What MAGA has shown us is just how many American citizens are indecent and

inhumane. I always knew that Republicans were generally awful since they have always used minorities as their scapegoat for votes, but now they don't just use words they are actually physically assaulting minorities as a way to get votes. They used assault in the past also to get votes so they are doing it again in a big way.

Meidas, thank you for keeping us informed with the truth. You are very much appreciated. Keep fighting the good fight, getting in good trouble.

Remember, John Lewis said: "Freedom is not a state; it is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau where we can finally sit down and rest. Freedom is the continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society."

Words to live by!

* The Price of Freedom: A Nation's Stand

My fellow Americans,

We stand at a precipice. The very foundation of our democracy, the principles that define us as a nation – freedom, justice, and the power of the people – are under siege. A regime has taken root that seeks to dismantle these ideals, to centralize power, and to silence the voices of ordinary Americans.

This is not a drill. This is not a partisan debate. This is a battle for the soul of our nation, and we, the American people, are the last line of defense.

To reclaim our democracy, we must face an uncomfortable truth: we must halt the engine that fuels this regime. We must, together, choose to disrupt the very systems it relies upon. This means a collective act of non-cooperation. It means temporarily stopping the flow of productivity that empowers those who seek to undermine us. It means, for a time, accepting financial pain.

I understand the gravity of these words. I know the fear and uncertainty that such a prospect evokes. Families will struggle. Businesses will face hardship. But I ask you: what is the cost of losing our democracy? What is the price of living under a system where our rights are eroded, our voices are silenced, and our future is dictated by a few? That cost, my friends, is far greater and far more enduring than any temporary economic pain we might endure.

Think of those who came before us – who risked everything, who shed blood and treasure, to establish and preserve this nation. They endured famine, war, and unimaginable sacrifice for the promise of a free society. Are we, in this generation, less capable of defending that legacy?

This is not about surrender. This is about strategic withdrawal of our energy and resources from a system that has become weaponized against us. By stopping our collective productivity, we starve the regime of its power. We deny it the resources it needs to perpetuate its control. We create an undeniable crisis that forces a reckoning.

This will be painful. There is no sugarcoating it. But we are a resilient people. We are ingenious. We will organize. We will support each other through community, through shared resources, and through the unbreakable bonds of our common purpose. We must prepare for this pain, knowing that it is the necessary path to a greater good.

The choice before us is stark: a brief, intense period of shared hardship for the promise of a free future, or a slow, agonizing slide into authoritarianism with consequences that will echo for generations.

Let us rise to this challenge. Let us stand together, united in our resolve. Let us choose freedom, no matter the cost. Our democracy, our future, depends on it.

God bless America!

I think a lot of people are afraid of losing their jobs and their income especially those who are working 2 or 3 jobs. Places like Amazon and Home Depot would be relentless in firing those people. What about boycotting places like Amazon and Home Depot and Whole Foods? I will never shop at those places again.

I found an app called Goods that list all stores and entities that support either republican, democratic, or independent parties. I’m finding to be extremely helpful when I’m searching for someplace to buy an item. Both Home Depot and Lowe’s support the Republican Party, as does, of course Amazon, Meta, and the businesses who support the orange idiot. I have been trying very hard to buy only in the stores that support Democrats and democracy.

It's a legalized STRIKE to financially stop funding this oligarchs and dangerous regime. Read the complete website and see FAQ

It's proven to be a successful way to make a change

STRIKE URGENT-NO FEAR

Writing and calling your Senators and Congress members doesn't help at all.

COURAGE WILL!

Expand full comment
Barbara Mullen's avatar

With respect. Writing and calling congress has been proving to work. Showing up at Town Halls works and street protesting has proven to work as well.

My point is this. We throw everything we have at this regime.

I have recommended people in jobs where they could get fired for marching in the streets not march. It does no good to sacrifice the well-being of your children if you get fired. The same goes for a strike. Joe Smith losing his job at Amazon and not having health insurance for his sick child serves no one.

