stressed out!!! As a parent, our children always come first!! The reason I am bringing all of this up is because it could happen to anyone. We have to stop this insane man and Elon Hitler as soon as possible!!! Our lives depend on this!!! Please accept my apology for not sticking to today's topic, but my daughter is all I have on my mind now.
