We feel helpless and hopeless in the current state of our nation. How long will this go on? Project 2025 is advancing and the ordinary people do not have the billions to counter the rich oligarchs. Thank you for being our voice. BTW, my ardent wish is for a Nuremberg-type of trial once he is out of office. There is a lot in his administration that needs jail time!

D, forgive me, but there are no “ordinary people” any longer: There are American Heroes, there are Evil Villains, and people thinking that they’re bystanders will find out that they’re victims. Recusing ourselves from the economy is step one.

FDR had a sign on his desk that read: "Let unconquerable gladness dwell,” still in his Tarrytown home, and it got him through Great Depression and a World War. The morass you feel will get deeper and more binding with every outrage they commit - intentional quicksand of the spirit.

Don’t give in!

Grab an envelope, a piece of paper and write your Congress Critter … Red, Blue, regardless (mine is Chip Roy, for crying out loud, after 2020 redistricting)… If red like Roy, I point out that power willingly surrendered is rarely returned, they are setting precedent and that constitutional authority, like a muscle, atrophied if unexercised. Letters carry weight, emails don’t. (One signed letter represents a thousand ballots in the box. One email represents one-tenth of a vote — 10 times as many email as actually castbqllots.)

The value of a phone call, if in a MAGAhood with a MAGArep is twofold, if you reach someone:

They can’t be busy actively violating the constitution while on the phone; and you’ll get the satisfaction of being heard by a human being (we may be in the last decade of wetware phone responders) who could possibly, maybe, in passing, note your concerns but only delivered in a thoughtful, respectful manner. That stands out! A rant, of which I’ve certainly been guilty when wearing younger man’s clothes, is like talking to a Great Pyrenees: Waste of your time and apparently unheard be the los tener.

Military coups are most often failures, or they implement equally bad power grab governance.

AI: "2024

Bolivia: In June, an attempted coup led by General Juan José Zúñiga failed after President Luis Arce appointed a new army commander. Soldiers and armored vehicles briefly occupied the Plaza Murillo in La Paz before withdrawing.

Democratic Republic of the Congo: In May, an attempted coup against President Félix Tshisekedi's government was foiled. Assailants, including three U.S. citizens, attacked the presidential palace and the home of a government minister.

Armenia: In September, Armenia's government announced that it had thwarted a coup attempt by pro-Russian individuals.

Ukraine: In July, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said it foiled a pro-Russian coup attempt involving a Kyiv-based non-governmental organization (NGO).

Benin: In September, authorities arrested the former sports minister and a prominent businessman for allegedly plotting a coup.

South Korea: In December, an attempted coup involving South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol failed."

Good brainstorm session though. We need more input - more ideas - for finding the best solution to our current urgent predicament.

Let's take the history of Argentina into account:

AI Overview:

"While Argentina has a history of military coups, the country is currently a stable democracy and has not had a military coup since 1976. The country transitioned to democracy in 1983 and the military has since been under firm civilian control.

Historical military interventions

Between 1930 and 1976, Argentina's government was frequently interrupted by military interventions and dictatorships. The military overthrew six governments during this period and installed military rulers as presidents.

Last coup (1976): The final military coup occurred on March 24, 1976, overthrowing President Isabel Perón. The military junta that took power ruled Argentina through a brutal period of state terrorism known as the "Dirty War". An estimated 10,000 to 30,000 people were killed or forcibly "disappeared" by the regime.

Transition to democracy (1983): The junta's rule ended in 1983 following Argentina's defeat in the Falklands War and economic collapse. Democratic elections were held, and the country has been under civilian control ever since.

Failed uprisings (1987–1990): While some military insurrections attempted to challenge the democratic government in the late 1980s, they ultimately failed.

Current democratic government

Today, Argentina is a federal constitutional republic with a democratically elected government. The current President is Javier Milei, who took office in December 2023 following a competitive election.

