Expand full comment
Janice Mac's avatar

From what I have read it is not that easy to revoke someone's Canadian citizenship. That being said before the government could move to do this, they would need to introduce legislation and there would have to be amendments to the current Citizenship Act. That means the Canadian government needs to get off their ass and do it immediately. He is a threat to our country just like he is to the U.S. and there is nothing stopping him from coming for us next because Trump has made it very clear we should be the 51 state. We also need to make sure the government is working diligently to reinforce security for our upcoming elections. Pierre Poilievre parrots many things that Trump spews and he does not hold our Canadian values and is not fit to be the next PM. We need to make sure he does not get into power or we will be the 51st state.

We are likely unable to actually do it. It is more symbolic and letting our government know we want them to defy Musk. The legal wrangling to actually revoke the passport may be impossible to prove. What is more possible is the 100% tariff on Teslas. Sales have been huge since 2020, but have dropped 70% late 2024 (due to the ev vehicle rebate cancellation). Teslas themselves have become far less popular due to Musk. Their prices increased at the beginning of the year so a tariff could be the death knell (awwww)

Expand full comment
Jane in NC's avatar

Whether the actual citizenship revocation can be accomplished or not, it's still important to make your voices heard on Musk. I suspect your government will be more responsive than ours is likely to be. The 100% tariffs on Teslas is great idea. Much of Musk's wealth is based on how well Tesla does.

Trudeau was not perfect as a leader over the last decade- but at least he tried to make decisions and policies to provide for Canadians: some were ok ideas, some were not helpful at all. Canada is not celebrating Nazis and dismantling our government out of spite and retribution. Those are American made problems that are infecting the rest of the world.

This is an overgeneralization. Many early pilgrims paid the native people for their land in order to farm it; they did not intend to kill native people by transmitting disease to which they had more immunity.

Expand full comment

Disease certainly killed many, but the settlers brutally attacked and lied to the native people as well. Treaties that bought land were usually under duress/coercion and no better than stealing.

You dare to talk about "overgeneralization"? The irony is so strong, that even you should be able to detect it. But ok, that answers the question if you have shame. You obviously have none. "early pilgrims"? The real ethnic cleansing started much much later, as every school kid knows. What a pathetic attempt to play stupid. This dishonesty is staggering!

“[They] deserve to be exterminated as savage and pernicious beasts.” – Chief Justice John Catron, Tennessee Supreme Court, 1835

Expand full comment

1835 was two hundred and fifteen years after the Mayflower arrived in Massachusetts. 1630 was the year that the Great Migration happened in Massachusetts with Pilgrims travelling to Connecticut and New York. An early Pilgrim named Richard Saltonstall bought some land from the Pequot along the Connecticut river. Some of this land was settled by farmers and carpenters. How repulsive that you/we can no longer depend on the FBI. How sickening y’all have to take matters into your own hands to protect. Shows what was said all along about Dump & his control. Telling truth &being #1 is no longer allowed under this deplorable.

Please stay safe & telling truth to power. Pro democracy is moving forward

Stay on the top because we are pushing & passing truth with every post.

Mad respect, appreciation, and admiration for the work you do at Meidas Touch. The people that scream about "Freedom of Speech", apparently believe it only applies to them. Yes, please, stay safe and much love💖
