Trump isn't smart enough to use AI to create anything other than chaos. Who's doing the behind-the-scenes construction?

Roger, exactly! There is no way he is smart enough or tech savvy enough to be able to produce any of these AI photos or videos. One of his minions is doing it. Or maybe Barron?

Not hard to figure out who is orchestrating all this. Yeah, Trump is not smart enough to do any of this yet we keep saying "Trump this or Trump" that. The Trump "fluffers" (look it up) are the whisperers; the origins (oh wait, oranges, lol ).

I've repeatedly suggested that Trump is a "useful idiot" who can be counted on to go off in some ridiculous direction if given a suggestion, any suggestion, no matter how idiotic. We see the results every day. The critical question is who's behind the curtain. Certainly Miller and Vought, although I suspect Miller is the instigator. It would be helpful to know whether there's someone else pulling the strings (besides Putin).

I love Meidas Touch and trust them. But I have to admit it really makes me angry when I read about the things you did that helped Trump get where he is. I realize that you've changed and that some of this is about restitution. But honestly - if more of the people around him years ago had had a moral compass when he was coming into power, I don't think we'd be where we are now.

I think Michael was reflecting on the times....Reagan started the change to "Me first". The culture of "Greed is Good" grew. It was common for "celebrities" to manipulate public opinion via the media outlets available then, like Michael described.

Remember - those were the days of "Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n Roll".

AI: "The iconic quote is actually "Greed, for lack of a better word, is good" from the 1987 film Wall Street, spoken by the ruthless corporate raider Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas). Gekko argues that greed is a positive force that drives success, a concept that has since become a famous, and often debated, movie line."

AI: "Don't throw rocks at glass houses" means that people should not criticize others for having faults or weaknesses that they themselves possess. The phrase, a shortened version of the proverb "Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones," warns that if you attack someone for their imperfections, you are vulnerable to having your own imperfections exposed and criticized in return, much like throwing a rock at a glass house would shatter your own home.

In essence, the phrase advises against hypocrisy and encourages self-awareness. Before pointing out flaws in others, one should first examine their own, lest they invite similar criticism. "

I learned over time that criticism of others was actually myself mirroring my own weaknesses or imperfections back to myself. That realization was eye opening.

Tariffs R Taxes's avatar

Turning American farmers into welfare queens to buy their votes in the face of worldwide reactions to his tariffs? Priceless...

Expand full comment
Roberta Houle's avatar

Unfortunately the farmers are experiencing what the implications are when you vote for a sexual predator and rapist, a felon, a racist and a bigot, a misogynistic narcissistic liar who bankrupts on a regular basis and refuses to pay contractors, one who has absolutely no moral attributes. Apparently none of those things mattered then. Do they now? Will they vote for him again because he promises all sorts of $$ assistance?

Tariffs R Taxes's avatar

As business folk farmers are smart enough to know what is sustainable. They may have to take these proposed handouts for survival or greed, but they clearly understand that tariffs have tanked their foreign markets and that is not sustainable for their futures.

Expand full comment
Roberta Houle's avatar

Bob. Good points. Yes, farmers are generally good business people. As someone who grew up on a farm in small town Saskatchewan, Canada, I think I have a pretty good idea. Farming is a business that depends on so many variables to be sustainable. I was so very disappointed when I learned that farmers voted for trump in droves. It seemed all morality was lost to the promises they were given of wealth, or whatever the hell it was.

They don’t really have a choice right now but to take handouts from the morally bankrupt dictator. Their income for their year of hard work is gone. Crops and their harvests are just sitting there, such an incredible waste.

So what will happen in 2026? How stressful would that be to deal with now as well?

As jim jones, david koresh, charles manson and trump have all known, you can convince some people of anything. But those deadly demons didn't have AI, until trump 2.0. AI is the double edged sword that enlightens and frightens. In the right hands it is a tool for great things to come, but in the hands of mad men, crooks, thieves, criminals and cons, it will burn a brain to a crisp without shedding a tear. There is a very large portion of the population whose brains are being cooked by trump and his malevolent cronies. When it comes to believing in AI, trump and republicans, caution is advised.
