Important Message from MeidasTouch Co-Founder
Hey everyone, it’s Ben Meiselas, co-founder of the MeidasTouch Network.
Well, here we go again.
It was about 24 hours after Donald Trump announced what he called “Project Freedom,” which he claimed would escort ships safely through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump described it as one of the greatest military maneuvers in American history. I think that’s basically a direct quote.
Yesterday morning, Pete Hegseth held a press conference bragging about how successful “Project Freedom” was. They insisted it was completely separate from “Operation Epic Fury” because, according to them, Epic Fury was already a massive success and now this was something new.
Then Marco Rubio held a press conference saying everything was going great. Then J.D. Vance held a press conference saying everything was going great. And then, about an hour later, we learned another vessel had been struck in the Strait of Hormuz. Remember, this came immediately after Monday’s attacks on a South Korean vessel and a UAE vessel near the port of Fujairah.
Then on Tuesday, we learned a French vessel using the supposedly “safe” passage promoted by the United States was hit by an Iranian fast boat.
And then, almost immediately after that, Donald Trump suddenly announced that “Project Freedom” was ending because things were supposedly going so well. According to Trump, negotiations were amazing. The operation was spectacular. Mission accomplished. Therefore, we don’t even need the operation anymore.
So just like that, Donald Trump publicly surrendered while pretending he was declaring victory.
And once again, we saw another cycle of market manipulation.
We’ll see where the markets go today, but futures are up again, and apparently the rich keep getting richer while ordinary Americans continue getting crushed.
Because let’s be clear: nothing materially changed.
The Strait of Hormuz is still effectively controlled by Iran. Oil prices remain unstable. Inflation pressures are surging. Americans are paying the price. And yet this entire Ponzi-style performance continues.
Honestly, it’s still hard to believe we are watching the same kinds of con artist tactics Trump used in his real estate scams now being deployed during a major international conflict. It makes the United States look weak and pathetic, in my opinion.
And don’t sleep on another major development here. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi is currently in Beijing meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. I’m sure that played a role in Trump’s sudden reversal because Trump desperately wants his upcoming meeting with Xi Jinping. You know Trump wants that photo op so badly — the Chinese soldiers standing at attention while he poses next to Xi. That’s what matters to him. The image. The clout. The self-enrichment. Not the American people.
And by the way, did you notice yesterday that Marco Rubio once again spoke with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov? And once again, we didn’t learn about it from the United States government. We learned about it from Russian state media releasing its own readout of the conversation.
According to Russia’s version, the talks focused on “mutual cooperation” and working together, the kinds of things Americans would normally expect our government to prioritize with actual allies. But Trump continues flirting with Putin, in my opinion, and it’s disgusting to watch.
Meanwhile, Europe continues moving in the opposite direction. I talked yesterday about the major European Political Community summit in Yerevan, Armenia — a hugely symbolic location given Armenia’s history as a former Soviet ally. And for the first time ever, Canada participated as the first non-European member in a gathering like this. Europe is reorganizing itself politically and strategically right in front of us.
Another remarkable moment came yesterday when Putin announced a so-called unilateral ceasefire for May 9 during Russia’s Victory Day parade. There’s just one problem. Russia never actually discussed this with Ukraine. Ukraine found out about it the same way the rest of the world did. And while Putin talks publicly about ceasefires, Russia has continued killing civilians in Ukraine over the past 24 to 48 hours.
That’s why I refuse to stop covering Ukraine on our YouTube channel. We cannot normalize this.
And finally, I have to mention Donald Trump’s bizarre event yesterday with children during the presidential fitness appearance. Frankly, children should not be around this guy.
Trump behaved in an incredibly disturbing and creepy way. He made racist comments, xenophobic comments, weird inappropriate remarks, demeaned the children, and acted completely bizarre in front of them. It was gross to watch.
This is someone who has been found civilly liable for sexual assault. He should not be anywhere near children.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the point.
Oversight is desperately needed right now. I don’t care what political party you belong to — oversight of this corrupt and dangerous regime is absolutely essential.

I really don’t understand why maga republican supporters can’t see this. Dumpster fire Don doesn’t need them anymore. He’s not going to run again. So as he normally does when he’s done using you it’s under the bus. At the same time democrats can’t get complacent. We need to keep working towards the goal line. Trump is making it easier but we have to stay active and focused.
Watching him around those kids yesterday was so hard to watch. I had to turn it off. Wonder who those kids were (administration kids?) Because who in their right mind would want their kids around him
