I believe that by not redacting the survivors' pics & info was done in retaliation for them demanding the release of the Epstein files & as an intimidation tactic to get them to quit.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Unquestionably, and as a warning that more and much worse exists and will be used at will

Linda Weide's avatar

Yes. Pam Bond is setting them up to be killed.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

What source can I refer to that substantiates this assertion?

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Same question: based on speculation or on documented, objectively verifiable data?

The Angry Prole's avatar

Peter Meyer's avatar

Is it possible they disclosed this personal info by design to discourage our push for more files to be released? If so, what a cruel viscous tactic!

Every institution that claimed to protect those girls: DOJ, FBI, federal prosecutors, both political parties; had the evidence and chose silence. Not because they couldn’t act. Because acting meant exposing their own.

Epstein trafficked children for decades. He got a 13-month work-release deal in 2008. Obama’s DOJ had the files and did nothing. Trump’s DOJ let him die in federal custody before trial. Biden’s DOJ sat on 6 million pages until Congress forced their hand. Then claimed they’d “met their obligations” while withholding half.

The victims got nothing. No justice, no accountability, no prosecution of the men who raped them. Instead, those men run countries, lead institutions, decide elections, shape policy.

And both parties protected it. Because both parties were in it.

This isn’t “government failure.” It’s government operating exactly as designed: protecting power, burying evidence, sacrificing the powerless to preserve the structure. The DOJ isn’t broken, it’s working. Working for the people in the files, not the girls they trafficked.

You want historical comparison? Most authoritarian states are more honest. They don’t pretend to have rule of law. We do. We built elaborate institutions: courts, prosecutors, constitutional protections, then used them to bury evidence of elite pedophilia for 20 years while lecturing the world about human rights.

The country that claims moral authority on democracy spent two decades protecting a child sex trafficking ring because prosecuting it would expose too many powerful people.

That’s not failure. That’s the system revealing what it actually protects. And it’s not the girls.

You didnt mention that Biden administration had an ongoing investigation which was closed by Trump admin, and the prosecutor, a woman of course, was fired by same

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

I join you. I have made this point several times, though not as well as you just did. Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden, Trump. Where were the DOJ, FBI for each? How did Alex Acosta pull off the 2007 fraud? Why did Merrick Garland drag his a$$ for four years until the clock ran out? The monied interests of America bought protection.

Johan's avatar

Yep completely

Julie's avatar

This reminds me of when i worked a corporate job. My supervisor announced medical information to my peers. A blatant HIPPA violation. I was gaslighted and lied to. I kept records. I complained to the HR department. The HR department ignored the complaints. The gaslighting and lying continued.

Suffice to say that the HR department had no intention of doing anything. I could have sued, but did not.

Lesson learned.

No one cares about a victim. It seems our government feels the same way.

As a woman, predators are everywhere. Rules, regulations and laws mean nothing if those breaking said rules, regulations and laws are never brought to account, or the system is rigged so they never have to account first their actions.

Johan's avatar

Every FBI agent who read those files and stayed silent chose their pension over those girls. Every prosecutor who declined to charge chose their career over justice. Every politician who knew and said nothing chose power over morality.

The incentive structure makes compliance rational.

But rational isn’t moral.

Nazi bystanders had rational incentives too: speaking up meant death, silence meant survival. We still call them complicit. Because at some point, “I would have lost my job” stops being justification for enabling child rape.

The structure creates the choice. Individuals still make it.

Thousands of people: agents, prosecutors, politicians, journalists; saw evidence and chose silence. Not one Pentagon Papers moment. Not one person willing to sacrifice their career to stop it.

That’s not structure. That’s collective moral failure.

You can explain why it happened without absolving anyone. The incentives were real. The cowardice was real too.

Zero morals.

They all chose themselves over those girls. Every single one of them.

Barb O's avatar

I dare say that most FBI agents are men. I also dare say that most straight men would do the same thing as the perps in the Epstein files if they could, and get away with it with impunity. God did a poor job when HE created men.

Johan's avatar

You’re right.

Men commit 90% of homicides, 98% of sexual violence, virtually all mass shootings and war crimes. The FBI agents who stayed silent? Men. Epstein’s clients? Men. Politicians who protected them? Men.

That’s not misandry. That’s pattern recognition.

The men who do this are protected by other men who benefit from the same structures. Every agent who stayed silent chose to protect the system.

Women participate: Maxwell, prosecutors. But within structures men built.

Why don’t other men stop them? They benefit from the same logic: power protects power.

Men are responsible for virtually all large-scale cruelty. The ones not perpetrating are often enabling.

Uncomfortable facts. Still facts.

Barb O's avatar

And it's so sad. I know there are decent men out there who wouldn't do this stuff. They are the exception and hard to find. Makes a thinking woman stay away from any real relationship with a man. Even if they want one.

