Ukraine policy stupidity is a window of opportunity. Need Congressional Republicans to stand up. Interview senate dems.

Send them this:

Dear Mr. Solomon,

Thank you for contacting me regarding the war in Ukraine. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

Russia is a cancerous, evil regime that threatens our national security by attempting to control as much of Europe and Eurasia as it can. It also supports the regimes in Iran, Communist China, Cuba, and Venezuela. All of them continually seek to harm the United States and force us into a position of dependence upon them for our livelihood. Vladimir Putin’s unjustifiable and unlawful invasion of Ukraine is just one more example of this fact. I believe that the United States must continue to stand strongly with Ukraine and provide the lethal military aid it needs to win this war. Putin’s murderous attacks are a threat to our national security and the security of our democratic allies.

While we must continue to support democracy in Ukraine, I will not allow Russia’s unjust invasion to deprioritize or slow progress on solving urgent domestic issues such as securing the border, fighting inflation and rebuilding our national defense. Congress can continue to act and solve these issues, which we owe to the American people.

As Florida’s U.S. Senator, and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I will continue fighting for allies around the world, while also ensuring we take care of our families here at home. I am proud to represent every citizen in Florida and I appreciate the time you took to provide your position on this matter. Should you have any additional questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Rick Scott

United States Senator

If they haven't stood up to oppose Hegseth, Gabbard and especially Patel and the firing of military top officials yesterday, they aren't ever going to. They'll send out letters like this one to try to appease voters while continuing to rubber stamp whatever Trump demands. Don't be taken in. Rick Scott especially is a known Medicare fraudster who should be in prison rather than the senate.

And in NC we have gone thru the same crap with HCA that Scott enabled in FL (and I bet he is still a major stockholder). People have died laying on gurneys in emergency dept hallways because of cost cutting. Entire depts of physicians, eg Cancer docs, have quit. The problem in WNC is we are basically a captive audience. There is very little real competition to what was once a great hospital system. Of course they knew this when they bought out Mission.

Wish that this were true but it's not. I can't count the number of videos etc. where you have said Trump destroyed, collapings, wiped out etc. HE IS NOT and this is not an effective technique (says a person with zero followers to you with 4 million :) -- but know and evaluate your enemy -- he is still strong and willing to use force, deceit, and the military to enforce his views. Expose him -- show that he is for himself and nothing else and doesn't care about anything beyond his own power. But stop saying he's collapsing -- he's beginning to get exposed and people don't like what they see -- but that's far from a collapse.

Expand full comment
Ed Garland's avatar

Well, that's one way to look at it. Collapse is in flight and projected to be ongoing. Everything we need to know about Trump is in a grave on one of his golf courses. Everything we need to know about his 3 adult children is obvious since they don't seem to care about the gravesite of their mother.

The stock market sees something akin to collapse as of yesterday's closing numbers. Trump is a figurehead, a dunce, a tool. He is supported by Putrid and Project 2025. He is failing the mission. What I expect to see is a falling away from his delusional BS which appears to be gaining incredible speed at GOP town halls.

He and his administration is in chaos and that alone is a sign of collapse. It's happening as people are waking up to the reality they got snookered by a carnival sideshow idiot. His approval ratings along with Musk's are in the dumpster. So, from where I sit presently he appears to be in freefall--without a parachute.
