Instead of negotiating an end to the shutdown, Donald Trump and his administration have threatened mass firings, even pledging to renege on a law he signed to guarantee backpay to workers after a shutdown. Trump sees a path to political victory through punishing the workers who keep Social Security working, who make sure our water is safe to drink, and who take care of our veterans.
The people who are working at Social Security offices, still making sure seniors’ checks go out on time won’t get their own check this week. Their bills didn’t stop. The rent is still due, and they still have families who need to eat. We need solidarity, not charity.
The Labor Force is distributing grocery cards to federal workers during this shutdown. Can you pitch in to buy a load of groceries this week?

I have seen The Labor Force's website at thelaborforce.org . I cannot find anything about who is behind their website or who are the people who make up their organization. I do not find a street address or phone number, only a couple of contact forms. The website is created in WordPress, which isn't hard for anyone to do (unless you want to customize it beyond whatever theme you decide to use). My best guess is that this is a website put up by a single person. Perhaps that person does training for union building, perhaps not. There is some good news information on the website, but anyone could do that. The website was created on June 10 2024, so it is 1 year, 4 months old, according to an ICANN lookup. I cannot find them listed by Charity Navigator.
I'm not saying it is, but it could be, a scam. I haven't checked out "United for Democracy," but if that is a legitimate organization, they could have been duped in their enthusiasm for partnering to help both their own organization and The Labor Force.

I am outraged at the idea that RED states National Guards are being sent to BLUE states! I thought this was the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. No other states’ Guards should be invading/patroling/ policing their neighbors and follow citizens.
