The jet fiasco brings this interaction to mind:

Antony to Caesar: there is not enough money in the world to buy the honor of a single Roman Senator.

Caesar in Reply: maybe so, but there is more than enough it seems, to buy his vote.

The considerable delays in bringing forth a "new" AF1 have to do with the same issues I've heard describing the problems with Air Traffic Control: struggling to update cutting-edge 1980s technology, in the case of ATC towers, mid-90s for AF1. The plane requires protected telemetry for immediate impenetrable communications by the president to anybody he needs to speak to, requires the ability to be refilled in the air so that it can stay aloft for days at a time, needs to be radiation shielded & needs to have the armor to at least moderately defend itself even if there are f-14s accompanying it. Not quite sure how much of that is going to be in place on the flying golden toilet that Qatar is going to give him, & when, if the ones that we have in place in the US NOW haven't been able to get brought up to date so far.

Trump spends a lot of time pissing on the shoes of Americans while attempting to tell us it’s raining. His latest new word “equalize” which he probably discovered after channel surfing Sunday night TV and eyeing an episode of the Equalizer. It’s as if the word never existed to him. China ”pantsed” him again on tariffs so his latest attempt to distract Americans is to claim he will bring the Pharma industry to heel on drug prices so more fun ahead from the largest team of incompetents the likes that America has never seen before.

"Why do we ridicule Biden as too old, then ignore Trump's decline? A media expert explains."

The Washington press corps saw Joe Biden’s aging, but it doesn’t seem to notice Donald Trump’s. Why? It’s pretty simple, really. Trump acts like a big, tough man. He spends a lot of his time demonstrating his big, tough manhood. Biden never did that. It’s not in his nature. Guess which personality type gets more positive attention from reporters?

So even if Trump lies and lies and lies, even if he inexplicably sways and bops to music for minutes on end, even if he descends into outright gibberish, and even if he demands that you and everyone you know accept as gospel truth his maniacal delusions — even if he does all these things that old men with dementia often do, he’ll never be called old.

Because he looks big and tough.

Fact is, he’s weak. He’s always been weak. And his weakness is always on display, if you’re paying attention, even as he daily demonstrates his so-called dominance. Indeed, there is no other way of putting it honestly.

When you do a thing that triggers a reaction, then pull back that thing as a consequence of that reaction, that’s textbook weakness. That’s what he’s been doing with tariffs since he took office. On again, off again, no consistency, no logic, utter chaos – because he’s weak. (Continued)

trump doesn't look big and tough. He's always looked small and weak. Using all caps? A sign of someone that's very insecure. Word salad. Someone that's losing their faculties. A person that brags about raping a woman, walking in on teenagers while undressed because he can? Grabbing their pussies because he thinks he's a star? That's not a man who's big & tough. On the contrary. Anyone that thinks that shows strength needs their head examined. Looking back on trump's history, not renting to black people, having black people removed from the floor of the casino as to not upset the white folk. Talking out a full page ad on the Central Park 5 calling for the death penalty on teens. Innocent kids that were coerced in confessions at first, then said they didn't have anything to do with what they were accused of. They were black. Of course trump didn't care. He's never apologized. He's never apologized for the whole birther movement he created with Obama. He's never apologized to Hillary Clinton. If anyone needs locked up, it's that weak, pathetic excuse for a man.

Expand full comment
Judy Cross's avatar

You are so right. Any ideas how we can accomplish the locking up bit?

Judy Cross's avatar

I don't think he looks big and tough. To me, he looks weak and frail. He walks stooped over, much of the time and even looks like he has trouble walking. And, of course, the jibberish that comes out of his mouth, adds to his feebleness. He's a weak blood sucking poor excuse for a human being.