Challenges to political stability

Although there has not been a military coup in decades, the country still faces political challenges, including:

-Economic instability and high inflation

-A fragmented Congress

-Weakened institutions and corruption

-Occasional mass protests related to economic reforms"

"AI Overview:

As of October 2025, both Donald Trump and Elon Musk have shown interest in Argentina's minerals, including its extensive lithium reserves, through their separate and sometimes diverging strategies with the current government. Their interest in Argentina is often tied to countering China's influence and securing critical minerals for American industries.

Elon Musk's interest

Musk's interest in Argentine minerals, particularly lithium, is driven by the needs of his electric vehicle company, Tesla. He has fostered a public relationship with Argentine President Javier Milei and encouraged investment in the country.

Relationship with Milei: Musk has been a vocal supporter of Milei's libertarian policies since his 2023 election. They have met on multiple occasions, including at Tesla's factory in Texas and at the 2025 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Encouraging investment: In September 2024, Musk announced on X (formerly Twitter) that his companies were actively looking for ways to invest in and support Argentina.

Securing lithium: With Argentina holding the world's fourth-largest lithium reserves, Musk's outreach to Milei is seen as an effort to secure this vital material for Tesla's electric vehicle battery production.

MSNBC: "With potential Argentina bailout, Trump tries to stop a MAGA role model from imploding

"Donald Trump and his administration are preparing to hurl billions of dollars at Argentina to prevent its MAGA-inspired administration from going up in flames.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s announcement last week that the U.S. is in talks to provide more than $20 billion in a currency swap, along with other forms of aid, to prop up the South American country’s economy — and thereby aid President Javier Milei’s flailing administration — is a clear sign that the political outlook for Milei has soured in recent months.

For years now, Trump and the MAGA movement have portrayed Argentina’s right-wing leader and his administration as a shining example of what deep cuts to federal programs — mostly, targeting the poor and the middle class — can do. But Argentina’s economy has continued to suffer under Milei’s policies, undermining Trump’s rosy portrayal."

The more we understand and learn the truth about, the better. More research options - one example.

Elon's latest endeavors represents a mixed bag for me, as a caregiver of a loved one afflicted with Alzheimer's dementia.

1) "Harvard Medical School: Could Lithium Explain — and Treat — Alzheimer’s Disease?

Study shows for the first time that lithium plays an essential role in normal brain function and can confer resistance to brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease.

Scientists discovered that lithium is depleted in the brain by binding to toxic amyloid plaques — revealing a new way Alzheimer’s may begin.

A new class of lithium-based compounds avoids plaque binding and reverses Alzheimer’s and brain aging in mice, without toxicity."

Can Lithium Prevent Alzheimer’s? | Neurologist Explains New 2025 Study

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2O9FN4tdDQ

2) AI:

The name of the chip in the brain developed by Elon Musk's company is the Neuralink implant, also known as "the Link". It is a coin-sized, fully implantable microchip designed to record and decode brain activity and stimulate the brain, with initial goals of helping paralyzed patients control digital devices with their thoughts.

How it works:

Tiny, hair-thin threads with electrodes are surgically implanted into the brain's cerebral cortex.

These electrodes capture brain signals, which are then translated by the chip into actions, such as moving a computer mouse or typing text.

The implant is wirelessly charged and communicates with external devices via a Bluetooth connection. "

From my perspective, the protests are all good, but many of them are like school outings. You name a date, people assemble on the given date, hold their mostly peaceful protest and then go home and wait for the next 'school outing'. As someone else from Europe said elsewhere on Substack, you can't succeed like that. You have to protest peacefully every day relentlessly in as large a numbers as possible and in as many places as possible. You keep the administration off balance, you engage in withdrawal of labour. You just need to look at Poland and Romania that shed the soviet yoke for an example.

I too have been asking myself the same question. I googled “Putin stokes division in America 2015” & posted the result to Facebook the other day as a reminder. Kinda long but here it is:

We can all agree America is polarized. Division runs deep on practically anything & everything. It’s worth remembering when it started getting bad. Russia’s Vladimir Putin targeted our society in 2014 through social media. The current US administration considers Putin a friend. They have benefited from his interference and continue it. Here’s a brief summary:

While Vladimir Putin's efforts to stoke division in America became widely known after the 2016 election, reports confirm that Russian campaigns began in 2014 and were active in 2015. A declassified assessment from the U.S. intelligence community stated that Putin personally ordered an influence campaign aimed at the U.S., utilizing both covert and overt methods to polarize public discourse and undermine democratic processes.

