A professor of mathematics & philosophy from the adjacent campus of California State University at Channel Islands (in Camarillo) was detained for a lengthy period because he was there as a witness when ICE raided a legal marijuana grow business (Glass House Farms) which resulted in the death of 1 person who fell 30' while trying to hide from ICE.
The professor is brown. And a citizen of what used to be the usa.
I saw this on the MTN on all 60” of my mounted flat screen TV at 3 am this morning, and it had me laughing, which was a great thing, since I was up that late, or early (D/R, same coin, different sides), until the more sobering news about what is happening to our economy. Thank you; I needed that

In my last two trips to the grocery store, buying only essentials and no meat, I have spent a little more each time. $8 extra the first time and a little over $10 extra the second time. Gas is $3.17 today and usually it goes down to $3 or $3.03 and then jumps to $3.40 every time. Goes up by 40 cents and comes down pennies at a time. All of our gas station are always the same price. No competition. I have already found myself doing without some groceries that I wanted.
See the corporate media is not reporting this as a "hair on fire" moment. they are treating at like a "wait and see" maybe the tariffs will have an impact maybe they won't. I mean, really??? One point they don't seem to focus on is that the tariffs haven't actually been implemented, not really? And from my observation, it is summer, people are still traveling, eating out ... restaurants are packed with long waits, people are shopping, I would like to believe everything is going to be okay and we can weather the storm until we can vote in a better administration, I don't know.
Having been part of the group of people who paid mortgage interest at 13%, I'm not having any sympathy for those have to pay 7%. And I had/have excellent credit.
My favorite multi-grain bread was $1.99 when Trump took office. Now it's $3.29 and I have a different favorite bread that is far inferior but much cheaper.
