True - but do you notice how much time mainstream British (Murdoch owned?) media and even the BBC devotes to Reform and Nigel Farage (with 4 MPs) whilst a centrist like Ed Davey (Lib Dems 72 MPs) and who is more often than not speaking in Parliament and at PM's question time, hardly breaks through? Hard to know how much is deliberate and how much is just down to the impact of our attention economy: Farage, like Trump, generates adulation and outrage in equal measure i.e. clickbait. My sense is it's more of the latter. We do need to be aware of the dangers - as you say, this isn't happening to the same extent in the UK - yet! I recommend a good ad blocker for YouTube on computers. On phones - especially on shorts- hit the three dots in the upper corner and choose "don't show this channel again".
I've also been reporting all the ads I can. Anything scammy for spam, anything right wing, for hate speech bullying or harassment. Does reporting do anything? Probably not, but I am spamming them back in return and it's cathartic.
Yeah I keep getting an attacking my Congressman for voting no on the big ugly bill and keep seeing it. And sick of seeing it when I just want to watch something to stay informed.

Did you read the part where Paul called them imposters? He told us to expect imposters in the church in the last days who are lovers of money, who deviate from sound doctrine. Just checking my current YouTube feed and notice that, excluding subscribed channels (Meidas, of course, Legal AF, Adam Mockler, Katie Phang, JoJofromJerz, I've Had It, Brian Tyler Cohen, Jessica Denson), music, movies, and science-based channels, my political choices are: This is Gavin Newsom, Glenn Kirschner, Heather Cox Richardson, Sen. Adam Schiff, The Daily Beast, Times Radio, Democracy Now!, Hysteria, Times Now World etc., as well as assorted news channels & UK political channels. Not a single right-wing piece of trash!
It's not entirely by chance - I very carefully remove crap from my feed, and block weird channels without viewing them, so as far as can see, it is possible to nudge the algorithm into only showing relevant channels. Not so sure if that is possible under the fascist regime of the Republic of Gilead, um, the USA. I'm moving away from Facebook, as it is so full of Meta crap - will have to try Bluesky...
The only problem is that my relatives in Germany, and friends in South Africa are not, as mt my few elderly friends. Oh well, I'll see if I can encourage them to move too...
