Take MAGA’s misogyny and pedophilia protection racket and you have a female-woman-haters-club but seem to be just fine with children. Family values.

The MAGA women haven't realized how the men want to keep them subservient, barefoot and pregnant. They' re like Stepford Wives. They may never realize that.

I suspect all republican men have deep seated mommy issues. That’s the first woman they learn to hate.

Thanks for keeping all of your points front and center, Ben. It should never be about politics, red, versus blue, republican, versus democrat. It should be about right versus wrong, life versus death. Thanks again for your coverage, and bringing all of the receipts!

It's about humans versus extraterrestrials. Ultimately, good versus evil is a distraction. We need science, not religion.

"Extraterrestrials"-- really? Science and religion seek answers to the question of what life is, how does it work. They are not competitors. To frame them as such is to be in the same camp as the Mike Johnsons of our country.

You're much too New Age for my taste. You're hugging magic crystals while Earth is being captured and transformed. That "STOP AND BE FRIENDLY" sign only works if they're friendly.

What?

Where do you get New Age from? I've been called several things, but never New Age. It's almost funny.

Are you not aware of discussions between scientists and theologians? Perhaps your reading doesn't take you in that direction. For decades now, between high-level academics, not popular prejudice about what "science" is.

It’s striking how similar the Putin playbook is to those employed by extreme rightwing groups throughout Europe and in the US. The same targets. The same allegations. The same disinformation tactics. This is right out of the KGB playbook, which Putin learned well.

The challenge for those of us who prefer self-government to authoritarianism is to expose and break these connections between Russian operatives and the extreme right in our own countries.

The GOP, or the Guardians of Pedophiles, will be stammering, mumbling, projecting, distancing, bloviating and distracting the nation on Friday when the trumpstein files are sent to congress. At some point, even discernible, deranged, demented, disturbed GOP will have to explain to their children and the world, why they protected sex traffickers and pedophiles.

Your observations are spot on. It is not corny to fight evil with love and hope, but you are speaking to the choir. MAGA is not listening. What actionable advice do you have. I’m low on hope right now.

Good morning Ben,

Thank you for that inspirational reminder, particularly during the holiday season. We will have a lot to do in the months and years ahead, but it helps to take time to remember what is important. Your words are true for our coming battles and for those of our kids and their kids. Love, hope, hard-fought good work, and faith have always won and been the lights that shone through centuries of darkness, and will continue to shine into the future.

Maybe we could take some lessons from the love rallies that used to be held, minus the drugs. I suspect that many people have not learned how to love themselves and, therefore, can't love others. They listen to a depraved man and think that is love and don't know the difference. They don't realize that it is control. Being controlled is not love, but the opposite.

I agree with you 100%. However, the Democrats ran on the theme of "Hope," and it didn't work. There are still 77M people out there who are steeped in MAGA hate. I have always wished that Aaron Sorkin - screenwriter for most of Rob Reiner's films, could be hired by the Democrats to write speeches for them. Reiner and Sorkin have had a handle on the moral values important to our democracy. I have yet to hear one strategy, speech, reason to vote "overwhelmingly" for the Democratic Party - although I KNOW they should be the party of choice - instead of the evil that permeates the GOP today. Who has the answer to this? It needs to happen yesterday!

I think if the democratic leaders bothered to read any liberal substacks and read some of the comments, they could find good messaging.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to consult advertisers, lawyers and political speech writers.

The big problem is finding a news outlet to spread it. Can't post liberal viewpoints on Facebook or X, network news is no longer real news or unbiased, so they need to hit places where young people go, because if the democrats can reach many of them, they can sink the MAGA cult fake messaging and educate folks who aren't hearing what they have to say and young people know how to fact check on the internet.

Historic Role: Civil disobedience has played a crucial role in American history, influencing democracy and bringing about significant societal changes.

Examples: Famous examples include the sit-ins and marches during the Civil Rights movement, where people violated Jim Crow laws to protest racial discrimination.

Moral Basis: Figures like Martin Luther King Jr. argued for a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws, emphasizing the need for principled action to achieve justice.
