He is a ray of light .I have friend worried about their children being deported even though born in the US! The Japanese concentration camps from WWII need to be brought to light again. PayPal is run by cohorts of musk. I used to have a PayPal account but as soon as I found out that he and other oligarchs were involved with that I canceled my account. I want nothing to do with them.
The difference is that you don’t input your credit card information every time you make a purchase. Your info is stored with PayPal, and it goes through them. I use it mainly because they are very good about backing me up if I ever have an issue with a company, such as not receiving an order or a refund or even if I’m charged more than once for an item. They deal with the company to get it straightened out and will not charge my credit card for the company’s mistake.
PayPal is just as subject to hackers as just entering your CC info on a secure site. I have had issues with PayPal and fake invoices being submitted to them saying I owe. I closed that account out over a year ago.
You credit card may have the option of giving you a one-time account number to use online.
Whether you use or don't use your CC online your number is already out there in the public domain. There are free credit monitoring sites.
You can use your bank directly for an e-transfer, like Zelle. The bank will only transfer the amount you authorize to verified accounts. They're pretty strict; I had to recertify my identity on the phone and in person at a local branch when I wanted to send funds to my son for his wedding. We both use the same bank, too!
You have an account with your bank or credit union that I only set up to use with PayPal/Venmo. Only keep limited funds in it for online purchases. Easier to dispute unauthorized transactions with my credit union than with a credit card company. They are pass thru. The company you purchased from online never receives the bank info.
