This FBI raid on Omar is state terrorism, tyranny in fact. If the DOJ can do this to a sitting congress member then what protection do any of us have.

Ballard Graham's avatar

None! From this criminal regime!

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Exactly. It's government terrorism.

sheryl jeffries's avatar

Thanks so much for the update, Brett. These people are pure evil and Trump needs to be stopped and I can only hope it will be in November

Marliss Desens's avatar

Stopping Trump and his cohort will extend well past November, but a blue wave election will be a start.

Love the GOP wasting money running anti Troy Jackson ads in Portland, OR instead of Portland, ME! Too funny.

Marianne L's avatar

Yes, it made me laugh loudly 🤣

Lee Lenard's avatar

Maybe Troy Jackson will become a write in candidate in Portland, Oregon since voters cannot find him on the ballot.

My guess, the republicans had A I buy the ads ! !

Marliss Desens's avatar

Geography is not a Republican strong point.

Angie's avatar

I hope someone with some connections and some common sense is encouraging Zelenskyy to continue to flatten those Russian bot factories. And that Zelenskyy takes out every single energy facility in that dump of a country.

Yeseree. I read that by shutting them down Ukraine shut the Alberta Canada wannabe separatists’ bots down. Coming through the USSR the Canadian treasonous bastards. 😒🇨🇦

Cat's avatar

Every bit of this hurts. But the wanton destruction of trees?! This is destruction for the sake of destruction.

Lee Lenard's avatar

Do not go after Trump for the trees GO AFTER the WORKERS and THE DEMOLITION TREE COMPANY who did this !!!!!

Dan Beach's avatar

Perhaps the contractors will think twice. See Ballroom, Landing Pad, reflecting pool, etc., etc. And I wouldn't be surprised to see a before-daylight start to the so-called arch,

Becca's avatar

What is the company that cut them down?

Kathy Sowers's avatar

I just found this, and I'm shocked: "The trees at the D.C. municipal golf course (East Potomac Golf Links) were cut down by a "surge workforce" of about 40 National Park Service (NPS) personnel assigned under a Trump administration order, rather than an external private tree-cutting company." Must have been loyalty-cleared to get on this workforce and cut them down anyway against court orders.

Marliss Desens's avatar

So, we can identify them and criminally prosecute them?

Becca's avatar

Nope! They were just following orders. Like the SS, concentration camp murderers! No one wants to go out of their way to check things out and check their moral code before doing something to property that doesn't belong to trump but to WE the PEOPLE! 529 trees are GONE!

Marliss Desens's avatar

Exactly. I want to know what company was involved in this wanton destruction. "Just following orders" is no excuse.

Becca's avatar

Exactly. Anything for a buck Americans!

Barb O's avatar

I wish a photo/video of the before and after could be posted so we could view the devastation. I hope they all rot in hell.

Marianne L's avatar

Yes, and it won’t stop until those who violated the order gat arrested without bail

Karen Echols's avatar

The judge came out and said she didn’t know how to make her warning any clearer. When is anyone going to just acknowledge that any judges order means nothing to rumpus? He does what he wants, when he wants, and pays absolutely no attention to judges barring him from doing what he wants. Why? Because even after he goes against the ruling, NOBODY does anything about it! Seriously - why wouldn’t rumpus just do what he wants? He knows nobody is going to do anything. The judges are outraged that he violated the order. Then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! The lawsuits and judges barring him mean absolutely nothing! It will never stop until someone follows through with consequences!

Punkette's avatar

Right on, Cat. It’s a crime against nature. 😭

Becca's avatar

529 trees displeased the little boy in the White House. One could have been the site of a Nathan H*** REDUX. For all the death, destruction, sorrow, misery, lawlessness, cruelty, corruption, a REDUX is appropriate.

Lee Lenard's avatar

He wanted to out pace George Washington by 528, I cannot tell a lie ? ? ?

Angie's avatar

That is classic tantruming by a psychopath.

Ballard Graham's avatar

The only thing this raid on her home is about is because she’s a Naturalized American Somali that the convicted felon in our WH hates! He’s a bigoted racist thug!

Marianne L's avatar

She was born in Mogadishu, Somalia. But that should not matter as she’s been a citizen since 2000. A couple of that felon’s wives were also born outside of the US. I’m a Minnesotan and this evil act really upsets me.

Ballard Graham's avatar

Thanks for the correction!

The trees. Symbolic of the regimes’ wanton destruction and impunity. They don’t give a fuck about laws and courts.