Key activities from 2015 and preceding years include:

Information warfare: Russian influence campaigns, such as those run by the Internet Research Agency (IRA), used social media to sow political and social discord. In 2015, this included targeting sensitive issues like race, immigration, and gun rights to stir up animosity.

Support for extremist movements: Russian officials cultivated ties and supported extremist political movements. In October 2015, a meeting of fringe groups in Russia stoked anti-American sentiment, with one official comparing the U.S. government to a "gang of vampires".

Targeting African-American communities: Russia's influence campaign specifically targeted African-American communities with disinformation to sow distrust in democratic institutions and suppress voter turnout. For example, the IRA ran pages like "Blacktivist" on social media.

Cyberoperations: A multi-pronged cyberattack campaign began in 2014, including the hacking of the U.S. State Department and White House computer networks. By September 2015, Russian military intelligence hacked Democratic National Committee (DNC) servers and began stealing emails, which were later leaked to influence the 2016 election.

Amplification of anti-American themes: Russia's messaging played on existing divisions by portraying the U.S. as weak and inconsistent. As early as April 2015, reports noted Russia's advancing propaganda machine, which promoted anti-American narratives.

We have to not let them get away with dividing the United States.

We have more in common than divides us. Life is too short to waste time hating Try to see the good in others. Kindness costs us nothing.

I feel hated by my own government. It makes me cry to see people beat up by masked army thugs. Now they abandon us, their jobs. In the army they call that AWOL. Yet they have no consequences. Rejecting it, all of it. I hear you Mr. M. Thank you .🙏

Black Hawk helicopters landing in the middle of the night should be all over the news but nope. Nada. Unless Americans start screaming, louder than they are right now, this regime may win. NO KINGS and no backing down. Tyranny always loses but how long will it take?

Far too many are doing literally ZERO. And the American big media is beyond disgusting in their coverage. During elections they showed trump 24/7 thus normalizing his insanity. Big Media is MASSIVELY to blame for the sh*tshow USA has become. Big media represents their billionaire owners, NOT AMERICANS.

How many of us will be killed. Our children and grandchildren are going to pay the price of our inaction. Democrats and Independents must get a grip. Leaders knew but did no real preparation to prevent this. We must fight back!

Whatever has fuxkfaces name on it. I keep saying, he needs to be shut down by not getting every move he makes turned into a news cycle! No one should show up to the press pool. They should be covering the goons squads . Hounding them. Exposing them.

There is going to be an explosion of violence . Its coming. IMO I hope the military is getting ready for that. What else is left for the fascists to do. They already said it. BELIEVE WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. Not listening got us here. It will push us over the edge.

My 2 cents. Unpeaceful protests are going to lead to martial law, no midterms. This regime manufacturers lies, deception and perception. People must unfortunately not engage/antagonize ICE/ National Guard. We must stay away from ICE facilities. Protesters must wrap their brain around this.

I have said this since back in 2016–get him off the news period—like right now he is nowhere in sight but his cronies keep doing all of these illegal things and his picture is plastered on the internet even on Substack. He is enthralled with all of this attention. I disabled cable because he was always in your face. Beaches and the woods know nothing of him.

I totally agree with you! That means our military is now involved in putting "we the people" are in the cross hairs of our military. Military can never raise up against citizens (who were in that apartment complex!) please Medias make that be understood.

I know Beth… it is so deranged. We’re sheep being led to slaughter and the press isn’t exercising its constitutional rights…boycott network TV. They are not doing their job and they’re killing democracy.

They have destroyed our country. I blame every single person that voted for this, I'll never forgive them. I also heard on other outlets thats

that he and Maga Mike are trying to keep the government shut down to cripple next year's mid-terms. Atp i wouldn't put it past them. They know if elections are held fairly, that's the end of them and the Republican party and they're terrified of Dems holding the majority.
