Kenneth Copeland: Homosexual Lesbian Spirits Must be Defeated in Election

He didn't say whether they have cats though.

Republicans continue their bizarre attacks on women during this election cycle, as Trump supporter and  televangelist Kenneth Copeland has now singled out lesbians as the source of true evil in America today who must be defeated in this election.

Copeland, the founder of Eagle Mountain International Church, is the wealthiest pastor in the US with an estimated net worth of $760 million. He lives in a tax free 18,000 square foot mansion. He has a fleet of private jets. He heads a huge congregation and had his sermons and services broadcast on Victory Channel and other religious channels for years. Whenever it is time to add to his fleet of aircraft, he explains to his congregation that it was God's will for them to private the money for it.

Naturally, Copeland is a hard-core Trump supporter. Copeland has not been shy about his love for Donald Trump. He served on the advisory board of evangelical pastors who came together to rally support for him in 2016 at a time when most evangelical voters wanted nothing to do with him because of his past indiscretions. Copeland attended a State Dinner in the White House at Trump's invitation, and he spoke at a Trump rally in PA in 2022 at the invitation of the campaign. 

Now Copeland has decided that he wants to build on JD Vance's derision of "childless cat ladies" with a claim that homosexual women are the source of evil in this world, and their candidates must be defeated by God with the help of lots of prayers (and donations to Copeland). He just implored God in a prayer to a group of christian nationalists gathered rallying for this election to intervene:

"In school board elections, judges, sheriffs, mayors, city managers, college presidents, those who refused to hold to your will, remove them and put someone in there that will ... We pray for people - the devil is trying to ruin their lives with perverted ideas and perverted ways ... And we break the power of the homosexual lesbian spirits that are trying to ruin our children and ruin this nation. Get out of there! We sit by throne and you are under our feet!"

There really is not much difference between Donald Trump and these political televangelists. They both enrich themselves by taking advantage of gullible people while providing nothing to benefit their lives in return. Their version of christianity doesn't sound very much like the teachings of Jesus. They both demonstrate hypocrisy on a daily basis as their words bear little resemblance to their actions. What their followers believe about them is the exact opposite of who they really are.

Donald Trump learned a lot from political evangelical pastors in 2016 - he learned how to manipulate their flock for their own personal benefit. And they are both still at it.

Unless those homosexual lesbian spirits get the last laugh.