It makes me so angry that people who don't understand stuttering can make the assumption that the person is mentally weak & inept. Cheeto’s Trade Game

Free trade benefits the consumer but when business colludes with government the result is protectionism where the consumer loses due to necessary inflation that comes with such policy Tariffs are a form of protectionistic policy which are contrived out of a paranoia that the Orange Cheeto has fabricated This developed fantasy that the strongman has created now gives him the reason to slap tariffs on other countries that are “ripping us(US) off”

But it’s just a fantasy, a game Cheeto is playing with the American electorate The unfair advantage that Der Fuhrer claims is of America’s own doing Even if manufacturing could be brought back to the US….and that’s a big if…..with all the cost constraints such as labor, regulationary hurdles, and property costs production would still be feasible in the US But instead of businesses working to create a manufacturing base they have lobbied the Cheeto for a protectionisitc policy ie tariffs And even if businesses tried to manufacture they have been out of the loop for so long that they would produce an inferior product that would not sell on the global market

Cheeto’s upside is that he creates a middle class tax to an already financially strained economic group so he can fund his tax cuts for the uberwealthy donors, all the while cultivating a plutocracy which can remain in power forever Meanwhile Der Fuhrer destroys the democratic republic

So, fine, let 'ol fat ass use it as Air Force One WHILE HE IS IN OFFICE, and then it will be passed to the next (a real) President.

But the plane SHOULD NOT transfer to his presidential library after this godawful term is up. It isn't his personal property. And that idea is pure BS.

"Your tax dollars are being wasted on Trump's bogus deportation flights."

The American taxpayers have paid out at least $21 million to transport migrants to the U.S. military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, between Jan. 20 (Donald Trump’s first day in office) and April 8. The information on the project, initiated by Trump, was released to Congress by U.S. Transportation Command, known asTRANSCOM.

Currently there are 32 migrants being held at the facility, notorious as a detention site for suspected members of the al-Qaida terrorist network, and the Taliban extremists of Afghanistan. The facility has held under 500 prisoners in total and never more than a maximum of 200. (Continued)

"GOP candidate, in ruby red state, backtracks from Trump, amid panic of Dem victory."

A mayoral race in Nebraska's "blue dot" could be a test of voter dissatisfaction with Donald Trump's second presidency — and a bellwether for next year's midterm elections.

Democrats in the liberal enclave in a conservative state are hoping to unseat Omaha's three-term Republican mayor, Jean Stothert, in a technically nonpartisan election. But anger over Trump's agenda has fueled closer-than-expected results in special elections for GOP-held seats in Florida and a decisive victory for Democrats in Wisconsin's Supreme Court race, reported the Washington Post. '"Endangered': Justice John Roberts takes apparent swing at Trump."

Chief Justice John Roberts took an apparent swing at Donald Trump Monday, as he warned that America's justice system was "endangered" — and took particular aim at attacks on judges.

Though Trump wasn't named by the justice, he has openly targeted judges in the multiple criminal and civil cases he has faced, as well as judges ruling on parts of his agenda. Some of this attacks have contributed to death threats.

Roberts, an extremely conservative justice, was speaking to Georgetown Law students Monday, according to Politico.

He made clear the public perception of the judiciary is not always as “toxic” as it may seem.

“We have to work together on these things that are difficult. You find a way to get along,” Roberts said. “It’s a long job. If you’re sort of really at each other’s throats with bad feelings and stuff like that, it just — it’s not a good way to function. … We do have to address some very, very difficult things, and we’re the only people who are doing it.” (Continued)

"Church lands in crosshairs of MAGA tantrum, after defying Trump."

The Episcopal Church landed into the crosshairs of a MAGA tantrum, after it scrapped a long-standing agreement with the government, over a controversial Trump policy.

The church’s decision came after 49 white South Africans arrived in the U.S. as refugees, part of a ruling from President Donald Trump who accused their nation’s government of discriminating against whites.

The church declared that it would refuse to help resettle them, following criticism that white Afrikaners were being allowed to leapfrog a system in which thousands of people were stuck in dangerous circumstances for years.

It defies a longstanding partnership with the government to help newly arrived refugees.

The church came under immediate attack. (Continued)

Trump signed an executive order banning refugees on Day 1, but now he’s created what is basically an affirmative action program for white South Africans, opening U.S. doors for them and only them. Now, the ostensibly oppressed Afrikaners have landed in Washington, D.C., a mere three months after Trump decided that they’re the most persecuted people on Earth. (Continued)

"Republicans Blast Donald Trump for Accepting Qatari Jet."

A growing number of prominent Republicans are publicly criticizing Donald Trump, following reports that he accepted a $400 million luxury jet from the government of Qatar. "Reality TV producer laughs off Trump threat, as merely the act of a 'shunned' man."

