I watched them march up the hill, drop to their knees and start shooting. They killed four innocent students and wounded many others, not to mention the shattered plate glass windows everywhere.

What makes things worse is that the current events are unfolding to an audience that has grown up with social media, where almost nothing is the way it seems, and nothing (or everything) seems important or urgent. How do we engage with a generation that has not read 1984 (SparkNotes maybe), that hasn't had major political or social calls for change, and so forth?

And the president appoints new judges and elevates judges to appeals courts, with the advice and consent of the Senate, which has backed him on some abysmal choices in other areas. The military can't get involved, constitutionally, and would be under the orders of the president. So right now, media, calls, e-mails, and peaceful protests are our tools. He just issued a statement that any protests against him on June 14 (we've never had this kind of military parade before) will be met with "very big force." Our founders didn't contemplate this kind of president, and our Democratic Party is hampered by lack of a strong, central, inspiring leader. So yeah, podcasts help with grassroots support that we try as hard as we can to make into something with force. We're working on it, trying very hard to act within the law to keep the action moving forward, although internationally, it doesn't look like it.

I'm sadden what has happened. I grew up in Los Angeles and now live in Washington state. I moved because it's just so beautiful up here but also because I felt with this current administration life would change in LA.
