Meidas.....… Trump called for the execution by hanging of 2 Democratic senators and 4 representatives after they posted a video reminding members of the military and intelligence community that their oath is to the Constitution and the country, and it is their legal obligation to refuse to follow any unlawful orders they may receive. Each lawmaker in the video is either a military vet or former member of a US intelligence agency.

IS THIS AN ACTIONABLE TERRORISTIC THREAT?

Under state and Federal law?

For anyone but the Orange Piggy, it would be a felony to threaten the life of any member of Congress. But thanks to John Roberts, Orange Piggy is immune from prosecution for any "official act" as president. Since he uses his social media to declare policy, anything he spews on there could be construed as an "official act." As he was never prosecuted for inciting the terrorist action of Jan 6, it's probably he will get away with whatever results his disgusting words have on his cultists, again, thanks to John Roberts and his Five Fellows.

Agreed. Roberts has had a lot of help from his colleagues and from the various oligarchs who got them installed on the Supreme Court, pay for their hunting trips and exotic vacations, and of course, have help put Trump in power. Once Trump leaves, whether it’s due to impeachment or incapacitation, the country needs to implement meaningful reforms to the Constitution, laws, and particularly, the Supreme Court, so that SCOTUS can never again rewrite the constitution and legislation in a manner indifferent to the actual text and the apparent intent.

You would think, but look at what this corrupt SCOTUS has already done... Roe v Wade was "settled law" until Kavanaugh and Barrett were sworn in. They have gutted the Voting Rights Act, and they have totally screwed us over with the Shadow Docket. I would not be surprised if these corrupt schmucks consider his tweets "official acts" and that inciting murder is okay as long as you're in office.

Perhaps it's time for Justice Roberts to reconsider his 'blanket immunity' ultra-dangerous and hyper-unconstitutional license that Trump is now obviously exploiting.

Ben, you have access to folk like former AG Holder, Justice Luttig, and others. How about brainstorming with them as to how to force Roberts to correct his massive error. How about the Senators and Reps who Trump has threatened not only sue but bring felon charges against him?

Thank you for asking the question, Daniel!!!

Once Dems have the majority and WH, we can hope they'll legislate sufficiently to ensure present and future, constitutional, constraints on SCOTUS. In its current form SCOTUS is far from being an 'independent, co-equal branch' of our Democracy.

My hope is that those threatened will pursue felony charges against Trump, sue him, and force both the DOJ and SCOTUS to act in accordance with existing LAW -- which Trump brazenly violated and motivated countless Americans to begin calling for the death of Representatives Jason Crow, Chris Deluzio, Maggie Goodlander and Chrissy Houlahan and Senators Mark Kelly and Elissa Slotkin.

Thank you Janet.

I don't understand why, after those appalling threats, all members of Congress did not rise to at least rebuke Trump, when in fact they should immediately impeach and convict.

Threatening folks with murder is illegal. Full stop. And it completely erodes any trust or faith in the electoral and governing processes.

Individuals cannot "pursue felony charges" as felonies are criminal offenses, not civil. If the threatened individuals chose to sue, they'd have to go with something like intentional infliction of emotional distress, which is a tort brought in a civil action. I hope at least one of them will do that.

Roe v Wade was settled, and then reversed decades later not based on new fact.

A POTUS had not been immune from purposely doing illegal things... after serving, due process & accountability could happen (And was happening! and far along in process)

Still befuddles me why a POTUS would need to be doing illegal things, even in his/her job. The position has access to the top scholars & career advisors. The most career diplomats, who would support brains over brawn (esp illegal brawn, bombs dropped on boats for ego show, etc)

1. We are a minority party. We need Congressional Republicans to stand up.

2. I post stuff like this every day. https://www.impeachtrumpagain.org/

Al Green has repeatedly introduced resolutions to impeach Donald Trump, citing concerns over abuse of power, threats to democracy, and a disregard for the separation of powers and constitutional limits. His efforts have included accusations related to Trump's actions concerning military action in Iran, comments on racial issues, and his approach to the judiciary and federal court orders. While these resolutions have not led to impeachment, they have been the subject of votes, such as one in June 2025, which was ultimately tabled by the House.

I wish Meidas would follow up on this stuff.

Green is a speaker at Refuse the Regime in DC https://removalcoalition.org/

https://50501dc.com/event/remove-the-regime/

3. Threats to members of Congress. https://www.axios.com/2025/11/20/trump-death-threats-democrats-congress-military

Joint leadership statement. https://jeffries.house.gov/2025/11/20/joint-leadership-statement-about-donald-trumps-death-threats-against-democratic-members/

Representative Don Bacon R. NE, commented that threats to members of Congress are "inappropriate" and called for de-escalation of rhetoric.

I agree. I believe there was a great deal of courage during the civil rights movement in the 60s (and to be honest well before) but I was both a non concerned kid and the media coverage showing us the courage of everyday people day in and day out was just not there. I do get inspired by reading of the actions of others, which sometimes may seem small but for that person is a big deal. The courage of all those who are on the front lines literally helping communities where ICE raids are active or about to be and/or ICE occupation is very real amazes me and it is never covered by mainstream media (well I'm pretty sure it isn't.. I don't watch any TV news, and no longer subscribe to the WaPo or NYT). Thank goodness for MTN having the courage and the staff to air videos of real, average folks taking very courageous actions.

John Lewis and Fannie Lou Hamer, both of truly blessed memory, were those I followed closely and tho not tested as they were, gained more courage to speak out. I practiced on school bullies - those bullying others; to teachers who I must’ve thought “misguided” in something they said or taught. After the “Quiet, Piggy” incident I questioned myself and wondered if I’d been aboard - knowing he could tell the pilot to land and put me out or just maybe push me out an exit door - what I woulda done. I don’t know.

We each can be informed and practice letting our disdain be known. Use the people of Charlotte be a guide and us a support.

Very well said and it becomes more complicated when you have children to support. But I imagine most of the media folks who are not speaking out make considerably more money than most Americans and they could chose to live with dignity and ethics and an income like the rest of us.

I’m not sure they do now, @Pat, make much. Newspapers pay little to newer reporters. Biz Week may pay better. Still if they are DC based with children or others to support (some may be married to people fired under DOGE), they may make more than many. They already fear for their lives bec he berates “the media.”

I’ve found many people when given the opportunity to speak out against bullying, to others, they are silent. I’d like everyone to act ethically. It’s not easy in too many places.

Speaking of.. I rewatched that scene in the Oval. If you choose to, watch MBS’s body language.

I explained to them that I advocate for my children, I speak out for my grandchildren, I fight for their rights so that they can have a better life than what is being projected onto our country right now. They deserve better, especially my young grandchildren (of mixed heritage) who didn’t ask for any of this and didn’t get a choice in the matter. I would think that all grandparents would want the best and prosperous future for their beloved family but we need to start by making sure that they have the best present for them now for them to succeed.