From the beloved children’s show “Bluey” to the blockbuster “Harry Potter” films, directors and producers have warned that President Donald Trump’s proposed 100 percent tariff on movies made in “foreign lands” would damage the U.S. entertainment industry’s ability to produce hit shows.

But Lamont Pete, a veteran reality TV producer, told Raw Story “nobody should really pay this much mind,” because Trump’s May 4 Truth Social post isn’t grounded in “reality.”

“When he came out and said this I don't think he really thought it through, but surprise, surprise, that would not be the first,” Pete said.

“Honestly, I think nobody should really pay this much mind … that’s the most ridiculous s-–t I’ve ever heard.” (Continued)

"Why Qatar is bribing Trump."

(Popular Info, Judd Legum

May 13, 2025)

On Sunday, Trump announced that the government of Qatar would be giving the "Defense Department" a luxury 747 aircraft to replace Air Force One. Critics of the deal, Trump said, were "World Class Losers."

ABC News and other media outlets added a crucial detail. After Trump leaves office, the 747 gifted by Qatar would be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library. Of course, presidential libraries do not ride on luxury airplanes. This is a gift, valued at least $400 million, from a foreign government to Trump himself. (Qatar says the details of the transfer are still being finalized and "no decisions have been made.") (Continued)

"Donald Trump is a gangster."

(Steve Schmidt,

The images of Donald Trump’s arrival in Saudi Arabia are disgraceful and without precedent. What the American people are witnessing is an ‘Eras’ tour of corruption and crony capitalism that beggars belief and description, while being broadcast in the plain light of day.

It is a death march and a celebration of decay, collapse, and the shattering of free market capitalism, in favor of a new Trump gangsterism that picks winners and losers. (Continued)

Donald Trump idiotically says he is a greater president than both George Washington & Abraham Lincoln. Donald Trump needs to read a book called "How to Be President" because Abraham Lincoln was gifted a pair of elephant tusks from a foreign country. Abraham Lincoln properly went before Congress with his two elephant tusks and asked for permission to hang onto the prized pieces of ivory as a keepsake. Congress said, "No," and Abraham Lincoln surrendered the elephant tusks. What we have in the White House today is a kid who knows nothing about the United States of America. How, oh how, did he get in?

"Trump's treason has just one thing blocking its path — and it's taking a battering."

On Wednesday, Chief Justice John Roberts, in a not-so-veiled swipe at Donald Trump, stressed that the U.S. Constitution’s “main innovation” was the creation of an independent judiciary.

Our constitutional system of government only works, he emphasized, if power shared between the three branches of federal government remains equal and balanced, and it is up to the courts, not Trump, to decide what makes it so.

Roberts’ remarks followed the Trump regime’s astonishing flurry of attacks against the judiciary. On April 25, Attorney General Pam Bondi called judges who refused to legitimize Trump’s power grabs “deranged,” then, with characteristic bombast, warned the judiciary, “we will come after you and we will prosecute you.”

That same day, Kash Patel had a Wisconsin judge perp-walked out of the courthouse in handcuffs, because she allowed a defendant to exit from a side door to the main hall where everyone else, including the FBI, was waiting.

Three days later, White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, intimated that Trump could have Supreme Court justices arrested. (Continued)

"We’re Not Living in Normal Times."

(Aaron Parnas,

Over the past four months, the Trump administration has overwhelmed the public with a relentless stream of information—far more than anyone can realistically process.

As an independent journalist, I’ve struggled to cut through the noise to bring you accurate, timely updates. Then I came across a video of Steve Bannon, Trump’s former senior advisor, explaining his “flood the zone with sh*t” strategy. Suddenly, everything made sense.

This isn’t accidental. It’s a deliberate tactic. (Continued)

I think it’s important to note why they are saying it will go to the Presidential Library. The Presidential Records Act says that gifts are, generally, to be handled by the Gift Unit of the National Archives when the President leaves office. They then either donate them to charity, transfer them to NARA for the Presidential Library or, in the case of foreign gifts, have the President pay market value and retain it. So, if it goes to the Presidential Library it would be decommissioned like the one at Reagan’s library. If he wants to use it he’d have to buy it.

