This is a powerful Sunday message. What gives me hope is seeing independent voices refusing to give up, even when the political environment becomes exhausting and difficult. Democracy cannot survive only through politicians or big media companies. It also needs journalists, independent media, and ordinary citizens who are willing to pay attention and speak up. We should continue demanding facts and accountability from everyone in power, no matter which political side they belong to. Thank you for continuing the fight for truth and for keeping these important stories in front of the public

I think your comment about feeling less along is true for many (maybe millions??I have no idea how many subscribers there are!) of us. I for one an in that boat. I don't believe it and be overstated how important that is. I live in a 99% trump area. My neighbors have threatened to burn down the homes of any non trump supporters. Because of genuine fear of that and that they might kill my livestock I do not openly participate in anything. I never thought I'd have to live like this. It concerns me that I get mail from the ACLU and SPLC. Having the moral support of the entire MTN family helps me keep up my morale and keep me going...to donate when I can, to make phone calls, to support independent media so more and more people will know the truth. And seeing the likes of Adam Mockler and the other relatively young reporters (and to be honest almost everyone is young to me!!!) gives me great hope for the future...the fire in these folks will not die out. And without MTN I don't know how much I'd know about them. So thank you for your comment...that makes ME feel less alone!
Hey PR., Same on the surrounded by Red Loonies...we here... stand in wonder when we have to talk with any of them. We always think that we may have missed something. Some thread, some clue, a sign as to what the fuck they are talking about. I live in very rural Ozark Mountains and while I don't like to stereotype folks, there is a culture here of belittling education and/or critical thinking. My lifestyle is such that I don't need to talk to many folks (really..one trip to town a week, a few words to the clerk at the farm store, then self check out at Walmart) but wow, sometimes you just can't help overhearing stuff!

May I suggest that you request that they remove you from their mailing lists, and request communications via email only. You could also set up a separate email account for those communications, as I have done, out of fear of their member/donor lists becoming compromised and used against us by the radical right.
It's difficult to have zero footprint on the internet, but you can improve your odds. Some people might utilize a VPN. Further, they might get an anonymous email that is not linked to themselves in any way. For example, they might get a free email account at <https://account.proton.me/mail/signup> but they don't link it to an existing email or any phone number. Then you might use Duck-Duck or Firefox browsers to access it. Firefix claims to have a free built-in, free VPN you can turn on. I use a subscription-based product that is always on. A super easy thing someone can do is sign up for a FREE Google Voice account. GV gives you a real phone number that you keep, and you can choose to have it ring another phone, your PC, or only forward the voice and text messages to your email.

I think that is true about abandoning ship..I hope so. And yes we can do this, and the key word it together!!!! Whatever minor differences we have in the Democratic party we have to set aside and maybe dome big ones, although I'm not sure what they are!!!! And to be honest I think an awful lot of republicans, including maga folks have the same values and wants and needs as a lot of democrats...there is of course a portion of the party that is very racist but I'm not sure how much. And we need to tap into those common wants/needs....I think we all want affordable health care (and available), child care, groceries and insurance and cars and housing. We have an opportunity to say "Hey, the Republicans said they'd give you all those things, but didn't have any plans and have not come through on any one of their promises ("securing" the border has hurt more businesses that has helped anyone except the private prisons), but we have plan, this is what it is, and we will follow through if we have enough votes to implement these things that will help you." I have no idea if the DNC uses an approach like this at all... I really don't know what they do. But we need to encourage candidates to interact with voters with that approach I think. We need to downplay impeaching trump and emphasize with specifics and numbers what we will do to help working class Americans. And even I in my isolation can do something..I make (relatively useless) calls, I support independent media so more and more people can become aware of the truth, and I donate some (depending on how important you think not having credit card debt possibly more than I should!). And as I seem to be saying over and over, if someone can donate $4 to a candidate and be sure it goes to the candidate, that can buy a gallon of gas in most places which can mean maybe 20-30 home visits to talk face to face with unhappy republicans to share our message of hope and solutions.
East Texas here. I'm surrounded by magas. I think there is one democratic household left in a 2500 home area. The other one moved to be closer to family. We've had 3 houses bought by MAGAs from California. There are still banners and signs hanging and posted in their yards.
I had many friends and acquaintances before 2015, but I also observed them as they morphed into MAGAs. Luckily my sisters are not magas, so, though we live far apart, we can at least zoom and support each other.
I've been threatened physically and verbally because I wore a mask during the mask mandate. I still wear one but am careful about where I go, and now I always check to see if folks are armed. But the sheriff and country judge announced they would not enforce the mandate, so we were on our own. That kind of behavior has died down a bit; though I still get stupid people objecting. But nobody has threatened to burn our house down, so far. I'm so very sorry you've had to cope with them.
And I'm quite sure all your neighbors go to what they call Bible Believing churches and praise Jesus as their savior )and claim trump is the second coming because they all know when Jesus comes back he will come back as a convicted sex offender)....but somehow are fine with ignoring everything he said, and most of what the old Testament said, they all love one verse in Leviticus that says a man should not lay down with another man but conveniently ignore all the other verses like don't plant two different crops in the same garden or don't wear clothing make of mixed fibers (is there a label checker at the church door to banish all those with a polyester blend on???). Of course many claim the New Testament and Jesus did away with these rules, (except the Ten Commandments and only a few of them really have to be obeyed...well actually none..... but we need to post them for some weird reason in classrooms)....but I guess not the one about a man having sex with another man??? Such hypocrites!!!!
