I do call my Senators, but they in fact are more trumpy than trumpy (Josh Hawley and Eric Schmitt). They do not think the Constitution is something that should be followed as law and the only good parts are those that allow them to carry assault weapons. Here in Missouri the state officials always just overturn the will of the voters...sometimes they lose in Court (like with medicaid expansion that the voters approved and they said no to, reproductive rights including no bans on abortion with the voters approved and they overturned, increase in minimum wage and guaranteed sick leave for workers (very minimum) which the voters approved and they just said no we won't require that and now trying to redistrict as per trump's instructions even though the law says they can't do it (again we have a petition circulating to at least get it on the ballot, and not just accept what they did), telling state law enforcement officials they don't need to follow federal laws regarding gun possession.
They both have daughters, and you'd think that would make them especially concerned about justice for victims, but loyalty to trump is more important than anything. Schmitt has a special needs, non verbal son and you'd think that would give him compassion for others who need health care and education for their special needs children, but again, loyalty to trump is more important.
Don’t just call your own senators. You need to call the appropriation senators. There’s a list on Google and you need to call the armed services senators they approve military action. The appropriation center in charge is Susan Collins. I think the arm service is ones is Dan Sullivan but this information is available onGoogle last week two times a week. I called appropriations and I called the arm services ones sometimes calling your own senators are fruitless but when you call, you don’t have to say you’re not from their district. I just start leaving the messages. Have had enough people call. They should get the message.
