INDEPENDENT MEDIA IS UNDER ATTACK!!!

Hi friends. Independent media is under attack. This is not a drill. I warned you that the Trump regime was coming for us. Now it’s happening.

As you likely know by now, the Trump regime has arrested our friend, independent journalist Don Lemon, for covering ICE protests. This is despite the fact that the DOJ’s original criminal complaint against Lemon was rejected by Magistrate Judge Douglas Micko, who refused to sign it. The DOJ appealed that decision and was rejected again. The chief judge who denied the appeal, Patrick J. Schiltz, is a former Scalia clerk and a George W. Bush appointee. Even that wasn’t enough for the Trump regime to back down.

They pushed forward anyway.

Federal agents also arrested Georgia Fort, an independent journalist and vice president of the Minnesota NABJ chapter, who was likewise covering the ICE protests.

There’s a famous saying: “First they came for the journalists. We don’t know what happened after that.”

Right now, I want to send my full support to Don Lemon and Georgia Fort. We stand with them, with all independent journalists, and with every fearless reporter who refuses to capitulate to this regime and continues holding it accountable.

This is a moment that demands solidarity. Please show your support. Follow them on their platforms. Share their work. Uplift their voices.

Now is the time to stand up for independent media, and for each other. Independent outlets don’t have billions in corporate money to protect us when an authoritarian regime comes after us. What we do have is something far more powerful: people power.

We will not bend.
We will not break.
We will not waver from our mission. No matter the stakes.