We need to be tactical in what we can do. Throwing ourselves under the train serves no purpose. This isn't about being a martyr.

Frankly. We are all afraid. We will do what we can in spite of the fear.

There was an article about Amazon adhering to the trump policy of revoking work permits and they are telling their workers ---BYE Interestingly enough they also said that Amazon was going to help these employees with low cost legal help.

Expand full comment
RobinW's avatar

Sounds like Amazon is the arsonist and the fire department.

How are fired prior green card holder employees that Amazon had revoked suppose to afford legal advice no matter how low cost it is?

It's absolute utter hypocrisy.

Bezos wants to say yea.. we revoked their employment, helped get their green card revoked, but we are the good guys and got them low cost legal advice so see, I'm not a total arsehat oligarch jerk huh?

Susan Raquel's avatar

If I come across the article I will post it. There was more to it; but, that was all I could remember. I think it said something about letters being sent to other large companies and maybe even listing the names of those whose permits were revoked.

I think Amazon is closing some warehouses , talking about using robots and changing some of the Prime features -- something that was free and will no longer be available??? I've never had Prime so don't know what else might be changing.

Pretty soon it won't just be bending the knee, he will be laying down flat on his face.

The entity you fight in court CANNOT be the one footing the bill for your legal services. You can't have your own strategy to win, if the opponent is controlling your every move in court.

This fake goodwill, and a trap... "help these employees with low cost legal help."

Amazon warehouse workers from countries like Haiti and Venezuela have lost their jobs due to the Trump administration's cancellation of humanitarian immigration programs.

Several former Amazon staffers who spoke to CNBC said they were dismissed by Amazon in late June after they couldn't get new work authorizations.

Other companies including Walmart and Disney have been forced to fire employees or put them on leave in order to comply with shifting federal policies.

The company has provided impacted employees with information about where to find free or low-cost legal services, access to counseling support and other resources, Rocha said.

I may have missed this, but can you report on what Democrats are doing throughout the USA and in Congress and the Senate to counter the Republican narrative? I'm worried the Democrats aren't going to win in the 2026 mid terms and stop this madness Trump is inflicting on the US and globally.

Remember the Republicans who votef for the Big Ugly Bill have likely voted themselves out of favor in their home states!

That being the case, they've helped Democrats in securing a return to sanity! Yes, Democrats must focus on messenging. They have a much easier job of it this time around because of the bloody mess the orange pumpkin head continues to make daily!

They are destroying themselves from within. The best thing? Dumpty Dirtbag is also going down the tubes--figuratively and literally. He looks the worse for wear every time he waddles up to the mic. Good.

You, your family, and all of your presenters are a joy to watch, it's just sad that the circumstances are so heartbreaking, cruel and downright insane atm. Not all Maga or non-voters might be watching just now. It might be helpful if posters were put up in legal places, or social media mass posting by the peaceful protesters, showing the really bad parts of the BBB, (The Bielzebub, greed, poverty & death bill) and when they take effect, so people see they have been discarded for the rich; who at least some of them wanting rid of the migrants, are birthright citizens of migrants or migrants themselves. I just don't understand why reporters aren't more blunt in their questioning of Trump, and ask him if his grandfather deserved to be kept in a cage, in Alligator Aushwitz, eating food with maggots, very little food and water at that, and the inhuman way these people are being kept. There are rules at how prisoners of war can be kept, and these people, most were there because they were allowed to be there, by President Biden. They are breaking International law. All normal prisons, should be inspected now also, to see if people are being kept in humane conditions. They should be allowed to be inspected at any time, without notice. They should meet fire and safety regulations, and human rights laws all the time, not just at inspection times. If there is a fire, how do they get out of these locked cages? Are these guards at Alligator even oroperly trained by the prison service?

Thank you for your tireless work, I hope you get your country back, and get rid of this evil infestation asap.