Also, I read that Qatar has stated it’s not a gift, but a temporary loan. Which seems almost worse than a gift from a security standpoint.

I am truly wondering if the Department of Defense will actually provide the Qatar plane for Trump to fly in as president. They have to have written standards for the president's security.

Will they solve the security by flying a LOT of planes as 'cover' for AF1?

Trump really wants the plane, especially now that he has made such an outright claim to his brilliance in accepting the bribe. I mean, it is 'fit for a king', which Trump really likes. It is over the top gaudy, it is HIS plane... He is going to be like an entitled brat and throw a tantrum until he gets to fly in it. And yet, the DoD has laws and regulations to abide by, and they still have two very functional planes to use as AF1. I suspect whoever is serving as DoD Secretary will, as a sign of loyalty and deference to Trump, give him what he wants, and of course will be giving a similar gift to Qatar (whose bribe will be repaid by Trump in services rendered, one-upmanship, possible intel from espionage 'bugs' in the plane and of course a great gift to anyone looking to assassinate Trump in a plane with no special 'security features'.

While Air Force 1 is based on a Boeing 747, it is ever so much more than that, for a reason. the maintenance costs are because it is the President's plane during emergencies, up to and including nuclear war. This is why there are two of them, so one can always be ready.

Trump is either ignorant or stupid or just plain does not care about any such possibilities, and is negligent in ensuring he would be able to fulfill his role in case of an emergency.

Mind you, I think his value in such an emergency would be negative, hugely negative. I think the lack of defensive measures provides opportunities for assasination attempts to be succesful... Sure Donald, you do you. Go for it, what a deal, you are so brilliant...

Yes, Trump considers anyone who does not take a bribe as a "loser".

Trump also considers anyone who pays his bills to be a loser, and anyone who sacrifices himself for others to be a loser, or to live a life of service (another form of sacrifice) to be a loser. Anyone who keeps his word, or honors a deal when it no longer benefits them is a "Loser" in Trump's world.

The nation of Qatar has been found to be the main funder of Hamas. With that in mind, and knowing the vehicle he’s using to threaten and dismantle universities being “ antisemitism “, how can that nation not be considered the same?? He’s gone so far to issue an EO, and pushing it to be come law, that the US companies and citizens cannot boycott Israel or support boycotting countries that do, lest they be found guilty of antisemitism themselves.

On that basis alone, I’d have to suggest that Hamas is about as antisemitic as it gets. So supporters and backers of the acclaimed “ terror organization “ are equally antisemetic.

Doesn’t that legally put Trump at odds with his own antisemitism policies- making business deals and accepting gifts from the government supporting antisemitic behavior??

He’s can’t have it both ways. If universities are allegedly allowing and encouraging it on campus, and being threatened with their tax free status, accreditation and government funding , how can he go legally unchallenged, doing it overtly and on a far grander scale??

I saw someone raise a question about the possibility of a suit being filed in court stating violation of the emoluments clause, but likely being denied by SCOTUS based on who’s the victim? Who would file?

Why not any representative or citizen of Jewish descent? Who are the alleged victims on the university campuses? Let them file ( with outside backing as needed).

"The Infomercial Presidency Hits Riyadh."

Trump’s presidency isn’t about policy; it’s a pay-per-view hustle where the American people lose, and the Trump Org cashes in—one crooked deal at a time.

(MeidasTouch Network and Michael Cohen,

Let me take you back to something Donald Trump said—bragged about—when we first kicked off the 2016 election cycle. “This is going to be the greatest infomercial in the history of U.S. politics,” he boasted, flashing that smug Cheshire grin to a room of sycophants—myself included. At the time, I thought it was classic Trump hyperbole: loud, crude, attention-grabbing. But I was wrong. He wasn’t kidding. It wasn’t a metaphor. He meant it.

And now, nearly a decade later, we’re living through the sequel to The Apprentice: The Presidency Edition, except this time, the cost isn’t just measured in dollars, but in national integrity, global credibility, and American livelihoods. (Continued)

Posters in this forum are always well informed!

