NEW: The Grift Count: 6 Corruption Scandals Hit the White House So Far This Week

The count stood at four. Today it reaches nine: the ballroom's $330 million donors, Tether and Bo Hines, Musk's $94 million for the House, a senator's water project and the Kennedy Center's money.

This is the running count of who is getting paid around this administration. It stood at four on Oct. 8. Thursday adds five.

5. The ballroom's $330 million. The Washington Post obtained the donor list for Trump's White House ballroom: 57 companies gave $100,000 or more; Nvidia, Apple, the Adelson Foundation and Charlie Ergen gave $25 million each; Google gave $22 million as part of its YouTube settlement over Jan. 6; at least $77 million came in anonymously. Trump, who pledged to pay part of it, is not on the list.

Why it matters: The companies that need the White House most paid for the room where it entertains, and a third of the money has no name on it.

6. Bo Hines and Tether. Tether paid $6.3 million to a firm run by Bo Hines and his father while Hines ran Trump's digital-assets council and worked the GENIUS Act, Journal reporters found; the money moved through a public-affairs firm, starting with $2.49 million from Bitfinex in May 2025. Hines's firm says he received no Tether-derived funds and had no economic relationship with Tether while in the White House.

Why it matters: Tether is the lender behind Howard Lutnick's $130 billion reserve, and Hines wrote its law while Tether's money was one step from his family firm.

7. Musk's $94 million. Elon Musk and Timothy Mellon are among the donors who put $94 million into the House Republican super PAC, the New York Times reported, the same week Musk's Starlink throttle hit Kyiv.

Why it matters: Musk restricts Ukraine's satellites one night and buys the House that would ask him why the next.

8. Sen. Roger Marshall's $4.2 million. The Kansas Republican who campaigns against government waste sought $4.2 million in federal money for a water project that could benefit his own ranch, the Associated Press reported.

Why it matters: The waste hawk found one project worth funding, and it runs past his fence.

9. The Kennedy Center's missing money. The White House is reviewing Alina Habba's claim that Ric Grenell failed to deposit millions her husband donated to the Kennedy Center, Axios reported; the New York Post puts the figure at $5.6 million.

Why it matters: The money went in under Trump's own chairmanship, and the fight over where it went is between two of his appointees.

The count stands at nine. It carries over tomorrow.

AI by itself is not a threat to humanity! It only becomes a threat when you have humans with bad judgement — decide to put a wonky, unproven technology in control of critical processes. This is similar to what would happen if humans were to put an unintelligent, unskilled, immoral, unethical, and incompetent person in charge of running our country!

The name, "Artificial Intelligence" is an accurate name, and lets the public know that the intelligence derived from this process, is different from a process that is inherently human. The word, "artificial" makes no claims of the quality, nor the validity of this, "intelligence"! Donald Trump likes the name, "Super Intelligence" because he thinks it will help his wallet more than a name that may imply that it is fake intelligence! There is nothing, "Super" about a technology that accidentally blows up a little girl's school in Iran, and kills more than 175 people — due to bad data! Accidents will continue to happen as long as, "data in = data out" — and/or if the data gets incorrectly manipulated by the AI algorithm! Hyped-up naming of this technology should only follow time tested performance results, and not be done at the whim of a greedy President, who prefers to put his wealth above the welfare, and safety of the public!

PFAS chemicals never go away once they enter your body. They just accumulate in your tissues. No amount is safe to ingest! Yet, Republicans are weakening the Biden-era protections put into place. Their argument is that compliance is too costly. Our country used to have the highest life expectancy among developed nations. Now, China has a higher life expectancy.

Here in Northern New Mexico, the Questa community is pushing back on a planned “green” hydrogen plant by Kit Carson Electric Co-op funded by grants from the USDA and backing from Chevron who wishes to profit from their closed molybdenum mine resources after it became a superfund cleanup project. We are in an arid climate suffering from drought and private wells are already drying up. In addition, it is next the elementary school. There has been no transparency and it is being pushed through without any regard for the consequences.

Pass to all.

Our Detroit billboard has been up for three days, and the issue of diesel costs for school districts is beginning to sink in nationally.

We ran to take a picture of the board you helped fund the first day it was live:

A photo of the Dekleptocracy billboard showing that thanks to Trump's Iran war, Michigan schools are likely to pay millions extra for diesel fuel.

The original numbers already need an update.

A gallon in Metro Detroit runs $6.56 right now. One month ago it was $6.11, and one year ago it was $3.70.

HELP KEEP THE BOARD UP TO SHOW THE INCREASING DAMAGE OF TRUMP'S ILLEGAL WAR

Every truck, school bus, and delivery van in Michigan is paying nearly double what it paid last October.

All because Trump launched an illegal war that choked off the world’s oil, and our elected representatives chose not to enforce the law.

Trump knows he’s in trouble because of diesel prices, which is why he jumped at Putin’s gesture to sell Russian diesel to the US.

Putin desperately needs Ukraine to stop striking Russian oil infrastructure, so Saturday, Trump dutifully posted that an “energy ceasefire” between Russia and Ukraine was in effect and ordered both sides to obey.

Within hours, Russia hit six Ukrainian energy facilities, and its foreign minister sneered that Ukraine “does not deserve the respite.”

A screenshot of a BBC article with the headline,

Less than 48 hours later, the White House walked it all back as merely a “potential deal.”

Chip in today to keep our billboard standing through all of this spin, because a 40-foot sign on the highway stays accurate no matter what gets posted on Truth Social at midnight.

This morning, Ukraine showed how little they respect Trump’s word and struck Russian refineries hard.

Notice what never came up in any of Trump's mess: a single policy that would lower your price at the pump.

No release from the reserve he already drained or a push to reopen Hormuz. Only ending this foolish Iran War will fix this.

Nothing beyond a midnight social media post.

The man who broke the oil market has stopped even pretending to fix it. And Congress is too afraid of him to stand up for you.

Meanwhile, the price board at every Michigan truck stop keeps telling the story no Truth Social rant can bury.

School districts budgeted for $3.70 diesel and are paying $6.56, which lands on classrooms, bus routes, and eventually your property taxes.

Mail ballots are in voters’ hands right now.

Our billboard gets 482,848 impressions per week — that means real people sitting in their cars on the highway, seeing our message — and we want it joined by boards in more states before Election Day.

Help us expand this campaign while the prices on those truck stop signs are doing half our arguing for us.
