I totally agree with you, Cheryl. I can't help but add this to what you've stated: I've never been ashamed of being an American like I am now. I was during Dump's first term, was relieved to a degree for four years when Biden was in office (even though the republiCRAPS still controlled everything), and now I'm more ashamed than ever. I sure hope we can get back to at least being somewhat "normal" some day.

Everyone at the dinner was very lucky. However, with all of the mass shootings that succeed and traumatize people for the rest of their lives, this is a blip. Rather than focusing on gun violence, they're focusing on security? How about schools, bars, concert venues, churches and other religious institutions, and on and on and on!

Thank you for this!! As a former school employee, we have had to practice active shooter /lock down drills all the time. Maybe there will be some reconcilation for those inside the ballroom for the students in schools underneath their desks throughout the country!