In addition to MASS ANTI-TRUMP PROTESTS, I would encourage everyone to get involved in sending emails & letters especially to the BRAIN DEAD MAGA GOP. Their great accomplishment this week was to pass legislation renaming the GULF OF MEXICO! Families struggling to feed kids surely had that on their priority list! (sarcasm intended)

There are numerous ways you can SPEAK OUT...and they're growing!

We don't have to depend on others to voice our opinions.

If we join together, our voices are magnified.

THE JUGGERNAUT PROJECT offers Action Protests:

https://juggernautproject.com/

CIVIC SHOUT offers SINGLE CLICK PETITIONS to voice your opinions:

https://civicshout.com/

SCOTT DWORKIN offers a substack post that's always worth reading & has formed THE WATCHDOG COALITION that send letters & calls.

For all contact Congress links, or to volunteer, you can go here: https://actionnetwork.org/forms/sign-up-for-the-watchdog-coalition

CONSUMER REPORTS offered a petition to protest the elimination of the CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION.

Numerous environmental groups have offered petitions to protest Trump's ANTI-ENVIRONMENTAL actions, including selling PUBLIC LANDS to DIRTY ENERGY.

There are organizations protesting SOCIAL SECURITY CUTS, MEDICAID CUTS, USPS PRIVATIZATION, PROTECTING PBS & NPR and anything else you can think of...

JOIN WITH OTHERS & MAKE MAGA GOP know that they are threatened with RETIREMENT!

MAGA CHRISTOFASCISTS are wild about POPE LEO - how dare he criticize them?

DEMENTIA DON caves to CHINA after his TARIFF LUNACY...not a single BRAIN DEAD LACKEY spoke up to prevent EMPTY SHELVES, WEST COAST PORTS' declines, unemployed dock worker, unemployed truckers, reduced rail traffic....INCREASED PRICES!

These are some of the HIDDEN COSTS from TRUMP'S TARIFF LUNACY - the list is not complete:

Oyster farmers brace for rising costs under Trump’s tariffs

Tariffs could drive up prices for internationally made oyster nets, cages, traps and other equipment.

Comment was made that the 400 million jet was likely really more like a billion or more. Note that Trump in his comments said he wouldn’t turn down a “billion dollar” jet “or 400 million whatever it was” - something to that effect.

Sir: You have conducted an incredible diversionary campaign against Trumps Hitler style regime but its time to realize there is only one method to get rid of him. If this does not happen all the campaigning in the world will be of little use.

"This single Trump order, is the one that should scare the hell out of you."

We are running out of time, folks, because as I am typing this, the groundwork is being laid by the most lawless, corrupt administration in United States history, to come after our right to due process, and incinerate the most elemental piece of a democracy: freedom.

That all this is being spearheaded by an America-attacking, convicted felon, is an incomprehensible and brutal paradox. (Continued)

'"The president and the putt': NYT shares 'simplistic' analogy that explains Trump."

Donald Trump gave the game away with a "simplistic" analogy, when pressed by reporters on why he is taking a $400 million luxury plane from the Qatari government, wrote Shawn McCreesh for The New York Times on Monday — a gift far above and beyond anything a president has accepted from a foreign nation in modern history, and that even has some of Trump's most ardent supporters complaining smells rotten.

Specifically, he said, Trump offered up a parable that might be called "the president and the putt." (Continued)

'"Disappointment': Head of Florida school quits, as Ron DeSantis crusade gathers speed."

University of West Florida President, Martha Saunders, will resign months ahead of the expiration of her contract on Dec. 31, she announced Monday morning. She has served as president since 2017.

The resignation came after Gov. Ron DeSantis made clear his intention to overhaul the Pensacola university, including controversial trustee appointments and criticisms of university research and student activities.

“In accordance with the terms of my contract, and after thoughtful reflection, I have made the decision to conclude my presidency,” Saunders wrote in a letter to the university community. “This was not an easy choice. I know it may come as a surprise, and for some, a disappointment. Please know I did not make it lightly. I believe this is the right time — for me and for UWF.”

DeSantis (and Board of Governors) appointees to the UWF Board of Trustees caused a stir this legislative session, with one rejected by the Senate and two others resigning before the Senate could vote on their confirmation.

DeSantis said last month there are “big changes” in store for UWF, while bragging about the political overhaul of New College of Florida. (Continued)