Peter Meyer's avatar

Points well taken. And the current regime is a case study in extreme toxic masculinity, taking all that you said to a new level of ick, violence, and hate. While I agree with you, I'd plead with all to not go down this road too far at this moment in history. We need to stay primarily focused on defending our freedoms and taking down this regime- peacefully. We have to stay focused on getting all the files released so there can be accountability. Maxwell included.

Johan's avatar

Your HR experience is the Epstein case in miniature.

HR exists to protect the company, not you. DOJ exists to protect power, not victims. You kept records, didn’t matter. There was no institution willing to receive them and act.

Epstein victims reported. Police knew. FBI knew. Prosecutors knew. Every institution made the same calculation your HR did: protecting the accused costs less than exposing the system.

You could have sued and probably lost. Even if you won, your supervisor moves to another job, HR operates the same way, next victim gets identical treatment.

The system didn’t fail you. It worked exactly as designed. That’s what the Epstein files prove at scale: twenty years of evidence, dozens of powerful men, hundreds of victims, and every institution chose the perpetrators.

Because that’s what institutions actually protect.

They are all complicit

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

What can you expect from men and maybe women that sexually abuse 14-17 y/o children?

Oaktown's avatar

It's not only possible, it's probable IMHO.

Are they going to sue the DOJ? They certainly should. This is just another reason to impeach Bondi. Reprehensible.

Joanna M's avatar

I agree. The victims deserve financial compensation and the government deserves to pay for their irresponsibility. It would be useful to have a calculator of all the money the government has to pay out due to executive branch crimes in case there's ever the opportunity to collect funds from seized assets of the criminals. (Wishful thinking, I know.)

Cindy's avatar

Absolutely!!

Barry Cusitar's avatar

I have heard that the reason the victims don't just go public with their information is due to the fact that they will be sued, for defamation, perhaps other things. Here is what they do - get together with a few lawyers, and a couple members of Congress (Massey, Ro Khanna) and set up a "Go Fund Me" account for their potential defence. It will raise Millions and Millions in No Time. Then they can come forward, publicly, with the names of these creeps. As Dina has stated they were purposely thrown to the wolves in this last release (Pam Bondi is the most despicable walking life form on the planet) and it is time to act in every way possible.

David Maceira's avatar

If they were sued, I would think it would force a discovery of evidence in the Epstein files.

Including the identities of ALL the monsters who abused and raped children.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

You have great confidence that a lawsuit would bring about the release of documents through discovery. In a normal world, that likely would be true. Remember the Epstein Transparency Act - a legislative enactment - a law - signed by the President? How has that worked out in terms of forcing the release of the most damning documents?

David Maceira's avatar

The DOJ might be in his pocket. An independent judge and a jury would not.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Might be? Is. The go-to independent arbiters are the Supreme Court nine, but only 3 qualify and 3 loses to 6 every time. The chances of a special prosecutor being appointed are nil. Look what Jack Smith's incredible efforts got for him. A special magistrate (or referee) could be appointed but it comes down to order non-compliance, a Trump (Cohn) specialty. If by "independent judge and jury" you meant something else, do enlighten me.

David Maceira's avatar

Don’t count your chickens.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Do you post drivel such as this simply because you can or does this demark the upper limit of your intellectual capacity?

Barry Cusitar's avatar

Exactly, that's why they need to just do it!

Francesca Cee's avatar

You don't get to decide what rape survivor should and shouldn't do. As a female survivor of sexual and physical abuse, this is not your place. Their lives are in danger.

Barry Cusitar's avatar

I am sorry to hear about your past Francesca. I'm not deciding anything - only a suggestion and in my opinion it is what the WILLING survivors need to do. Their lives have been endanger since they were raped by these monsters - the sick creeps (Trump, the worst) all know who they are, where they live, who their families are etc - they are no safer now than they were 20 - 30 years ago. By actually coming forward, in my opinion, they would actually be more safe, public support is huge and would be overwhelming for the perpetrators, they would have the support of most of the world behind them! How safe are they now after Bondi (on direction from Trump - the Orange Pig) purposely left many of their names unredacted for all to see. By doing nothing, the survivors are doing exactly what Trump wants them to do - go away.

Edith Brideau's avatar

As long as Trump is in power, the victims will never be safe in the United States. They will need to move to other countries that agree to provide havens for them, including new identifies.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Francesca, my heart goes out to you for what you endured. I do not pretend to understand, but from afar, I agree: this is their decision, and theirs alone

Kathy Hughes's avatar

Francesca, I too am sorry to hear what you endured. You are right, ultimately you are the only who can decide what is best for you.

Francesca Cee's avatar

Thank you so much!

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Aren't they entitled to rely on the DOJ to follow the law - the Epstein Transparency Act, without having to take actions that put themselves or others at risk of harm?

