That’s basically EXACTLY what Hasan Piker said.

Every dollar spend on a bomb is a dollar not going to your healthcare or child’s education.

Joe Plenzler's avatar

That is precisely correct. Look at how China invests in their infrastructure compared to the US. And the DOD want's $1.5T for defense in next year's budget? Insane.

Brian Russ's avatar

It’s important to remember that the DOD has never once passed an audit. We have no idea where that money is going. It is a cesspool of corruption. That can’t properly house feed or pay our soldiers, sailors, and marines.

China is going to end up ruling the world if we are not careful

How much opium did American businesses gather in Afghanistan.

But they don’t care about Americans not even their base

Dismantle, publisize the 2025 Doctrine.

Roger Loeb's avatar

Probably too late. Much of it is already embedded in U.S. policy and it will be nearly impossible to reverse without a significant regime change. "Significant" means almost no Republicans in Congress. Not likely...

Diana Chapman's avatar

I think we actually could see that as the red states are waking up

Diana Chapman's avatar

I do believe we can undo. Sadly the corporate Dems have done a bad job of defending us

Thank you both for a very important and useful show!

The far more important war is behind the scenes. It's the war for the de facto international currency, and we're losing the position we've held for decades. My colleagues in Switzerland, who handle investments for "high rollers," are gradually moving investments made in U.S. dollars into investments made in Chinese Yen because the U.S. can no longer be trusted. If international trade abandons the dollar, the interest on our accumulated national debt will destroy the country. Yes, the oligarchs will survive, but the rest of us will starve to death. Sometime before we reach that point, some form of revolution is likely. We are no match for our own military, so the revolution will take some other form, probably following the Ukraine and utilizing drones to attack from a distance. Canada is increasingly looking like a very pleasant refuge, but will probably be drawn into the chaos.

Gloria J. Maloney's avatar

Will our armed forces fire on our own citizens?

Roger Loeb's avatar

Good question! With an idiot like Hegseth in charge, possibly. A lot would depend upon how the "revolution" is described in the press and on TV. In the current confusion, if the citizens were called "antifa," quite possibly. If an organization such as the Proud Boys was recruited to make the initial forays, the possibility goes way up.

We are all that now

Why no media coverage of US continuing support of Israel’s genocide in Gaza?

Bloody-knee billionaire Larry Ellison has taken a wrecking ball to one of our pillars of democracy, FREEDOM Of PRESS.

Diana Chapman's avatar

Also it seems even Democrats are voting to entwine our military with Israel’s. We needs to scream at the 100 plus dems that voted to move this forward. I’m so discouraged that our Dems would support genocide. Because that’s how I see this move.

The basic problem is that the Hegseth/Trump foreign policy lacks any real form of diplomacy. They fired all of the knowledgeable diplomats. Imho, it is a deplorable foreign policy based upon the inappropriate use of our military and very expensive bombs. This Trumpian administration that LIKES war; Trump even outed Hegseth as a war monger.

The Iranians are watching our oil market. They know what's going on. Our reserves are going to be depleted very shown and starting the end of next week we may start hearing about some changes we will hear about.

Linelle Stepto's avatar

I am sceptical of your claims about Iran murdering copius numbers of its own population....doesn't concur with news we get here, & opinions of Iranian friends.....I fear there is a lot of insidious propaganda in america........you should look at the sheer numbers of people killed in America's wars, by America, since WW2, let alone by your "greatest ally' Israel.

Joe Plenzler's avatar

It seems you are arguing one is better than the other, and what we are saying is that both are bad.

Independent human rights organizations have firmly verified over 7,000 protester deaths (including over 200 minors) from the Iranian state crackdown, though the peak of the violence occurred during the winter of 2025–2026 just prior to the outbreak of the current regional war in February. However, leaked internal IRGC documents and civilian hospital records suggest a far more devastating toll, indicating that between 30,000 and 36,500 people may have been killed, driven largely by a brutal 48-hour massacre in early January. In stark contrast, the official Iranian government narrative heavily downplays the bloodshed, acknowledging only 3,117 deaths while classifying the civilian victims as terrorists and rioters.

Linelle Stepto's avatar

yes I agree both sides (or all 3 sides) are bad.........I cannot comment on your numbers as I have no way to verify. Mossad seems to control much of the information coming out of Iran & I certainly don't trust them!. Iranian friends at uni say it's a modern place, the claims of religious police are greatly exaggerated & apply among very religious conservative families & groups.....their main criticism of their home country is of the wealth gap & treatment of poor people in Iran. I don't think we in the west have any right to make value judgements about their government, especially as our own are not that good!

Jennifer Akdemir's avatar

I don't think that either China or Iran pose anything like the threat to the world that the U.S. does. They don't play by your rules (or the lack of them).

Joe Plenzler's avatar

I can’t remember the last time China invaded another country and tried to overthrow their government.

Jennifer Akdemir's avatar

They have done - Tibet, and you could argue the Uygur territory, too. But the scale is tiny when set against the American Empire. It still doesn’t make it ok, of course, but how come everything is ok when White people do it?

The United States has become a second rate country.

I wish we could bring back to life Washington, Jefferson, Adams and all of the founders who showed the courage to start a revolution which defied a King and enabled our citizens to build the greatest country in the world. Their actions resulted the creation of the Constitution and three branches of government. We had a smooth running government which survived a civil war as well as two world wars.

In 2025 this all started to change when Donald Trump, a malignant narcissist, became President. On February 28th of this year Trump personally made the impulsive and destructive decision to start an unnecessary war with Iran without the required consent of Congress. Some members of Congress have formed a caldron which is subservient to the Executive branch led by a traitorous President. These members are so compromised that they are disregarding the Constitution's requirement to approve this war as well as the funds to sustain it . This inaction has prolonged the war in Iran with its economic and security consequences to Americans with no end in sight. Trump will have to compromise to end this war. We are suffering now and when the war ends we will be in worse shape as a nation than we were before the war.

Joe Plenzler's avatar

Yes. We are in a massive mess and desperately need good people in Congress and in the WH.
