Thanks to MTN I am seeing several folks I think would do a great job as President that I was unaware of until I saw good interviews with them on MTN.. At best other "news" outlets only do a snippet of interviews and the longer ones MTN does are great!! Of course a few of the folks I think would make outstanding presidents are from Canada!!! To be honest, of the "new guys" that I have not known much about, I don't know who I'd vote for in a primary, from Breshear, to Wes Moore, to Pritzker and "even" Walz (I don't quite include him as a new guy but I still sure like him). And there are several Senators and Congressmen and woman who will be good candidates. But again, without MTN I'd have no idea!

The managers would say people turned it to that station- BS. I’d get the remote & change it. Thanks for your thoughts. I think it's more complicated than that. Yes, the neofascist GOP needs racist, white supremacy voters more than ever before. That's just a fact. They would never win elections without that part of their coalition. But in my experience, many non-racists experienced DEI trainings as pretty violent too, and there's really something wrong with its underlying philosophy, which couldn't be more opposite to what MLK Jr. and second-wave anti-racism/anti-social injustice proposed.
MLK's work was based on the spiritual motto "love your enemies". DEI trainings often do the opposite: consider anyone who might "trigger" difficult emotions an enemy and learn to be afraid of him, to blame him for your own emotions, and to violently tell him to shut up, especially if he happens to be white and/or a white male. I went through trainings where even using the WORD "we" was seen as "violent speech". These trainings ARE violent, and without them, I don't think Trump would have been able to get so many votes from independents.
And then there is the fact that the uneducated (of all colors and genders) are actually suffering, materially, so it's quite absurd to imagine that they belong to the category of those who are "privileged and wealthy" (and yet, that is what DEI trainings tell them they SHOULD be treated as). Obviously, there ARE privileges that come with being white, in this country, but the way these trainings propose it makes it impossible to see and openly acknowledge the real suffering (both material and mental and often also spiritual) of white men (or, for that matter, young black and Latino men), especially the uneducated among them.
Again, NONE of this justifies what is being done to your partner. All I'm saying is that if we imagine that we can reduce the problem to racism only, imho we're missing the bigger picture here, and we need that bigger picture before we'll be able to efficiently fight back.

Gr8Americanlib TX, I used to live in a more conservative area. Every time I’d take the car in for oil changes, repairs etc. Fox News would be on in the waiting room. I complained every single time. The managers would say people turned it to that station- BS. I’d get the remote & change it. At Audi, I complained 3 times, then wrote to headquarters saying Fox News on tv made me feel unwanted in their dealership. The next few times I went in, they had an endless loop of Audi commercials-No more Faux News! I also complained to every hotel that had it on. Let them know!
Now imagine being a truck driver on your AM commute let's say in Houston and you are bombarded with their propaganda. If you hear a lie long enough you will start believing it's true. We have no combat vs radio airwaves and had come to feel helpless till I got on the MTN I believe it is reaching a lot of the farmers and many other people that at one time only had fox for "information."

Thanks for your thoughts. I think it's more complicated than that. Yes, the neofascist GOP needs racist, white supremacy voters more than ever before. That's just a fact. They would never win elections without that part of their coalition. But in my experience, many non-racists experienced DEI trainings as pretty violent too, and there's really something wrong with its underlying philosophy, which couldn't be more opposite to what MLK Jr. and second-wave anti-racism/anti-social injustice proposed.
MLK's work was based on the spiritual motto "love your enemies". DEI trainings often do the opposite: consider anyone who might "trigger" difficult emotions an enemy and learn to be afraid of him, to blame him for your own emotions, and to violently tell him to shut up, especially if he happens to be white and/or a white male. I went through trainings where even using the WORD "we" was seen as "violent speech". These trainings ARE violent, and without them, I don't think Trump would have been able to get so many votes from independents.
And then there is the fact that the uneducated (of all colors and genders) are actually suffering, materially, so it's quite absurd to imagine that they belong to the category of those who are "privileged and wealthy" (and yet, that is what DEI trainings tell them they SHOULD be treated as). Obviously, there ARE privileges that come with being white, in this country, but the way these trainings propose it makes it impossible to see and openly acknowledge the real suffering (both material and mental and often also spiritual) of white men (or, for that matter, young black and Latino men), especially the uneducated among them.
Again, NONE of this justifies what is being done to your partner. All I'm saying is that if we imagine that we can reduce the problem to racism only, imho we're missing the bigger picture here, and we need that bigger picture before we'll be able to efficiently fight back.
DEI has been a cluster fuck for sure in some spaces. Pitting one group of persons against another doesn't work. The programs themselves failed their purpose.

Apart from that, imho saying that "politicians" love to divide us is way too cynical.