Sandie Becker's avatar

Still say it'd be a shame if ALL trees on his golf properties disappeared. For every one he cuts down, an acre of his property gets killed. Just like a picked corn field....all lumps, dirt, and dead stalks.

Marliss Desens's avatar

How about we confiscate ten acres of his property for every tree cut down?

Ballard Graham's avatar

Mike Johnson like his convicted felon leader are living in an alternate la la land too!

Kathleen Rall's avatar

I am so, so glad that Meidas is covering the climate crisis! We cant ignore this life threatening deterioration of our climate or the Trump administration's efforts to reverse all our progress on renewable energy.

Angie's avatar

Keep donating, if you can, thru the 25th. Simon Rosenberg says after that your donation dollars don’t go very far. We need that Senate, folks. Give as much as you possibly can. And please, if your state allows it, vote ASAP. Bank those votes. No excuses. This is our country we’re talking about. Fight.

Marliss Desens's avatar

We also need the state houses. Most of the governors' races are underfunded. Governors will play a big role in the 2028 elections and in 2030 redistricting.

Jane's avatar

Thank you for these paywall free updates. It’s very much appreciated.

Patty salerno's avatar

OMG! we just need a new president like Zelinski would be nice!

> While Trump may have immunity, Bessent and the officials executing these

> illegal transactions do not.

Serious question, and one that's going to be more relevant after the midterms, who is going to prosecute federal crimes? The trump DOJ? Pardon me while I laugh, cry, and then throw up a little.

Marianne L's avatar

Yes, good question. And he will pardon them all 🤢

Punkette's avatar

Uh. Then they should be charged with state crimes, which Dump cannot pardon.

Becca's avatar

States have to have standing to bring charges and state laws are different from Federal Laws.

Maureen Spitz's avatar

If Dems control the House - even just that - we can issue subpoenas and bring receipts - we're working on those already. If we get the Senate too - even more of this will occur. There will be a reckoning. We may even be able to throw out some "members" of Trump's "DOJ."

Becca's avatar

But, trump will pardon them and so would any other GOP President. Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon and trump has promised pardons for all who support him. 1500 January 6, 2021 Insurrectionists were pardoned as soon as trump got in the White House. Anyone can buy a pardon. Favorites of trump are felons, thugs, election deniers, fraudsters, rapists-pardons for all!

Marliss Desens's avatar

If a pardon is the result of a bribe, can the pardon be revoked? There is a long list here.

Ed From PA's avatar

Pardons. Yep. Definitely a second, huge hurdle. Somehow, I don't think any state will have standing to prosecute sanction violations.

David Lubin's avatar

I know they're just trees, but when will a judge put a REAL stop to Trump and his sycophants? Someone needs to be held liable and thrown in jail for contempt. And you know what else, campaigning is dumb, WITH A B. Who goes to campaign rallies? Supporters. Listen, we believe the truth, MAGA followers believe the lies they're told. The "other side" probably never goes to a rally of an opponent unless it's one of us dumbers going to one to be entertained by the lies told.

Marliss Desens's avatar

Well, they are not just trees. Mature maples and oaks take a long time to grow. We are looking at more than fifty years to replace what was destroyed by these MAGA loyalists in just a day. Trump is destroying our national resources.

Becca's avatar

Courts have little ability to enforce their verdicts. The Federal Executive Branch have that power. If they all want to disobey the law, there is nothing WE the people can do about it. Even US Congress, if they Impeach someone cannot enforce it without the Executive Branch cooperation. Founding Fathers did not expect voters and US Congress/GOP to allow stacking the US Supreme Court, lower courts with partisan loyalists and confirming every Executive Branch Cabinet to be picked by a cruel, greedy, corrupt, fascist President.

Getting MOB RULE out of the country will be very difficult but with effort WE the People can do it. BUT, WE need leaders to organized our actions. No one brave enough to surface yet. US Congress cannot tell us to General Strike, Tax Revolt, Boycott Everything. Some patriots have to appear to lead the Revolt against fascism and oligarchs.

olderwoman's avatar

OMG for real?

I'll have to scroll down and read for the details.

"Trump’s new press secretary is a Pizzagate/QAnon conspiracy thoery peddling nut"

MPT's avatar

Interesting. So apparently the demented Robert's Court ruling on presidential immunity for all presidential actions, means trump can ignore all court demands, and break the laws of the land, including those he signed into law! What a gig. And trump can be a traitor as well, since he is helping Russia, who is helping Iran kill American soldiers. Thanks, Robert's Court, for destroying the rule of law, ironic as that may be.