Barry Cusitar's avatar

Yes they are - and how safe are they now? Names purposely left unredacted to try and scare them enough to shut up. The sad fact is, the survivors were dealt an awful hand - the crimes have been committed on them and now, because of the sick bastards that committed those crimes and whom have no conscience, they are now being victimized again by these same POS and it will never end, they will never be safe and in my opinion there is only one way to go - full public disclosure, with the support of the world behind them - and mark my word, the world will support them, even though the Republican party would rather support pedophiles (while going to church on Sunday) than the victims! God Bless them all, my heart aches for each and every one of them.

Edith Brideau's avatar

I think the victims will no longer be safe in they live in the United States. They would only be safe if other countries (perhaps some that used to be our allies but have learned that it's not safe anymore) would agree to accept the survivors and their family members and provide new identities for them. Trump's government cannot be trusted to provide such a haven for them. He would sick his mob on them in a heartbeat.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

Somehow just clicking like does not justify my appreciation for your fine post.

Suing may be the last thing that worries them. What if their children's lives were threatened?

Teri Gelini's avatar

Right up there with drumpf...possibly an equally disgusting piece of human flesh..I would include the whole junk drawer cabinet and DHS along with ice Barbi

Edith Brideau's avatar

I would definitely contribute to that fundraising effort. But I think they are concerned about more than money. Trump would not hesitate to sic his goon squad on the survivors to keep them quiet. They will not be safe as long as they live in the United States unless they are put in some sort of witness protection program. But who in Trump's corrupt government would keep their new identities and locations secret? Talk about punishing the victim! Disgraceful.

Kate's avatar

Bondi is a DISGRACE TO WOMEN BY PROTECTING THE PERVERTS!!! FIRE HER IMMEDIATELY!!

Jeffrey Hickman's avatar

Of course it is deliberate intimidation

Jen's avatar

They purposely left victims’ information unredacted to punish them for demanding justice and to discourage victims of sexual abuse from coming forward in the future

Mfly14's avatar

Yes, I believe that too.

Kelvin Hobbs's avatar

As a warning shot across their bow about what else could and would follow. The Survivors understand this in silence, as they have no choice. Who in their families would be safe?

Mike Booth's avatar

Always do! These sick elites need to be taken out.

Trump as much as admitted guilt for himself and all the men they redacted. If there are women who were in on this, victims let us know. Either way, he said if they were unredacted, "it would hurt a lot of people." I have two reactions to that: 1. So he knows what was going on because an investigation that hurts them means there's something to be found AND HE KNOWS WHAT WILL BE FOUND. Time these rich fks get their due justice. 2. Soooo, he does care when something hurts a lot of people. Problem is, it's only when it's his rich donors and bribers are getting hurt and not when millions of average Americans. At this point, he'd better not pardon anyone else, rein in ice completely, and just shut up before he finds himself in hot tar with feathers pouring down on top of him. He has done pissed a lot of people off, including a nice chunk of his cultists. Not all of them and not even most of them, but enough. And, baby, those of us who hate him way outnumber those that think his diaper covered butt smells like roses.

🇨🇦 This is my opinion and my opinion alone, on this terrible situation. I think it's time for all the victims to go to Washington, D.C., walk into the Capitol Stand on the House and then the Senate floor. Tell their stories of what happened and name names publicly so that the world can see these pedophiles squirm and try to hide themselves under their desks. This is the only way that I can see the victims getting themselves heard and also getting justice for what has happened to them. Maybe then they'll be believed and those pedophiles will be receiving subpoenas to show up in court. Even good old Don OLD. I know that he's a sitting pres., but so was Clinton and he went before the Senate with the; 'Monica Lewinsky' case. So there is nothing stopping Congress of the judicial system to get his ass into court.

Paula's avatar

I agree. And wouldn’t it be awesome if we organized so that thousands of people marched with them?

Jeanne Hodgson's avatar

The more support the victims receive, the more will come out of hiding to tell their stories and name names.

Edith Brideau's avatar

I agree that they should do this, but only on the condition that another country has agreed to house them and provide new identifies for them and their families. Trump's regime would certainly want them killed.

Jeanne Hodgson's avatar

Edith my friend, I'm sure that there will be many who will protect the victims. It's the molesters that I'm concerned about. They're getting away with their crimes and not be accountable.

paulahik's avatar

Sue bondi personally. Sue trump personally. Sue the DOJ and ask lawyers if it will come out of the DOJ budget when they lose. Sue all those who did the redacting. They knew better and should have let themselves get fired rather than do something illegal for the DOJ. They could sue, too, if that happens. Sue them all. Trump loves a lawsuit. Let's see what happens when he is engulfed in them.

Sharon M. Morrison's avatar

". . . this could be the single most egregious violation of victim privacy in one day in United States history." And yet there were NO slip ups when it came to the names of the abusers. They were very carefully hidden from view, save for Andrew Mountbatten, who was thrown under the bus. Taken together with the warning a number of victims said that they were given--that if they told of the pedophilia, they and/or their families would be killed--it is particularly horrendous.

Carol's avatar

Of course it was a deliberate attempt to intimidate and re-traumatize the victims! These are the same people who think it’s fine to shoot an unarmed person in the face!
