Ben I really hope you will interview Father Greg Boyle who founded Homeboy Industries in Boyle Heights over 30 years ago. With this latest ICE action, his knowledge of the targets is invaluable. His is the largest gang intervention organization in the world, and 10s of thousands of homies have passed through his doors. No doubt many, many are undocumented, and probably 99% are Hispanic and Black.
He is one of the best people on the planet, beloved and honest and erudite. He is incredibly well spoken and sharp, compassionate and fierce. I would love to know his perspective on the LA protests (becoming riots), because I know the carceral system and how dehumanized these kids and adults already have been.
